The Nail Lab reviews
44I’m very impressed with my manicure and pedicure. All done in a very careful yet timely manner, and the air con was much appreciated on such a hot day.
The best salon in Sydney! Such high quality manis & pedis, they last so long and very high level of hygiene. Worth every penny.
I had a gel manicure with extensions and unfortunately within 48 hours developed an acute staph infection, also have had four nails already come off. Nice staff but a terrible experience, I won’t be back.
Wow. Just incredible. It’s been a while since I’ve had a good experience with a nail artist. I decided to try the new nail extension service and they nailed it
Absolutely beautiful manicure, can't fault it. I would suggest cleaning the E file between customers and using brand new nail buffers - there was nail dust from previous customers on the drill and buffer. All other tools used were fresh and sealed, but there's not much point using new tools if you're going to contaminate my nails with other people's nail dust anyway. Really disappointed to see the hygiene standards have slipped since I was there 3 years ago and customers are now crammed in unlike previously. You'd think you could afford fresh nail buffers for every client charging $70 for a manicure. Update: nails lasted 13 days before one completely fell off of its own volition. All the sns I've had in the past lasted a minimum 4 to 6 weeks.
I’m a big fan of the nail lab. I normally go to the one at chiefly and it’s still my preferred option if I’m going solo or with one person but for big groups Darlinghurst is excellent. I love h the r mail lab as I get such long wear out of my gel pedicures. 6 to 8 weeks is about the timeframe I get before needing a new pedicure.
Spotless and airy nail salon with the most professional and friendly staff. Have been going regularly for 6 years and won’t go anywhere else.
Amazing! Absolutely love my nails! The staff here are so friendly and sweet! Honestly the BEST SNS I've even had! BONUS: The cuticle oil smells amazing as well!
Never have I ever had such a sweet, gentle, caring and attentive nail technician! I just had the loveliest, most relaxing and engaging mani pedi of my life! Amy is not only a beautiful human, but an exceptional nail technician - with attention to detail and high standards. I’ll never go anywhere ever again. Can’t wait for next visit, with her light as a feather touch and sweet inquisitive chats. What an angel:)
Having been to a variety of nail salon in Sydney, this is by far the best. Always so clean, relaxing and runs on time! By appointment only. Quality of work is outstanding. All the staff and the manager are lovely and make you feel both comfortable and welcome ensuring they look after the health of your nails. Thea is my go to technician for nail art. She is simply the best!
Had my nails done a while ago. Who I assume was the manager stood over the nail technician the whole time micro managing. Continuously making negative comments and reminding her of her time management. Made the whole service extremely uncomfortable.
Just had a gel manicure at the nail lab by Thea and absolutely loved my experience. They were so helpful at finding the exact colour I was after (even comparing two choices on my nails and removing it) and so lovely!
Will definitely be back! X
A few weeks ago i came here with my sister, who has also left a review (along with her now husband who has been shamed for having a name they don't believe to be real). It was quite possibly the worst service i've ever experienced and for $135 i believe to get two pedis and be told there was not enough time to do our hands was just plain rude. Ive worked in the service industry for years and would never blatantly tell a customer NO NO WE CANT, when they're literally just asking a simple question. Actually so overpriced and ruined the whole day before her wedding as we then had to travel around finding somewhere to get our nails done. Go to professionail honestly.the staff are nicer and the work is cheaper. Plus no massage chair? Maybe they think theyre trying to do something different but i feel like thats a necessity to fully enjoy a pedi and ive never gone to a nail salon without one. All very strange. I have no idea why they have such a high rating.
As my husband stated below (Timothy John, yes that is his real name, thanks for your rude response) my experience here was very unprofessional. I booked online for a signature pedicure and manicure with french tips, (I had called and said I wasn't sure what I was after, and the woman on the phone said that if I wanted to adjust it on the day I could) I hoped to change my french tip booking to nail art whilst I was in my appointment, and was immediately told 'NO' over and over, and that they didn't have 'ANY TIME and I should have booked correctly' The tone the woman used was extremely rude and aggressive. I understand if there wasn't time, I was merely asking if it would be possible to add more detail to the nails - and being spoken to so rudely for asking was so strange to me. I was getting married the following day, and trying to have a nice fun experience with my sister, but her attitude was extremely off putting. Further more, on the website, it says nail french tips and nail art both take 15 minutes? It also says this on the menu on the front of the shop so Im not sure why it would have taken 'Way longer' as the woman serving me kept saying. We ended up leaving half way through and finding somewhere else to go after our pedicure (which was extremely expensive for what it was) as I didn't feel comfortable being there at all - not fun to do the day before your wedding! Save your $ and go somewhere you wont be spoken to rudely for asking a question.
This was my first time visiting Nail Lab, I booked for a ombré Gel manicure (but ended up getting an SNS manicure due to their recommendation) and pedicure including the removal of my current polish.
My services cost $160 and it was not worth the money, it felt very rushed with not a lot of care taken. Uneven filling, patchy polish and an excess of product left on the cuticle/skin.
With the positive previous reviews and the price I expected more from this Salon.
Been a client for years and as a beauty professional myself, I know they are the real deal when it comes to professional, hygienic nail care.
Book ahead!
Positives: clean hygienic good customer service nice environment use mostly good quality products friendly technicians lots of colour choices
Cons: their shellac product quality is not the best, feels soft and can pick it off/peel with your fingernails. Started chipping after only a few days. The pedicure is dry buffing which doesn’t get as much dead skin off as wet buffing
Best manicure, best pedicure in Sydney. I am so glad I found this nail salon. Outstanding customer service yet I always feel welcome the moment I walk in. I will definitely come back.
Thank you to the lovely ladies who took care of my mother, niece and myself for our birthday celebration. We can't stop looking at our hands! We'll be back in a few weeks when we need a freshen up
I am so happy that I have found this nail salon.
Thea and Louise are amazing! I really look forward to my visits here because of these two. Thea does my manicure every couple of weeks and always takes the time to ensure my nails are perfect and that I’m happy with them.
I would never trust anyone else with my nails!
