The Mint reviews
41As a Sydney wedding photographer, I absolutely love working at this venue. From it's stunning internal courtyard to it's historical building you are guaranteed to get some truely beautiful wedding photos here. With both outdoor and wet weather options for your ceremony available, they have all bases covered. There are also many other incredible photo opportunities in the CBD or surround area if you feel like venturing out. Would highly recommend venue for your wedding!
Awesome historical building with great information about the Rump Hospital during the convict.
The "tour" isn't well signposted, but what a magnificent piece of Australian history to explore!
We went to a wedding ceremony here and everything is so beautiful. Very private and the staffs are super friendly.
This old building was originally built as a hospital. When gold was found in New South Wales, it become the first mint in Australia. After 1926, the mint was used by various government departments and planned to be demolished. Eventually the Royal Mint building was listed as cultural heritage alongside the Barracks. The building itself is very old therefore hot and humid in summer.
The beautiful historical building and yet still very well organized. I am loving its architecture, design and decoration. This is one of the best places for event, meeting or private meeting. Having both indoor and outdoor areas.
This place is one of the stops you should do when in the city. While there make sure you check out Hyde Park Barracks next door.
Although under renno, my family's experience was incredibly informative. Big thanks to Kate for all the lovely history on Sydney's Mint!
Beautiful place in the middle of city, good place get coffee or chat with friend. I was here for our office seminar and event room was awesome. Staff was really helpful and supportive. Food was amazing and had alot of options for everyone.
This park very nice with good fresh air in middle of city. We will get all family come here every weekend for picnic and eat bbq. It near all shop and train so easy to come and leave with fast time you can wait
Gentleman who worked on the desk did his best however most of the mint in closed / under construction. Give it a miss for now
We had our wedding ceremony at the mint. The venue was so beautiful and the SLM Venues staff so great to deal with that we thought it warranted a review for any future couples considering this space. Our original wedding was cancelled by COVID and the original location and company was a nightmare to deal with. We reached out to SLM Venues (who manage The Mint) about another venue in their portfolio that wasn't available but they suggested The Mint - we hadn't even come across it as a wedding venue - it was perfect! The courtyard is STUNNING for a ceremony and having a wet weather back up on site included was amazing peace of mind. We communicated with Rebecca who was just the loveliest most helpful events contact for SLM, a real breath of fresh air after the hell we went through with out original venue. For any couples looking for a wedding location, I think The Mint is one of Sydneys best kept secrets!
As an historical building of great importance, the austerity of the Mint is a stark contrast to the nearby modern skyscrapers that flank Hyde Park and adorn the inner Sydney landscape.
The courtyard of the Mint provides a quaint and romantic outdoor setting for weddings and other social affairs.
Historical building I knew nothing about. I will go back there to spend more time instead of just a wedding
Just wanted to go there for a breath mint. Turns out, to my disappointment, that there wasn't any. Good money still
Massive disappointment, I've been collecting the uncirculated annual sets since they began making them, this year it is a cheap, weird, plastic case shoved in a cardboard sleave that is too tight, and a strange, nonsensical size, that ruins the value of the overall set, why? So ugly and doesn't fit with over 20 years of collecting, don't both calling customer service, they don't know why the change, awful experience, such a disappointment.
Had my wedding ceremony here. Had a wet weather option which was desirable.
The service on the day was impeccable.
Love finding out my history and coins that dated back a long time love that fine new thing did know about The Mint check out with pass my sister and I go use it a lot.
Photograph a wedding there. Lovely place with great food! Did I mention their awesome services?
The Mint is one of our old world building, going back to the beginnings of Sydney. It's sandstone and beautifully presented and preserved. We saw the Ben Adler string quartet perform in an intimate setting. Amazing performance in a wonderful old world charm building.
