The Milton Hotel

The Milton hotel does it again! Second time coming through a year apart. Outstanding food, love the sharing plates and their use of the woodfire oven. Prawns are a killer. Great service but felt our exceptional staff could have had an extra set of hands. If you are in the area worth checking out. This small pub would give the big city venues a run for their money.

The Milton Hotel served the best meal we had while staying in Mollymook/Ulludulla for a week. The delicate fish fingers followed by prawns, pork and XO gai lan were balanced, good sized servings and delicious. The Burnt pav was moorish and they happily provided two spoons. The pork was the highlight for me. The informal style service was well timed. The only negative was that we struggled with the noise levels given hard surfaces everywhere, a family friendly vibe and a big party of girls having a fun dinner out. We couldn’t hear each other in the middle of the room and asked to be seated near the windows.

Overall, a great dinner and would highly recommend it.

We dined at the Milton hotel tonight. It was probably our best NSW regional dining experience. The flatbread, prawn and Wagyu dishes were amazing. The venue also had live music which was a great touch. Would highly recommend!

Until now I’ve always had a great experience at the Milton - good atmosphere, fabulous location and view, excellent (albeit pricey) food. However my latest visit has left me questioning whether I will return or recommend to others. Our only dining option was an 8 course yum cha (something we were not told on booking). All the courses bar one were mediocre at best - tough meat, overcooked veges, rubbery fish - and one was literally inedible. On the menu it was touted as BBQ chicken hearts with satay sauce. What we got was raw chicken hearts - had to feed them to the dogs. On raising with the staff we got a very dismissive attitude and a shrug of the shoulders. The manager fobbed us off by assuring us the hearts couldn’t possibly have been raw as they had been put through a sous vide process for several hours. Firstly, The hearts were without question raw as all three diners attested (we should have saved one to show her but didn’t). Secondly, according to the menu, the hearts were supposed to be BBQed so what’s with the sous vide? Overall very underwhelmed with food and service - not sure how they scored a Good Food Hat. Clearly the critics were not served the yum cha…

The old pub has been revitalised by the new owners! Well done guys for that and for offering the locals a fresh and vibrant space with a superb menu, not to mention on site brewed beer! Yum for both! Wether you’re passing through or live here take the time to pop in! They even turned on the Tele, so we can watch our AFL team win! Delicious local kingfish sashimi and pork loin - something we would normally not order, but we’re pleasantly surprised! Mmmmmmmm

Dinner with family over the June long weekend. Great atmosphere and the local ales were top shelf. The food unfortunately was sub standard. All 5 diners had either Wagu beef or the lamb rump. Both dishes were so chewy we left our meals unfinished. To the credit of the wait staff they acknowledged the poor quality of the food and discounted our bill. Won't be in a rush to return.

Amazing and tasty - some of the best food I've had for a while. Only issue was that it was incredibly busy and seemed understaffed, but that didn't detract from the experience.

Amazing food, great beers, fabulous views and unbelievable service. Dean was outstanding and really took care of us and made our lunch very special. The brisket was a highlight along with the parfait. And the pretzel and miso sundae- random and fantastic!

Delicious food with flavours that will delight. Staff friendly and helpful. Great atmosphere. Sit inside or out.

Wow - even our dog thinks that this place deserves a hat! We drove 2.5 hours for lunch, high exceptions and hopeful that the “dog friendly” with a chefs hat was going to live up to expectations! Blew us away with service as soon as we arrived and the menu is something you’d expect some urban kitsch fine dining restaurant in Sydney! Amazing beverage menu, beers were a stand out and just fast high quality bar staff that were friendly under festive season assault!

I haven't stayed here I just spent an afternoon there in the sports bar.
The place has been recently renovated and is great. The beer was cheap too less than $6 a Schooner.

Incredible food and very attentive staff. Plenty of flexibility on the menu with vegetarian and vegan items. Can’t wait to go back.

When tourism is your lifeblood, you should aim to make your guests feel welcome. This didn't happen. I won't be going back for that reason and that reason alone

Super delicious grub! Great home brew beers and cocktails that made us drive almost an hour 2 times already!

The most delectable food not only on the South Coast but in NSW as a whole. Wow! Taste buds are dancing. Salivating for my next return.

The food is on the higher side price wise but it was absolutely delightful. I shared the $96 lamb shoulder with another person and it was Devine. Great ambiance and a popular local spot, you’ll definitely want a booking on a busy night. The service was friendly. A must do if you are visiting.

Hands down the best tuna of my life! Couldn’t recommend highly enough! Also great beer and super friendly staff

Cute pub with a self contained brewery. Lovely beer garden with kids playground. Excellent views to the ocean.
