All in all very recommendable!

Really nice hotel that maintains its historic charm and atmosphere. The location can't be beat and it is very quiet. My only suggestion is to provide microwaves to the rooms.

Comfortable, quiet, close to everything with an amazing, attentive staff that are more than happy to go above and beyond! We'll definitely be staying here on our next trip to Katoomba.

Great location and priced well. Located across from the train station and a short walk from dozens of restaurants, bars and shops. This is not a 5 star hotel (doesn't claim to be) Our room was run down and odd in ways but the bed was comfortable and it served as a good home base for our 3 nights in Katoomba. The good was the location, Free on-site parking, daily breakfast $15 pp prepaid at check in, friendly staff. The bad was the shower and lack of full window covering in the bathroom (doubt anyone could see in on 3rd floor but it was odd), no extra locks on room door, generally dated room however they are currently renovating.

Convenient and easy going accomodation. All you need for a simple stay in the Blue Mountains you rest and recover for another day of adventure.

AVOID METROPOLE, TOWN CENTRE MOTEL AND BLUE MOUNTAINS HERITAGE MOTEL. ALL THREE ARE DECREPIT IRRESPECTIVE OF NEW PAINT.

I’ve been in more cheerful psych wards. Felt like I was losing the will to live after only 20 minutes in the dining room.

To clarify, we stayed at the Blue Mountains Heritage Motel, where we were given breakfast vouchers for the Metropole.

Avoid this place and its mates Blue Mountains Heritage and Town Centre. All three demolition

Pros:
Excellent location
Quaint historic feel
Library and common rooms
Excellent breakfast (Make sure you pay for and get in on the breakfast in the mornings)

Cons:
Room and bed sizes are a bit smaller (Maybe the room that we booked)
Bathrooms could do with an upgrade (More modernization)

Overall verdict: Definitely value for money.

Worth it for the location and the haunted vibes! This place should definitely be in a most haunted places in Australia show. From the creaky stairs, to the courtyard and especially the games room, everything here feels and seems haunted!

But, take the ghosts away and you're left with a decent room (our was a queen bed on the last floor), with nice little treats (coffee, cookies, marshmallows, tea and water) and a good location (can't think how a place in Katoomba could have a 'bad' location, but who knows?).

Good value for the money!

Large rooms in a once grand hotel. Clean with nicely up-graded bathrooms, but slightly shabby cheap furniture in the rooms, though nice enough.
The hotel itself is lovely with stained glass windows, nice lounges with old world charm, a games room, wooden staircases. There is a lift.
Buffet breakfast was good, including things like spicy shakshuka eggs, and pear cake.
The hotel is very conveniently located close to the main street of Katoomba and the train station, but I found it extremely noisy with freight trains going past on one of the nights that I stayed.

I had a Mother and Daughter Weekend and stayed at the Metropole Guesthouse. The Staff were warm and friendly especially Jack who I dealt with. Our room was clean and comfortable. We loved the old world charm and the great continental breakfast each morning. We would definitely stay there again!

Great location, beautiful old building well looked after with comfy couches and fireplaces dotted all around. The room was toasty warm and clean. Very close to the station and central to the main street in Katoomba. Would stay again!

Had to change the date of our booking and whoever it was on the phone was very patient and we eventually got it done.
Hotel is older but really comfortable, & super close to everything in town.
Will definitely stay again.

We emailed n booked directly with the hotel. Very friendly staffs n service. The Metropole guest house is just 2 mins walk across Katoomba station. Plenty of resting/sitting areas within the 3-storey hotel and in-house lift. They offer continental n very nice hot buffet breakfast with reasonable prices. Hot breakfast consists of sausages, bacons, hash brown, potato veggies fritters, grilled tomatoes, mushrooms, scrambled eggs, pouched eggs n baked beans. Rooms are spacious n clean. Highly recommended.

Perfect accommodation for our ladies’ walking group. Comfortable beds and clean rooms. The Library was great for after dinner chats. The Continental breakfast was excellent with Bircher muesli and fruit. Very good value.

The Metropole was an absolutely amazing place to stay for such a reasonable price. The old world charm and character is wonderful. The staff are all so lovely and the rooms clean, comfortable and warm. The breakfast is very nice and plentiful. I wish we had stayed longer to enjoy the ambiance of this place and to explore Katoomba. We will definitely be back for an extended stay in the future.

Stayed there on New Year’s Eve. A real country style accommodation. Just a bit tight for space and parking at times. The breakfast was amazing and they helped me so much went out of their way to feed me and provide beverages. I only have a photo of the hot chocolate sorry I didn’t take one of the breakfast. I will be back.

We didn't stay here however the hotel we did stay in offered us complimentary breakfast here, it was great the lady running the show was fantastic, the food was delicious, and extra special bits and pieces were offered for Easter breakfast
