The Ken Done Gallery reviews
19Fine though here the app says open when I arrived at 1: 00 pm it said closed on the door until 3: 00 pm on a Wednesday!? I should have phoned, checked, the apps don't tell you.
If you feel blue, you should visit the Gallery. Afterwards, you feel bright and your soul is full of colours and light. What a wonderful place!
Great art, great experience if you take the time to talk with the curators. Ken Done is a great Australian artist with amazing works that anyone would love to own and admire. I purchased a couple of works, including a print, which are not only artworks but are also investments that increase in value so I get a double bonus that I do not get with most other investments. I highly recommend Ken Done Gallery and Done artworks.
I don’t think I appreciated Ken Done’s art enough the first time around. Loving the bright playful colours and textures of this resortwear collaboration between Ken Done and Romance Was Born. It captures the magic of finding Nemo in soft undulating corals in the aquamarine sea perfectly—particularly important when so much time has passed between island time snorkels!
What a wonderful explosion of colour this is.
I absolutely enjoyed exploring this gallery & loved his work.
Nice gallery with Ken's work. Right by The Rocks Market. Def worth a stop in. Lots of affordable prints and not affordable but very nice originals.
What an amazing gallery to visit. I have always loved his work, and was not disappointed when recently we popped by.
A huge thank you to “Janine” for helping us with our purchases, so nice to meet someone so friendly and dedicated to her job and to his work.
Well worth a visit. Open 7 days too!
An Australian iconic artist with a very vibrant gallery. A good range of differing sized works are always available and the staff are able to easily assist with international and national postage.
Great feel and atmosphere when you walk in the door. Kens artwork is already obviously world renowned and the colour palettes on pieces exhibited almost cause the very walls to vibrate and resonate as you stroll past them. Quite an experience, a smorgasbord for your eyes and some nourishing food for your soul.
One of the most famous Australian artists. Keeps a consistent style, I remember this film when I was a child.
Just visited the gallery today. Staff very friendly and welcoming. Was there to purchase a gift for a colleague returning to Canada. Found just what I was looking for, the "Wish You Were Here" print to remember us by. I also got a limited print for myself. I have been eyeing it for months. Met the artist himself which was a bonus! Will definitely return as we have many rotational staff from overseas
We were interested in viewing the gallery on our visit to Sydney but got greeted at the door and told it wasn't a resturant. We knew it wasn't and were not looking for a resturant. Where they got that idea from we don't know!
Several of the sketches in the gallery were quite nice, however some of the recent paintings are looking a bit amateurish compared to earlier works. We had a good laugh at his painting of the Sydney Harbour Bridge and Opera house with a city building and aeroplane. I'd love to have bought it as a talking point for home, but my wife wouldn't allow me to spend the $24,000 asking price.
One of the happiest places you’ll visit in the big city, forget all your worries and dive into the joys of Ken’s palette.
Ladies behind desk need a quiet word about Customer service and people skills need to be addressed (blonde) at desk I found them rather uptight / stand off like love your work but you overprice the artwork you rush and underprice the art you put your time and soul into. Best of luck and enjoy your new year and Re check your prices and be honest to yourself.
I do art myself and enjoy observing.
Looking at your paintings and the time and detail Reminds me of a brilliant athlete that was born with skills and very passionate but once they know they are good you know the rest.
Not too may selections or exhibition. I remembered it used to be much larger years ago. But I like Ken Done's work very much though.
A Little but beautiful place in the rocks. I loved every single art there and my mind has been purified ever since I went there yesterday:) thank you Ken Done!
Like a lot of art styles, this is not for everyone.
The building though, is beautiful and the presentation and variety of merchandise is nice.
Lovely gallery of works by Australian icon Ken Done, beautiful and inspiring. Friendly and knowledgeable gallery staff will welcome you in to stroll about and enjoy the lovely original artworks on display. The gift shop has a wide range of prints and items that would make great souvenirs or gifts, like Ken Done Havaiana's flip flops, apparel and homewares. Highly recommend for anyone visiting the Rocks area.
