If your child is creative or has any mental health issues, don’t sent them here! This is coming from an ex TIGS parent and I know I am not the only one who feels this way from parents and students alike. They will not only cause mental health issues but not bother to properly help you with them once you have them. Instead, my child in her final year was told to “just go” for the final few months, instead of get support.

A complete waste of money that caused more harm than good.

You will be doing your child a great disservice by sending them here both educationally and mentally.

NOTE: Every single time I try to write my honest review, TIGS admin take it down. This is just further proof of their lack of care for their students and the harmful environment they foster.

I went to this school and it was awful. I was constantly bullied for being a proud vegan, and even had chunks of raw meat thrown at me by the teachers. Very bad school.

I had the worst experience going to this school. I hated every minute. Full of racists. DID NOT ALLOW ME TO CELEBRATE MY CULTURAL DIFFERENCE. DONT SEND YOUR CHILD HERE IF YOU ARE NOT CHRISTIAN, All show and no substance. DISGUSTED.

I have things to say but I don't want to be in trouble, the school is a good business, but is not a nurturing environment. They have blocked reviews so even if I wanted to on my school account then I would not be able to, they have also done this with websites like the chrome web store. It has become a strangling environment where we can't do anything with our emails, which for some people are the only ones they are allowed. It has stopped us from accessing these things which can just make your experience just a bit more enjoyable showing that they care more about the education than the mental health.

Absolutely awful.i was bullied relentlessly and the teachers did nothing about it.i constantly tried to get help but as i said before, they did nothing.when i finally tried to defend myself and stand up to my bullies I GOT IN TROUBLE! The school took me out of class for a week and tried to paint me as some violent monster to my classmates.not one teacher is decent and %95 percent of what they teach is focused around god and the bible.i get it, its a christian school, but i bet my house that %89 of the people that go there are not even christian.i cannot express in words how awful my experience here was. 1/5

They seem like a really good school and I would love to give them a chance but like the principal is a homophobe so how am I going to support that? Pretty sure being discriminative isn't one of your 'values' TIGS. Don't make it a religious debate when it clearly is just disgusting bias.

But like the students protested against it so I guess everyone there ain't that bad

I could not be more disappointed in a school. They promote their values as Christian and caring and from my experience, nothing could be further from the truth. They seem to care more about your capacity to pay than your child. Find another school!

It is truly reprehensible that this school wishes to maintain the right to expel LGBTQI+ students and teachers under the guise of religious freedom. What poppycock!

Hey I'm Kate; a student here at TIGS. Seen the reviews people are saying that TIGS is trash. I seriously disagree. Most teachers are just incredible, we have the best teaching facilities in the Illawarra, the littlest amount of bullying I have ever seen at a school, great support mechanisms, and a ginormous range of Co-curricular and sporting activities. I feel that TIGS is definitely worth the money. Good job.

I was invited by Scott MacBain from The Illawarra Grammar School (TIGS) to provide a LinkedIn Workshop for Year 12 students in the afternoon and another one for Alumni and Local Businesses in the evening on 14/9/18. Everyone that I met that day, from the person at the front desk through to students, staff in the library and alumni was polite, professional and friendly and went out of their way to provide an exceptional experience. Very impressed. Sue Ellson:)

My Daughter has been a student at The Illawarra Grammar School for just over a year now. I have seen her blossom into a wonderful, deeply respectful individual. The Teaching Staff, of whom I have met many, are deeply dedicated to the students, their education and to their growth as citizens of their community.

Run like a business, principal has the personality of a wet fish, costs roughly 4 times more than edmund rice, despite not being better.
