What a great place to stop in Urunga. We stopped here July 2023.
The owners are welcoming and have a lot of years making honey. They have a beehive you can view and watch the bees working and see the Queen Bee wondering around her hive. We were lucky to have a chat and got some great information on the bees. It is good to find out what actually goes into making your jar of honey. It is not that easy. Then go into the shop and drool over the selection of honey. We got the Coffs Coast Flora and it is genuinely the nicest honey we have both had. I am sure the other types on sale are equally as nice. Sadly, it was not possible to buy it all! We also got some choc honeycomb. That didn't last long. I would recommend making the time to stop and support such a great business. Thanks The Honey Place.

Amazing customer service and friendliness. A beautiful family owned business, worth the visit. I recommend tasting the honey, buy a jar of your favourite and then sit and have some on some scones. Forget the Big Banana, come visit the Big Beehive!

Found this little gem on the way to Coffs Harbour. We initially thought it was just a small shop selling honey, but it was much more than that! Behind the shop, they have an open area which has a live beehive display, plant nursery and small exhibit with interesting facts about different types of bees and the honey making process. There were also clean toilet facilities. While inside the shop, we had the chance to do a honey tasting session (like wine tasting but for honey!), in which we got to try different types of honey and briefed on how each of them was sourced and produced. It was highly informative and helped us to appreciate all the hard work put in to produce honey. Not to mention that the honeycomb ice cream we bought on the way out was one of the best we’ve tried. All in all a great experience!

Glad we stopped by here! Sure the educational side of things hasn't been updated in years but you still are able to learn something you previously didn't know. I enjoyed watching the bees work and when my husband had a question about one of the bees we saw the staff member who was on was able to answer with a great depth of knowledge. We loved the free honey tasting and ended up walking away with 2 different types of honey.

Good little honey shop selling various honey products. There are also real life working bees on display for children to see. There is also a box of no sting bee (never heard about it before). There are also some education display for different types of bees and life cycles. The displays were only made of laminated paper. Would love to see them framed to look more presented. The information is all very informative though. There is also a nursery selling ferns and flowers. Unfortunately when we went there there was no honey ice cream. Would love to come back to try it one day!

Always great to visit and taste all the honeys that are on sale. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Interesting artefacts and bee displays. Good also for coffee and food, either eat in or takeaway.

Pretty awe inspiring experience, witnessing first hand how honeybees make honey, along with the opportunity to taste a variety of locally grown honeys! The hosts are lovely people who were a pleasure to meet!

Wow, so glad we decided to stop here instead of the highway service centre. GREAT coffee, devo tea, muffins etc, served on the front verandah of a 100 yo farm house! (behind the main building). Kids loved the bee hive display and we all learnt something. Friendly staff too.
Thanks!

Nostalgic visit to a familiar place of 20+ years ago. Still great honey. Current owner is 2nd generation. Very friendly, and helpful source of local information.

Nice little place, last time I was here was in 2002! Loved the ice creams: the honey and honeycomb was the best, the honey and coconut (dairy free) was good too, but the honey taste was much stronger in the other ice cream. Also got some honey and eucalyptus drop and honey bears.

Still worth the visit since the Urunga bypass was opened. Great place to stop, browse, have a coffee and learn more about bees.

You have to stop here! It's only 5 mins off the freeway. It's free entry. We enjoyed seeing the live bee hive and trying to spot the queen. The owners are super friendly and told us some interesting facts about bees and showed us some specimens. We bought lots of beautiful honey and honey products. There are picnic tables to grab a coffee. My 9yo son loved it. Will definitely stop by again!

I highly recommend visiting this place. The family who has been running the business very professionally for generations is charming, knowledgeable and welcoming. The variety of seasonal honey on offer is delicious. The associated products on sale are very nice, make sure you try the honey icecream and soft drinks. There is a display of a working hive and a stingless bee house.

Friendly staff, lots of gift items. Honey tasting session was good. We ended up buying their leatherwood honey which was really good. Their lip balms and creams are awesome. Better than the stuff you get from the cosmetic places.
