The Grounds of Alexandria

Brilliant experience, on the theme of Alice in Wonderland. The decoration of the premises is exceptional, nothing is left to chance. On top of all that, we ate very well. A quality brunch.

Very disappointing. The corn fritters were hard and dry and basically inedible. Very poor experience and very disappointing for the kids.

Oh, the jolly Grounds of Alexandria, a Christmas wonderland or so they say,
But alas, we were met with average brekky plus signs of exclusivity on our way.
They checked our receipt before allowing access to the Xmas Laneway and warned of losing our table, oh what a fright,
And the parking, oh the parking, it was a terrible sight!

In this season of joy and light, we hoped for a more merry affair,
But instead, we found ourselves in a bit of a Christmas nightmare.
The Grinch himself would be impressed with such exclusivity and woe,
But fear not, dear Grounds, for this Christmas, we'll find cheer elsewhere to grow!

I wanted to love this place but.its bedlam. It's so narrow and absolutely packed. You can't really see any of the Christmas stuff through the people and bad layout. Even with a booking, you'll wait in line for the cafe. The breakfast food was fairly average. The pastries did look nice though. I would only go here for the coffee and cake in the future.

Had a lovely experience this morning when i took myself out for breakfast on my solo trip away for the night.was greeted with a smile and compliment, seated and waiters were prompt.had the delicious folded eggs, so tasty! And coffee so good i had to get another.highly recommend this place, it’s so beautiful!

It was a lovely place to visit with kids. Candyland theme is up until mid of October 2023. Entrance is free.

The place is beautiful! The downside of it is it attracts so many visitors. It's over crowded, the patrons don't get to enjoy it fully.

Only consider this place for food but the COFFEE IS WOEFUL!
Cheap asre beans and poor roasting resultsp in a memorable experience you wouldn't want to repeat.
Recommend a better quality Arabica and definitely get rid of that Robusta bean, the savings made using them isn't worth it by spoiling a quality Arabica bean - provided you use a quality Arabica.

The grounds of Alexandria is a very big place with a lot of things in it. They have a potting shed, linseed house, patio, cafe, garden and more. It takes more than an hour to explore everything. They also have BBQ places. They serve very good food and the event venue is very nice. Parking facilities and restrooms are available for grounds customers. Currently they have a Disney theme which is very attractive. Must visit. Highly recommend.

My mate sent me some dishes cooked by this company when I had COVID. I couldn’t recommend them higher. Outstanding food quality and taste with great presentation and containers. Friendly drop off too. Thanks heaps!

Absolutely messed up our Valentines night dinner which we had planned for some days. (order # 46446) We asked for delivery between 5.30pm & 7.30pm. At 7.45pm we started calling and leaving messages that we had not received our order - guess what? All the numbers rang out and no one had the decency to at least call back. The food eventually arrived just after 8.30 - thats NOT what we paid for -and then still needed at least 30 minutes to prepare. Your customer service in my opinion is non existent & needs some serious attention.

Great food delivered warm for an early morning breakfast! Even the banana bread was ready to eat and delicious!

The food is actually really good and I've been a consistent regular of The Grounds Alexandria for 3 years but after the most recent incident, I've decided to take my business elsewhere.

Ironically this was the only time I've been let down by the Grounds and it was the only time I really needed the food to be on time as it was a virtual celebration (embarrassingly - we were the hosts and had no food to join in with our guests).

I was disappointed not that the food was late, but that I had to chase them to get an ETA and I chased them via another driver who previously delivered food to me and not via the phone number they advertise on their website/invoices (apparantly, they don't answer the phone on weekends).

I totally understand that at times, these things happen and a simple phone call, text message, or even email would have been sufficient but alas, no one contacted me to advise the order would be late and as such our ordered was delivered 45 minutes after the scheduled delivery time.

I host a monthly "High-Tea" and have used various suppliers in the past and while I do recommend the Grounds (even if you only try them once) for the quality of food, I'm unable to recommend them for the service. What's more, they didn't even bother to refund (the measly) $5 delivery fee which I thought was highly insulting (as it was only $5) because after a long patronage, they felt a "sorry" suitable remedy.

That said, I can highly recommend the Sheraton Hyde Park for any high-tea needs as I've recently started using them.

Girlfriend ordered a Cakes and Tarts Box as a surprise for my family. Unfortunately, presumably in the rush of Mother's Day, the cakes arrived with a bit of damage from delivery. Upon contacting the Grounds, Jess was exceptional in solving our problem. Full refund and replacement sent out immediately, arriving within an hour. Couldn't be happier with the way this was handled.

Homemade cakes and tarts are delicious, perfect balance of sweetness, creaminess and texture.

Ordered a gorgeous cake less than a week out for the occasion I needed it for. Ordering process, cake and delivery was seamless. Also price point is very good. Highly recommend.

A place of beauty, and romance. Everything takes the attention. All the decorations are memorizing. And in the restaurant, foods come with a very friendly service will make you believe, everything is for you.

Beautiful spot but food is very average. The bowls are not really edible. Chucked mine in the bin after 3 bites. Such a shame cos the venue is lovely
