Excellent food, fantastic service and the culture was like a little slice of Greece in the heart of Hamilton. Went there for my partners work function and couldn't have felt more welcomed if they tried

Amazing food and service! I have coeliac disease and they catered for my needs so well! They made sure I was aware of what was gf and not, on the banquet and made me alternatives, even cooking it in a different fryer.

The food was excellent and they were so helpful accommodating gluten free requirements (even for the banquet). The restaurant is very child friendly and great for groups. We had a great night, so thanks The Greek Taverna!

Not only was this the nicest Greek food I've ever eaten, this was easily one of the most delicious food experiences I've had in Newcastle. Had the Dolmades, Keftedes, Moussaka, and Stickydate Pudding - all were the best of their kind that I've had before. Truly outstanding and cannot recommend highly enough. Will definitely be regularly returning to The Greek Taverna!

Don't be put off by looks of this place. The food is just scrumptious! I had to convince my friend to go in and try the food. But once our food orders began arriving it was very clear that we would back again soon. The bbq octopus was a highlight.

The food was great and seemed very authentic. The banquet is great value too, and you get a good selection of food to try, with decent portions. Add the desserts on to the end to top it all off. Would definitely recommend.

Meals that were prepared by the lovely Greek Yaya's. A little bit of traditional food prepared with love.

Going to this restaurant was a last minute decision and a good one. We selected the banquet and were served a variety of delicious Greek cuisine. The food was delivered to our table in a timely manner and the staff were delightful and helpful. Would gladly visit again.

Great food, great service. Table water was in Ouzo bottles and my water tasted of it which I liked, got to take one home so I can have Ouzo water also

It could only be five stars. The meals were beauiful, the service terrifically friendly. An absolute surprise package and we will return. Thankyou to the operators all six of us loved it. We had a banquet of $45 a head. Really enjoyed the films of the islands too

Very nice dips and pita made fresh - slow cooked lamb was very oily and dry though so probably wouldn't want to order that again. Service was great the whole night, would be open to trying it again

Fun place for New Year's eve celebration. Great feast of food. Excellent dance floor. Staff friendly and helpful.

The decore does not give any indication as to the brilliant good that will be coming. The meals are as good, if not better, than the home country.

Slow service! Cockroaches throughout the disabled toilets which house the baby change table, with wheelchairs and high chairs stacked so high you can actually use the change table or the toilet. Won't be back.

Food was excellent & so much variety. Cost per head was ridiculously low considering how much & how good

Very tasty food, seems quite authentic.
We had the banquet, the only negative is there were not enough items for the amount of people. We were a large group and the plates were meant to service 5, there were however only 4 chops.
