This place has stood the test of time. It is always a great place to eat with really good fresh food. The atmosphere is very nice and warm and the staff are relaxed and welcoming. We’ve been coming here for years l. It’s just full proof

Celebrated my birthday there on Sunday and everything was exceptional. We ordered most of the mezze plates and a few main dishes and everyone was very happy with the quality of the food. Our waiters kept checking on us to make sure we were ok and really took care of us. Well done to the team at Greek Islands Taverna.

My husband and I had the most wonderful dinner here tonight and the staff are just lovely. Thank you so much for our little escape to Greece! And a shout out to John for making me feel so welcome as a fellow Greek. We will definitely be back soon:)

All of the 5 star reviews must be family of the owners because we didn't have the 5 star experience, not even close.

Firstly we arrived and literally every male was asked if they would like a beer and every female was asked if they wanted a drink. Some of the young men who didn't even look old enough to drink who were asked, we didn't even have a drinks menu and it felt pushy.

The table had menus for their banquet only, we had to ask for a regular menu which felt sneaky like they wanted us to spend more.

The service was terrible, it took them over an hour just to take our order, meanwhile other groups had come after and were already getting their entree.

The food, the prices were astronomical and maybe could be justified if the meals were generous.
Partner got pork chops, there was two and they cut them into quarters to make it appear to be more or maybe they didn't know how to cook them and had to cut it up to check, there were some chips chucked on the plate and a 'salad' which was just a small amount of lettuce and a slice of capsicum (really just a garnish), all for the hefty price of $35. He also got haloumi which didn't arrive.

My meal as a vegetarian there wasn't many options, the salad was grossly overpriced and mainly lettuce (traditional Greek salad doesn't even have lettuce), I got the beans and far out $16 for a few spoonfuls of beans is highway robbery, the olive oil bread was more oil than bread.

Many people ordered the souvlaki which had the same underwhelming garnish for salad and chips and 3 meat skewers with dry meat, to top it of you have to purchase dip/bread seperate at $13 for a bowl of garlic dip and with the meat being so dry you didn't really have a choice by that point.

I am mortified by how much was spent by our table to receive subpar food and service, for the prices you expect good quality and decent portions.

Better of going to Zeus Street Greek.

Staff were friendly and service was quick but this place is WAY overpriced for the quality of food they dish up. Not only that but everything we had was overcooked and the lamb souvlaki had gristle indicating the poor quality produce.
Also our rubbery grilled octopus entree came out AFTER both our mains.
If you want good Greek food at a reasonable price I'd look elsewhere. We won't be going back.

Very underwhelming dining experience! Tables so close together you can join conversations with other diners. Our table was located right beside the bar/ counter. People entering and queuing to pay constantly bumped into me, one handbag nearly landing in my dinner. Wine was served but after waiting 10 minutes, had to get up and ask for a wine glass. Mains were served with our entree arriving half an hour later. Meals were pricey with many mains costing $43. Won’t be revisiting!

Cramped space, too many tables, missed serving one or our entrees, very slow service, water glasses on our table.but no water, menu expensive. Ordered a lamb casserole, just pasta with 2 chops thrown in. Would not recommend

We too a mate here for a lunch the day before his wedding to calm some nerves. The food was outstanding and came out super quick. The staff were great and happy to engage in a light hearted chat. We had a range of traditional dishes come out over the meal and this is definitely the way to do it so you can try all on offer. My favourite dish was the garlic chili prawns by far which were to die for. Highly recommend for a rustic Greek lunch that won't disappoint.

Absolutely beautiful food, but very overpriced. The spanakopita are fantastic, truly, but they're tiny and they're $4 each. Extremely expensive for what it is. Worth visiting once for great Greek food, but unless they reduce their prices it will most likely remain a special occasion only restaurant.

Great food and service. My only comment would be that there was too much lettuce in the Greek salad - mostly lettuce with a few pieces of tomato, onion, on top etc which was very overpriced at ~$25. Nonetheless 5/5 for based on overall expedite for a special occasion. Thanks.

I've been here a few times and the food generally has been great. Its all very fresh and tasty. The meat platter was a little overcooked for my liking. The waiters are all very friendly. The only downside is that when it's busy, which is most Saturday and Sundays, it's so noisy that it's very difficult to have a conversation with the people on your table. Perhaps some noise absorbing panels on the ceiling or walls would help.

Lots of nice greek style food
Our platers $100 per person selection for 4 people had too much food on them unable to eat it all. Octopus was a bit on the rubber side, but we've managed. Will pass on that next time

Went last night, so noisy, only 3 wait staff and 2 bar staff.
They could have had another seating in the time it took to get our orders taken and food delivery?
Arrived 6 pm entrees at 7.15 mains finally ordered @8. Desserts @ 8.45. Left @ 9.30
I realise it was a Saturday night, but the noise was loud we could not hear across the table.

Love this place. I shave been here multiple times with my neighbours Christmas parties which she invited her employees and closet friends and family. Went there with my mother for the first time after the full blown restrictions and still have one of the best service and freshest seafood there. Thank you for always giving us a lovely experience.

I have been coming to this restaurant for a decade and have always found the food to be excellent and the service to be just as good. John and the team are lovely and make you feel like one of the family.

Disappointing at best. Food was preheated, dry, not traditional and underwhelming. Dessert was microwaved and pastry chewy. The food lacked care in preparation and presentation.

The service way to efficient if you could call it that.we were the only ones in the restaurant and felt that we were being rushed. Again there was no care to give us an experience, but rather to bring all the food out at once and get us on our way. We had barely started the mezze plate and the hot octopus came out. It may have been tender but by the time we got to it it was cold, dry and rubbery. Overall the meal was underwhelming and expensive for what we ate.

Also as the COVID restrictions had been announced today, no one asked us to sign in and one out of possibly seven staff we saw was wearing a mask. Risky practices for the times we live in.

I’m surprised at the positive reviews as we must have eaten at a different restaurant! We won’t be coming back and won’t be recommending this place.
