67SINCE WHEN IS THIS A SCHOONER! $9.80 FOR BLOODY THIS! RIDICULOUS WHAT HAS THE WORLD COME TOO! NOT TO MENTION THEY CHARGER $2 FOR HAM ON THE PARMI!
Loved the food the open area and the atmosphere inside
If I have to do a criticism is about the stake's sauces, guys more effort on those!
Well i give it 5 stars is the atmosphere is good and there's plenty of room with little noise. There is ample good tasting food at a reasonable price same with the beer. Park is not usually a problem and the star seem very friendly. Comfortable place for children at an affordable price.
Cosy but small.like the pizzas.just shrinking yet price going up.within 6 months Thursdays $10 became $16.inflation with deflating pizza base?
So bitterly disappointed in our local. After taking our puppy to the outdoor area for weeks and many staff members telling us how cute he is, we encountered what could possibly be the rudest customer service from a staff member, telling us that the venue is not dog friendly. We totally understand this, but are somewhat perplexed as to how this only applied to my partner and I, not the couple sitting with a dog, a mere 15 metres away. The way in which we were spoken to is simply unacceptable, and uncalled for. A polite "sorry guys, we don't allow dogs here" would have sufficed, in place of barked orders, reminiscent of the schoolyard. To add insult to injury, be wary of the step outside that appears to be way too steep, with no indication of it's existence, and could lead to someone falling and breaking 3 bones in their arm like I did a few months ago.
Decent bar, reeks of urine from outside though and in certain spots outside you can also smell the bathrooms.
This place is so bad since they made the outdoor area non smoking, no cook your own steak and removed the pool room. Everything that was "great" I'm never coming back.
Disappointed the the self steak cooking station was gone. But overall the steak was still as yammy as it was 3years ago. Friendly staff. Nice place to chill for a beer after work.
A good hotel but someone from there should visit Pizza Riccardo (PR) in Narrabeen and compare the prawn pizza there with yours and try to figure out how to get close to matching PR’s flavours.
Great place for good quality pub food, we love the steaks here. And the atmosphere is always cosy. Tends to get crowded so bookings recommended.
Fantastic staff, great food, good drink options. Personally, I love going during the day (I work nights) as it isn't terribly busy and the quiet atmosphere allows me to get work done, read, crochet, etc in peace. However, evenings the post-work crowd brings a great vibe to the place and trivia night is so much fun on Tuesdays!
Not dog friendly. Entered via the beer garden and took a seat outside. Was told to leave as dogs are not allowed, even in the outdoor area. Pathetic!
Couldn’t fault a single thing about The Great Northern. Staff are friendly, food was quick and extremely good quality. Loved my steak and the parmi also went down a treat.
Recommend popping in for dinner or lunch
Had a hole in a pipe and had to shut the water off to the house, they were super quick and got us up and running right away. Fast service, very polite and affordable. I hope I don’t need a plumber again but if I do I would use them.
Arrived on a Sunday to treat my old man to a Pork Roast for lunch and a couple of beers. Great atmosphere in a sun filled courtyard at the rear of the pub if you choose to sit outside. Service is fast and friendly and the food selection and prices are on par without feeling gouged! The roast was plentiful and tasty. I’d go back on a weekday for all the specials they offer at fantastic prices. Parking on side street. Do yourself a favour and give it a try.
From the time I ordered my meal the young lady behind the bar had attitude. I asked for 2 main garlic pasta prawn meals nicely, I then asked for some garlic bread nicely, the response was 'NO" we don't do garlic bread, well ok I said. I then asked do you have any bread at all 'NO" the response with attitude and a half again. I then ordered a entree salt and pepper squid and said thank you and paid for the 3 dishes, my buzzer was handed to me very quickly. My mate standing next to me the whole time asked for 2 waters please, the reply with attitude again was there is water and glasses around the corner my mate and I just looked at each other with shock. The funny thing is my mate teachers the RSA courses for a living. Waiting for our meals we spoke about the young ladies attitude and the buzzer went off and I went to collect our meals only one main was ordered by that lovely young lady, when questioned about it she couldn't care less. I ate the entree whilst my mate ate his main and took my main meal when it was finally cooked home for take away. The food was great however the service was disgusting never again.
It was still fairly quiet when we left at 9.30pm Friday. The place was nicely decorated with some interesting historical photos on the walls and enough space between tables we didnt feel likd sardines.
The food service was prompt and there's a good selection on the menu. The fish and chips were so tasty and the tartar sauce perfect. The generous amount of it was also a very pleasant surprise. I'm usually running short lol
I'd be more than happy to return for another meal
We had a lovely Mother's Day lunch at The Great Northern Hotel.
There is a good amount of outdoor dining area out the back, which is appreciated in these times when ventilated areas is appreciated.
There was good parking availability on nearby Bowen Street.
The staff here are super friendly. Excellent beer garden under the tree out the back. Reasonably priced food, and the quality of the food is pretty good for pub food too.
Very lively and busy pub with lots of tables. Fairly standard beers on tap so don't expect anything craft. I ordered the eye fillet steak and it was delicious. A little more cooked then I ordered, but was juicy and tender. Great atmosphere and friendly staff.
