Nick Hale quoted on and provided samples of a quality synthetic grass from FieldTurf Australia, (Summer Prestige 40mm), but instead installed a generic cheap Chinese plastic looking grass. After he finished laying the grass the Summer Prestige sample mysteriously disappeared despite him leaving a bin full of off-cuts. When I initially queried him he argued it was the correct grass but admitted he had ordered from a different company which he had done so over a 100 times before. I took a sample of his grass to FieldTurf who, at a glance, confirmed it wasn't theirs. He then agreed to replace the grass with Summer Prestige but despite being patient and numerous attempts to contact him I've heard nothing further. He originally did send me a copy of his invoice from FieldTurf for the replacement grass but they have since confirmed that he cancelled that order. Grass Bros are both unprofessional and blatantly dishonest.
I needed to pay a professional installer to fix his dodgy work and replace the grass with what I ordered in the first place. The contrast in the quality of work was huge. It now looks like something out of a House and Garden magazine. Despite paying for the job twice it was worth it to see it done properly where it adds value not takes away value from my home.
I reported Nick Hale and the Grass Bros to the Dept of Fair Trading.
He states in his reply that what he supplied was a perfectly acceptable alternative. Hopefully when he orders and pays for his next Mercedes they will deliver a perfectly acceptable Holden instead.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS! All these reviews are fake - go to Product Review website and type in the grass bros for the real ones. We hired him, paid the deposit and he just ghosted us. Started making up excuses that he was sick and his phone stopped working. Now we've had to lodge a complaint through the department of fair trading to try and get our deposit back. VERY UPSET! I'll be ignoring any responses they may make on here as well because I know he will lie and try and cover his tracks somehow. If you don't want a headache and to lose your money, avoid this fake company.

We have photos of inadequate installation, property damage and copies of all social media and email threats.
Unsurprisingly the owners response has avoided the issue. The grass installed is faulty and needs to be replaced, our garage now floods every time there is heavy rain and the lawn remains uneven.
This is why he was suppose to have come back to our job. The fact he made an absolute mess is secondary. Me speaking to him rudely? He has not answered a single call since we paid him so how is this even possible? The personal threats sent to me have also been saved for future legal action and are disturbing.
Owners response is example of business ethics. Please check out all of the negative reviews and terrible terrible experiences and DON'T RISK YOUR MONEY.

STEER CLEAR! Don't know how there are so many reviews that are completely opposite to the service I experienced. Easily the WORST business I have ever dealt with. He does not answer calls and says its a "phone issue" but if he thinks its new business or a quote he will miraculously answer (my husband calling).
Do not use the Grass Bros unless you want the most frustrating experience of your life. I'm sure the owner will make excuses and reply back to this but I have dealt with many businesses in my life and this was the most unprofessional, poor excuse for a business. I spoke to another lady who had the same experience and is now going through lawyers.

I paid my 50% deposit, was quoted on a particular type of grass that I wanted, confirmed via text multiple times the product I was receiving, he switched it on me and tried to not say anything. I have never heard of you getting a quote and paying for a product for a business to switch it without even once mentioning it.
He booked my job in, we waited a coupe of weeks. I texted to confirm, as i hadn't heard from him, sure enough he cancelled. No worries, rebooked the following week the grass was delivered but Nick was no where to be found. That was now the second day off work we took for absolutely nothing. Claims it was a "issue with the soil delivery". Soil turn up the next day, the soil company told me the order was only put in this morning. Now we have tonnes of soil and grass (sitting in the hot direct sun for two days now). No Nick in sight, refusing to answer calls. Tells me when I explain I need to know when the job will be done "relax it will get done" sorry mate but thats not how business works. When you book someone in you show up or call to let them know your not coming. We get a live tracker notification to say he has shown up at our house (luckily did not take the 3rd day off from work) we arrive home, he was never there still tonnes of soil and turf out the front, cant get a hold of him, no sign of when the job will be done, gave us the wrong product. There was so many other things. Dealing with him was a complete headache easily the worst business i have ever used! AVOID AVOID AVOID AT ALL COSTS refuses to communicate, takes your money, dodgy business!

Nick was an absolute pleasure to deal with. He laid my artificial turf and ensured that my garden was left neat and clean. I had an issue with my grass and he came back the next day to sort it out. I was very grateful for his service and would highly recommend his services based on price and service offered

Nick did a good job on my synthetic lawn installation. Despite the wet weather Sydney had over the few weeks, Nick stayed in touch and worked very hard to get it done. His lifetime workmanship warranty is more than just a line on a quotation, Nick treats his job with care and came back to fix the grass despite my changing requirements. Overall happy with the product and install. Would recommend and even get him back to do the front in the future.

We couldn’t be happier with the quality of our new synthetic grass. What others have said about the cleanup is correct. Nick even power washed our mouldy rear tiles, making them look good as new at no charge! Very happy. Thanks Nick
