The Genesian Theatre Company Inc reviews
13Cute theatre with a very personal vibe, could do with some minor renovations. Great intro by an Agatha Christie biographer and good set of actors. Will be back! Thank you!
A small intimate theatre with lovely staff. Probably uncomfortable when crowded, but it was quiet during my visit and eminently pleasant. Remarkably reasonable prices too.
This intimate little theatre right in the heart of Sydney is an absolute gem.
The current performance of The Hollows is sensational. Great staging and acting along with a fast paced story
Wonderful amateur theatre company.
Streetcar named desire was performed brilliantly.
We've seen some great performances that have been sensibly priced from this theatre in the past
The hound of the Baskervilles was not one of these. The cast stumbled over lines several times and performances seemed too self indulgent as they alternated between comedy and farce.
Streetcar was a great production. Thoroughly enjoyed it. We might perform it at Maitland Repertory Theatre.
I've been going to the Genesian with a group of friends for many years; it's amazing. This play, My Family and Other Animals is excellent, and we're all looking forward to seeing Sherlock of course!
Wonderful production of the classic play Summer of the 37th Doll. Great acting, production and directing. Lovely staff / volunteers serving refreshments. Charming venue and stage set. Always a pleasure to visit the historic Genesian Theatre.
A cheap and very entertaining night of quality community theatre. I have been to a few plays by this theatre company now and haven't been disappointed. The Genesian Theatre is close to Town Hall Station and there are great restaurants nearby for a pre-show meal.
Performance I saw "murdered to death" was outstanding and the theatres character is outstanding.
I went there to see the rarely performed Noël Coward play, "Home Chat". I thoroughly enjoyed my night out. The play was witty and clever, the volunteers (staffing the bar) friendly and the converted church with its own character and ambience. What was not to like?
Old charming church. Seating is very close to the stage for a more old fashioned live theatre experience.
A beautiful experience, like stepping back to a nicer time, unfortunately the venue is to become a victim to developers in the near future.
