Sensational food. The egg Foo! Wow great coffee, can get super busy, they specialise in breakfast and brunch.
Housemade sourdough is awesome, can buy fresh loaves from Mrs Bread.
Helpful, friendly service.

Simply exceptional. Lovely ambience, genuine seeming owners and staff who care about their customers. The small menu lends itself to quality ingredients and well executed dishes.
I genuinely cannot express how moreish the scones were. The homemade kim chi was so divine that I bought a large jar to take home - my gut is already singing its praises. Thank you! Love the ethos and care you have put into everything here.

Bloody good, every single time! Some surprising creative Asian-fusion dishes here that are executed impeccably. Hats off to the chef!

Beautiful spot in Kangaroo Valley with a modern menu and lovely natural light. Lots of homemade bits (preserves, kombucha, etc) as well!

Had an amazing black rice porridge and am planning to come back for their famous scones.

Easy street parking

The General Cafe and Restaurant is one of the reasons we keep going back to Kangaroo Valley.their attention to detail whilst serving up the most delicious offerings is outstanding. This place never fails me.no matter what I order, I leave like a Cheshire cat with a very happy and full belly. Can't get enough! Did someone say Miso sourdough.

Such a delight! We stayed nearby for two nights, and came back here both mornings because we loved it so much. Amazing quality food, genuine smiles and friendly service, and the homemade breads and jams are just exquisite! We took a loaf home, and our little son enjoyed it as well. Can’t wait to be back again

This was indeed one of the most horrible cafes we have been to around Country NSW towns…. The lady at the counter was outright disrespectful with an outrageous attitude…she nudged our friend on the arm and said “ i will serve you later! ” And for no good reason. Had it not been long weekend and a total waste of time dealing with that “trashy” attitude, we would have gone to the police station to report her in for assault! One cannot for no reason breach a physical boundary of touch whilst talking. Not even worth the one star!

Fantastic brunch restaurant in town! The best scons we've ever had! So soft and crunchy add the cream and jam and it's bliss! The ingredients were so fresh and dishes well put together, broccolini so sweet, french toast so yummy. Met Tony afterwards and was real good talking to him.

This cafe makes divine food and drinks with a great homely, earthy atmosphere. The staff are very friendly. The service is very quick, even on busy days. Highly recommend.

A great cafe for breakfast / brunch at Kangaroo Valley. Their freshly squeezed OJ is not to be missed. They have also have a tinge of Asian fusion.

While waiting for our takeaway coffee, had lovely little wholesome chit chat with all the kind ladies who worked there as they knew we weren't from the area. Was so blown away with the quality of the coffee that we returned the next day from our airbnb not realising they were closed so make sure you check the days they open if you plan on visiting:)

I had a strange and unpleasant experience the one time I went here. I ordered a coffee, asking how strong they were, was reassured, so stuck with a single shot. Then when I received it, it was not strong enough, so I asked for an extra shot. A woman charged up to the barista and I (presumably the owner? Manager?) and virtually threw the cost of a coffee at me and told me to get out. I was so shocked by this outburst of unnecessary aggression I didn't think to tell her I'd paid 50c more for soy milk, actually!

Thanks but no thanks. She can keep her coffee and I'll keep my 'tourist dollars'. So rude. So out of order. Country folk need to get their priorities in order if they run businesses and polite customer requests upset them. Though I'm regularly in KV because my MIL lives there, I'll never go back there again.

Scones, Jam and Cream is great, and the fruit toast is too. Coffee is nice. Service is always good, even when busy.

The coffee was excellent, the croissant was fresh and delicious and the place is cosy and quaint!

Such a lovely place for brunch or I should say a "Late Brunch" on a Friday. It was around 12: 30pm when we came across this cute little Cafe, on our way to Sussex Inlet.
Before sitting down on the tables outside the cafe, I walked inside and approached the waitstaff behind the counter and ask if the kitchen was still open. He politely replied that it would be closing in 15mins but we were more than welcome to sit on the tables outside for as long as we pleased. We quickly went through the menu and ordered the Loral special, French toast and croissant with jam, plus 2 coffees and a housemade orange juice.
I seemed like just a few minutes passed and the food was already arriving at our table.
And WOW! Such incredible food. The croissant was the fluffiest, crispy and airy croissant I have ever tasted.
The Loral special looked like perfection on a plate and tasted fresh and crisp with the right balance of salt and pepper.
The French toast was made on a thick brioche slice of bread (I think!) which soaked up all the egg batter and mixed with bacon, maple syrup and banana was the ultimate combination bomb.
And with the bacon and egg roll we removed the mayonnaise and BBQ sauce from our order and it still tasted delicious, soft and full of fresh flavours.
This is a must stop for anyone in and around Kangaroo Valley. Just don't arrive late or you'll be disappointed you missed out!

Could not fault this place and if you only want to try scones with jam and cream once in your life time, make this the place. They were outrageous!

This cafe was a pleasant surprise! The coffee was great, while the food was tasty and had good portions. The biggest highlight were the super friendly staff, whom were very accommodating and attentive from start to finish (certainly one of the best service we have encountered in NSW). Will definitely come back when we visit the area again. Hopefully the road closures to kangaroo valley can be fixed soon so the local businesses wont be as impacted.

First experience in Kangaroo Valley. Cute little Cafe wanted to grab a coffee with my partner. Waited patiently in line and when asked what we would like from the owner we were greeted with complete sarcasm as the power was out and we were unaware. Feeling bad and wanting to support a small local business we decided to purchase some baked goods but were made to feel like an inconvenience.

We thought maybe the owner was just under stress due to the power outage so we decided to let it slide.

Day 2 we returned back to the Cafe as everything else seemed a little quiet. The staff and food was lovely although it was extremely evident and uncomfortable That the energy from the manager was rude and quite mean to her lovely staff. My partner and I witnessed 2 team members being scolded at infront of other customers which made the atmosphere rather awkward.

Overall not sure how the owner gets away with this behaviour. Appreciate your staff and customer turn over as your attitude is awful.
