The Forum Sports & Aquatic Centre reviews
23The pool facilities are reasonable however gym access is woeful. It's absolutely untenable to be trying to access weight racks and machines when people are sitting down at them just staring at their phones for 15-20 minutes at a time. Approaches have been made to front desk staff with no response & no improvements. This behaviour doesn't happen at West's - I recommend going there instead.
Pool is an easy 5 though frequently very busy. Gym is ok but inadequate air conditioning with windows open on 40°C+ days. Also painted in dark greys which is rather drab. Parking can be an issue and costs extra during the day. Gym staff friendly and accommodating. Overall a good facility and definitely worth a look.
Great service for entering and leaving.
Cheap to enter the swimming pool, sometimes the laps are all taken up but the people swimming are also so nice and willing to share. I’ve had a few chats with all ages, (mostly my mum does the talking) but such a great community to be at to do some laps.
Parking is okay
Life guards are chill
Overall a good place to go and get your laps in ️
Been a member for a couple of years now. Great facility and community. Shout out to the staff as well.
Plenty of cheap paid parking around the Pool. Some free parking behind the pool. Directions for car travel were good.
Nice place with newly built changing rooms. Worth for the price and operating time is great
Went in for a day pass, they only do "casual passes", wasn't made clear at the start. No information, guidance, tours, waviers or anything else.
Really need to clear up that process of casual visits and have a set process for everyone that comes in. Also who pays $20 for 2 hour limit of the gym! Most do $10-$20 for the day, but as I said if that's the way it is, it needs to be clear from the start.
Guy at reception was helpful and nice on arrival and when leaving. Young girl was disinterested in my issue and unhelpful in solving it.
The best gym I've been to in Newcastle. Great classes, friendly staff and the best pool for laps.
Lovely staff and clean facilities, the view from the pool is stunning.
Having fantastic results from kids’ swimming lessons
The guys at the front desk are super helpful and energetic. Swimming lessons are fine just usually difficult to find an available car park.
I bring my mask everyday. But today I went only to Zumba lessons. I was not going to wear my mask there (obviously). The girl at the reception was very rude and forced me to buy a mask which I haven’t even touched. I left immediately after my Zumba lesson. Are they trying to earn a profit by forcing a mask on everyone at double the retail price! Appalling!
My time at The Forum was so special and I’m so heartbroken to have moved away! All the instructors were incredible, the front reception staff always had a smile and the gym is everything I needed. There is such a good vibe and community feel, I’m really going to miss it. Special mention to Kristy, her classes were my absolute favourite! She made me laugh and I had so much fun with her. Will miss you guys so much.
Water is a little bit cold. Opening hours is stills 8: 00 pm. It’s better to back to 10: 00 pm. Also, parking is a common issue.
Very nice pool which I enjoy coming to every week for my water aerobics sessions and the staff are very helpful and friendly
Pool Reno's look good, clean and fresh. It was about minus -25°c in the guys change but other than that it was really good.
Excellent facilities, cheap prices (especially for students), and friendly staff. The PT sessions are great and well worth the price, as you get a lot out of just one session.
The gym and pool are always clean and if you time it right, you can almost have the place to yourself.
Love this gym. It is the best gym I have ever been to and I have been to many in Sydney and some overseas.
I can only hope they open up a new extension gym like they have at Harbourside in the Maitland area as its a little too far for me these days.
The classes and staff are awesome!
The staff are always so friendly here and the facilities are great.
Gerard has amazing customer service and is a complete professional in everything he does. Thank you
Amazing gym. Best in Newcastle. I love the energy and staff are so friendly. Best equipment too
A very good complex to do swimming or gym work in. It really does cater for the young and old. Can get a bit bussy in there on the weekends as swim classes and aqua aerobics and swimmers all in the pool. Only thing to mention is the parking can be hard sometimes.
