The Fabric Store

I'm returning to sewing and gaining my bearings around relearning and Claire was so helpful! She assisted with finding my ideal fabric/zipppers, reading my pattern, and was super patient in the entire process. Katie also helped out and made a lot of recommendations that'll make my transition into sewing much easier.
Really cute space as well!

Excellent fabric quality. Poor in-store experience. I felt rushed choosing my fabrics, staff are friendly but too pushy. Fashion designers need to see fabrics and colors together to see if they work or not, it takes time. And the store was empty, there's no excuse. Going to the store in pointless, I'll just go online and not loose my little free time again.

This has some amazing silks, linen fabric.omg.and leather pieces.
Nightmare for parking. But worth it!
But they did not know what damask was. Girls.really.

Lovely store. Friendly staff members. Bought materials for my child’s school lesson making board shorts. Our purchase and receipt were beautifully packed and bagged. To our surprise we were given school discount, which we didn’t realise till later on looking at the receipt. Definitely recommend The Fabric Store and will come back again.

A real fabric store, world class.plus staff aren't snooty and they know their products. I love the space too, luxuriously roomy

To quote Mary Poppins- practically perfect in every way, rang this shop in search of some jacquard, Silks for a project I was working on, was told I was welcome to come see what they had, so I did, I'm the first to admit once unless I've been to the area two or three times I have no idea where I've got to be, and sometimes maps sends you in the wrong direction as it did me.

I rang this store several times, for directions, and they were very understanding, when i walked in there they recognised my voice straight away-the young staff member who served me went out of her way to assist, me showing me countless different fabrics for the project I was working on, as she showed me the fabrics they had I thought how well stocked it was, for diy projects, leathers, rayon, silk, sorry no jacquard or patterned silks, as I thought about the project I thought how light and large the store was, and reasonable the prices were.

Would deffinatly recommend this store to everyone in an instant

Beautiful shop, lovely staff and some very nice fabrics. I felt the range was a bit limited but that's only because I didn't find what I was looking for.

This is my favourite shop in Sydney. I am a keen sewer and they have the best stock of quality fabrics including a whole range of Liberty cottons. Always a good experience to go there as the staff are welcoming and helpful.

Just wonderful customer service! I am in a wheelchair and unfortunately can not access via the Cooper St entrance. I called for a specific type of material and the lovely lady on the phone was happy to bring the two fabrics to the front entrance on the street for me to have a look - when I picked one she went back inside to cut and brought the eftpos machine with her.

So grateful for lovely people like this! Also advised me I may be able to access the back entrance through the car park next time so I can actually look on the main floor.

I visited the fabric store this afternoon and the staff there were absolutely wonderful and very helpful except for Lorraine. She was extremely rude and passive aggressive towards my friend and I.

I was with a group of 3 other ladies and from the get go Lorraine assumed we weren’t all purchasing fabric and only allowed 2 of us into the store. My friend and I were waiting outside and one of Lorraine’s lovely colleagues placed us on the waitlist to enter the store. Lorraine only allowed my friend into the store if we could confirm that we would be purchasing something.

As my cousin was finishing up with her transaction Lorraine requested my friend and I to leave the store as there were two people waiting outside to enter. Had Lorraine taken the time to check she would’ve realised I was intending on making a purchase once my cousin completed her transaction.

I’m not one to complain and make a fuss so my friend and I politely left the store and waited outside. One of Lorraine’s colleagues kindly placed us back on the waitlist to re-enter the store. As we were waiting, to my surprise Lorraine rubbed my name off the waitlist.

I understand that due to covid, restrictions need to be in place to control the number of people in the store at any one time. However this does not give the right for staff members to deny or make it difficult for customers to enter the store.
