The DEA Store reviews
37An amazing selection of homewares, art, pottery, gifts and more. I purchased the most beautiful reclaimed Australian timber pepper mill and a divine lemon myrtle soy candle. Will be back for sure.
What a treasure trove of amazing quality items - they certainly do their research and the staff are so informative and friendly.
Highly recommend
Simply the most beautiful and different home items ever. The pottery is beautiful whether sourced locally or handpicked in Japan and the rest of it is just as unique. I have a set of salt and pepper mills based on Turkish coffee grinders that I love almost more than life itself now! Staff are super nice and know the stock well. Walk past sometime and scope the window, it's like an art gallery. I come here whenever I need something special for a gift. BEST housewarming gifts ever. Saved my butt before Mother's day more than once.yeah, i'm baaaaad with dates.
A carefully curated gallery, the perfect place to buy artist-made gifts for loved ones and self. Both stores are unique and well worth a visit.
Beautiful and unique homewares and jewellery that you don’t often see in other places. Great place to find a special gift for someone, and lovely people!
Went to find gift for my parents. I was surprised to see a huge range of unique pieces. I was served by a lovely lady. Bought beautiful ceramic pieces, and my parents loved them!
I’ve been shopping here for more than years now! It’s great for gift too:) They always have amazing selections of Australian and Japanese made products. People there are always nice and friendly!
I love this little shop. Karin and hinako both have impeccable taste and have helped me pick out the perfect pieces for my new place. I will be back for sure
Everything your heart desires in a small and magical shop. Well-designed goods for the home including a beautifully curated collection of handmade ceramics from Japan and Australia. A great place to shop for gifts!
My go to place for any kind of gifting. They always have unique, quality pieces for every occasion. Staff is knowledgeable and very helpful. Love my new mugs.will be back soon!
I recently purchased a pair of earrings at DEA store. The owner let me try them on while in the store and I purchased them soon after doing so. However after a few minutes of wearing them, my ears began throbbing, burning and swelling. When I re-visited the store, explained the situation of my reaction to the earrings, and asked for a refund, she became very hostile, called me a liar, told me that she does not do refunds, and said that I should take the matter up with NSW fair trading. I have done so.
Your hostility and bullying did not make me want to stay in your store. I have never had such a negative customer service experience.
I’ve been going to The DEA Store for years & have been fortunate enough to collect some magnificent (mostly ceramics) pieces of art ware, both for my home & for gifts for others. Karin has an incredible gift for spotting both Australian & Japanese talent, supporting both emerging & established artists. To have so many magnificent pieces in one place is incredible. It’s like visiting a unique gallery in the heart of Redfern. It brings me such deep joy! Karin, thank you for introducing me to some fabulous artists! Tim a Taylor is one in a million!
The only store I shop at in Sydney.
Incredible ceramics and artworks by local and international artists as well as one off beautiful homewares.
Karin and her team also offer the best customer service, including personal recommendations. A+
Such a joy to be present in this store - talk about a ceramic candyland! You can tell every piece is chosen chosen for more than their beauty and functionality:)
You want it, they got it. Even if you don't want it, you gonna want it. Check it and you'll wanna get it.
Easily my favourite store in Sydney. The Japanese and Australian ceramics are the stars, but Karin has an eye for all sorts of interesting homewares.
Visiting is always a delight, and there's a lot more in the store than is shown on the website.
Love this shop! Gorging on ceramics in a multitude of textures, shapes, styles. Dont know where to start. Great for gifts large and small. Eclectic and sublime.
I bought a few bowls from the online store. I wrote at least 7 letters asking for the tracking code and they never reply, nor did I receive the package.
This shop is the most wonderful ode to utilitarian beauty. The DEA Store (which stands for ‘Delicate Eye Area’) sources objects for the home and kitchen based on the art of craftsmanship. Their selection is witty, playful and big on Japanese ceramics. You will also find some beautiful pieces of art- from paintings to small sculptures and one of a kind objects - like the whimsical ‘totems’ by local artist Michelle Connolly currently at the shop.
Incredible and handmade pieces from all over the world and the most helpful advice and guidance on products! Thanks!
