I didn’t think this kind of old world charm and hospitality still existed. Absolutely superbly done. Stayed four nights and still didn’t have enough time to take in all the fabulous artwork. Thanks Davids!

A gem in the Blue Mountains. David is such a caring and attentive host, the room was great, and the guesthouse beautiful. We had a relaxing and peaceful stay here, would highly recommend!

We stayed 3 glorious nights at the guesthouse. We loved the whole feel of the place. Our room was very clean as were the lounge and dinning room. The breakfast was excellent and our host David could not have been more accommodating. We purchased a take away dinner one night from a local Thai place. When we returned to eat, David had set a beautiful table for us and provided us utensils etc, a very thoughtful touch. We enjoyed relaxing by the fire at night, it was a very peaceful experience. The art and collectables were amazing, each day we seemed to see something new. We would defiantly go back again.

We stayed 5 nights in this beautiful guesthouse so we had enough time to enjoy the fantastic art collection. Every morning we had an healthy breakfast in the historic diningroom. David and David are excellent hosts who make you feel at home. Room was clean and taken care of every day. Very nice location to explore the blue mountains.
So, if you ever dreamed of sleeping is an museum, this is your chance! Highly recommended.

Absolutely enjoyed every moment! Wonderful breakfast. David S and David M are fantastic hosts. Perfect in every detail. They asked me if I had any food restriction. I am lactose intolerant, and he offered lactose free milk. Bedroom had a bath and very comfortable bed. The Chalet has its own history, and all pictures, paintings, and pottery have a history. They have a perfect taste for ambient music. They answered and gave me good tips about what to do in Blue Mountain. I will be back again!

I go to The Chalet for incredible meals. We've been lucky enough to see Opera singer Brad Cooper here a couple to times. Being local, I haven't stayed at The Chalet but would love to!

A really lovely experience. My work colleague and I were really looked after. Sometimes travelling for work can be difficult and stressful, but David and David were both wonderful hosts. I highly recommend them for anyone wanting to stay in the mountains. 10/10

A place definitely to revisit. Accomodation was great and the hosts were wonderful. A home away from home.

The Chalet Guesthouse is a treasure, and after our first memorable trip, we have already booked to return in the coming months. The room was airy with natural light, yet cosy and warm. I appreciated the underfloor heating during the rainy spring days, and of course the log fire in the common room.

What first caught my eye when I was browsing online was how large the artworks on the walls are, and when we arrived, they were absolutely stunning. I also admired the pottery all throughout the dining room, bedroom and hallway, and we had a fascinating chat about art with David Middlebrook, one of the owners, who is a full time artist himself. The other owner, also named David (Scotman), was friendly and efficient with our check in process, breakfast and serving drinks (cheaper than going to the pub!)

Thank you for a wonderful stay, and we can't wait to return!

We loved our stay here! The location is great and the actual accomodation is delightful and covered in art and collectibles to look at. Our room had a comfy bed and big bath, with nice comforts like robes, and tea and biscuits. The breakfast was ample and great (toasts, cereals, muesli, fruits, yoghurt, beverages). There’s a nice sunny dining room and birds come to eat seed outside the massive window. The hosts were lovely and kind, helpful and had lots of insider knowledge for walks and activities in the area. I recommend this place! We stayed as a young couple but there were older people as well as a family and a pair of friends, so suitable for many types of groups.

Peace and tranquillity is what is best to describe this absolutely beautiful place. The work and detail the has been assigned to every room is a credit to the owners. We stayed two nights and enjoyed every bit of it and so relaxing especially the main dining room with the big windows looking out into the garden. To the owners keep up the magnificent work you put into you property. I would thoroughly recommend you come and stay at this beautiful chalet.

Great place to stay. Plenty of art and history pieces to look at around the house. The area is nice and quiet. There is a large dinning/living area with a fire to relax in. David was very friendly and was very easy to deal with.

TIP: I would recommend booking dinner in around the area as most places were super busy or booked out.

This is a delightful place to stay. David is extremely welcoming and helpful. The room was warm and comfortable. There is art everywhere, adding an extra special touch. It is in a peaceful setting away from heavily touristed areas and very calming. Highly recommended.

The Chalet guest house and studio is one of those places where you simply stop and breathe! As soon as we arrived we were made to feel very welcome and shown round the hotel, it’s like coming home! The incredible art work and beautiful objects of fascination are a wonderful addition, everywhere we looked we saw something new and interesting! The beautiful fire and old chesterfield couches were the perfect end to a day out bushwalking! We will definitely be back, we genuinely didn’t want to leave! Comfort, style and wonderful hospitality made for an incredibly relaxing few days away! Many thanks David and Phil!
