The Candy Store reviews
46A great old fashioned lolly shop. Lots of old favourites and lots of other chocolates and lollies. Prices are fair and staff are great. Be aware it can get busy and a little crowded at times. I will shop there again.
Was there around 1pm today. It's a great shoppe, with great selection. The 2 staff members could hardly have been less interested though. If they had even been half engaged, would probably have gone 5 stars.
Lovely store! Super big selection and good pricing. A must see on your visit to the Blue Mountains:)
Always visit the
Is shop when visiting Leura. A fun experience to check out some lollies.
To the girl wirh coloured hair on Sunday 7th may that I tried to help open the door because it was stuck from the cold. You are stunning and I so wanted your number
Always been a cute little store for years and years.
We have been coming to the Blue Mountains for years and this was a magical place to come.
I was disheartened going in today. The place looks unkempt. A lot of the jars were empty and looked dirty. The girl behind the counter did not acknowledge me and left the phone to ring out.
The magic is gone
A hidden gem - we go every time we’re in the blue mountains. You understand the saying “like a kid in a candy shop”!
This shop used to be a lovely experience. Visited today and won't be back. The man behind the counter didn't pause from his angry phone conversation the whole time we were in the shop. Customers meekly offering their payment to have the card reader shoved at them. Never lifted his gaze to acknowledge a single customer. Half the lolly jars empty. A general lack of care. Don't give him your money.
Worst customer service ever. The horrible man serving us didn't even bother to get of the phone while he served us.just shoved the credit car reader at us and that was that. I used to love coming here but I'll never go back. The shelves are 1/2 empty and messy. Such a shame.
Great candy store, massive selection of sweet treats ant prices that are competitive with other stores of this nature. Staff were friendly will call in again when next in the area.
The shop in itself has been an institutional stop over on returns from Sydney. Unfortunately today, even though the shop closes at 5pm the staff member would not allow my excited daughter to enter the store to buy her usual choice. Obviously wanting to ensure she left on time, the staff member even refused money from persons wanting to purchase some other paraphernalia outside. End of the day Woolworths got our money and our satisfaction.maybe no more lolly shop for us.
Very cute store, have come here since I was a kid - always has a variety of candy from all over the world - very cool inside as well looks like a magical shop
I am happy to give this store 5 stars. Not so much for the amazing diversity of chocolate, candy, and other delights to be found therein. But for the 'sweet' uniqueness, and gracious customer service, lovely Keala greeted me, and all other customers with, from the moment we entered the store. On the flip side, l may have stayed longer and purchased (more) sweets had the store been heated. It was freezing in that store yesterday! A note to the manager: Please take great care of your amazing staff!
There's a huge range of lollies, although I would say there's too many of the 'traditional/handmade' ones in the jars - they take up so much shelf space. Less of those and more chocolates/biscuits/other things would be better. There's plenty of twinkies.
I didn't receive any service - no greeting, no asking if I needed help, nothing.
Staff need to improve their product knowledge as they were unable to answer my questions about flavours.
Dear owner, please tell your staff to do the absolute minimum when it comes to customer service. A simple "Good morning" or "Hello" works wonders. Instead I get a cold look like I'm interrupting something.
Just about everything is expensive, but since I'm in the area once every 2 years I can justify dropping in regardless.
I thought that 80% of the items could be bought in supermarkets or other retailers. Didn't see anything special or unusual that caught my eye except for, what looked like imported drinks. It used to have better variety & more specialised stock
I have been coming here since 2009 and have never had a bad experience and am sorry, others had. I love having the tradition of visiting and splurging when I stay in the mountains. It offers a wide selection of international sweets, drinks, and snacks and I have found the pricing to be really very reasonable. Had a lovely chat to the woman when buying a load of sweets and came back the day after - as I had used bribery to have my little one pose in front of a waterfall while bushwalking.
Large shop of mostly American candy. This is the only place I know that sells Wonka Bars, and I got a special something out of it. Great Place
Large selection of sweets in stock with some hard to find varieties. Some stock appeared to have been on the shelf for a while and had been marked down from the fairly high initial retail price.
Should have less overseas products and support more localised.especially blue mountains made sweeties.
