Fantastic service and great price. The quality of their products and expert knowledge is unrivalled and their prices are very reasonable for the standard of product and service they provide. Highly recommend visiting their showroom and chatting to them about your art and framing ideas.

If I could give 10 stars I would without a moments hesitation. Marianne genuinely cared about our project and likely more than I did. I provided her with a file of my original photography prints and she simply took over with exceptional expertise. Our home has transitioned into a New York style loft and is now simply next level. Could not have achieved this without her. Will definitely be back for all art and framing projects in future. Thank you to Marianne and the team!

Poor quality/service

I called to book a framing service on Tue 5 May 2020. I explained what I wanted over the phone and sent a follow up email to confirm details. I then paid in full and dropped off the artwork on the same day. I was told the job would take up to two weeks.

Two weeks passed without any update so I sent a follow up email on Wed 20 May. I was told it would be ready by the end of the week. No update by Friday of that week so I called and was told I should have received a text message (which I hadn't). I was then told it would be ready the next week.

Finally I collected the artwork, three weeks after I had brought it in and after following up myself twice, as no one had called or texted me to let me know it was ready.

I then booked a handyman to hang the picture for me. When he removed the picture from its bubble wrap we found it had been framed in portrait rather than landscape, despite me specifying landscape in writing via email and verbally over the phone. This meant I could not get the picture hung that day, losing the call out fee to the handyman.

I then contacted The Art and Framing Company to let them know of the mistake. The owner offered to pick up the picture for me and send one of her people out to hang it. She would not offer any sort of refund for the money lost as a result of having to pay the handyman who was unable to hang/check the artwork.

I said I'd like the artwork to be collected, to which she replied she couldn't send anyone that day as it was a Sat. I asked if she could call us first thing on Mon to arrange a time. I said I wasn't sure if I wanted to take up the hanging service as I was unsure of the quality as a result of my prior experience with this company. She then got quite aggressive and called me rude. We ended the call and she sent a follow up email confirming someone would call me on Mon to arrange a collection time, and that the hanger would be changed/the artwork returned the same day.

On Mon, she did not call as requested/advised but instead sent me an email. The email stated in order for the artwork to be collected it would need to be left outside the front of my house. I replied that I wasn't comfortable doing this given the value of the artwork/chance it could get stolen/someone could think it had been left out for free. So I had to drop it off. We then had to collect it the next day, as it was not ready the same day as had been promised in her email.

I had asked if someone could come in and check the wire had been hung in the correct spot for it to go on our wall but she replied that the company is unable to adjust hangers on site. I had merely asked for someone to check it. When we collected the artwork and brought it home, the wire was not where it needed to be, so she asked us to drop it back again (for our 5th visit to their business) to be fixed.

Given I did not want to have to pay a handyman to change the wall hanging to accommodate the issue, I asked if we could take them up on their prior commitment to do the hanging for us free of charge. The response was that the only person who could do it was "sick" so she asked us to bring the artwork in again (?) rather than scheduling a future date when it could be hung. It is clear that the hanging service was promised without any real commitment to deliver it.

So more than seven weeks after paying for this service, I still do not have what I asked and paid for, and the artwork cannot be hung. No explanation was ever provided as to how the mistake had been made.

I would like a refund or some sort of goodwill given the service I paid for has not been provided, as well as the inconvenience, but this has not been offered. It looks like I will now have to pay someone else to fix this issue, making me further out of pocket.

Needless to say, I would not recommend this company. They have been unpleasant to deal with and have not kept their promises. I would welcome the company arranging for the artwork to be hung as they had promised, so I am not further out of pocket.
