The Apollo Restaurant reviews
69Amazing food cooked to perfection and amazing service would definately go again and would highly recommend
Compliments not only to the chef but to the entire staff. The Apollo was like a scene out of a movie. The outside dining experience was surely memorable. An exuberant crowd made all of our food choices easy as neighboring tables gave their praises and recommendations. Our server Geetz was so cool and knew his stuff. We ordered a light and airy orange wine that Geetz recommended Along with a summery filled watermelon margarita. First up was the TARAMASALATA which came with warm pita. The appetizer was very flavorful with hints of a fish flavor from the roe along with a ambient citrus flavor profile. The tomahawk lamb cutlets were amazing and braised to perfection with a crispy salted layer. The Prawns were unreal and HUGE! (look at the pictures) They were lightly fried and flavored. We all love dessert so we got the donuts and enjoyed the view of the city and tried to etch in our memories how delightful of a meal we just experienced.
Booked two months in advance and still got jammed onto the end of the bar at the back of the restaurant. Bar seating can be fun sometimes, but typically this is more appropriate for late bookings or walkins. If you are going to be allocated bar seating when you book 2 months in advance, you need to make it known to the guests at the time of reservation. Was extremely loud and uncomfortable, we ate quickly and left. Disappointing indeed. This is a $$$$ restaurant, expect better. Food was great though.
Lamb is popular here but really disappointed as it was a little stale, did not finish, and not properly taken care of as a dish, forgot some condiments and did not check carefully. It was not very busy at the time when preparing my food. Hope there's improvement to live up to its name.
Great value for money. Fantastic food. Nice service. They were happy to assist both, gluten free and dairy free requirements with ease and changed the whole menu individually.
Really enjoyed the pea dip and halloumi! Both very unique dishes and explosions of flavour. We ordered other dishes as well but would have appreciated more vegetarian items on the main menu! Otherwise, enjoyable for all eaters.
The Apollo is fantastic! It was busy on Sunday. The food was delicious, the drinks enjoyable, and the service excellent. Highly recommended for a great dining experience.
Excellent service, delicious food, good value for menu
Opted for the set menu which cost 70$pp. Portion size was generous. Felt very satisfied upon leaving.
We really enjoyed great food and service last night at The Apollo - being able to sit outdoors on a balmy summers evening made our experience even better - Many thanks!
My friend and I had a fabulous evening at the Apollo - the food and service were incredible and I would highly recommend a visit - the octopus and lamb were divine but the taramasalata was the star. Thank you to the team at the Apollo and we look forward to coming back in the new year!
It’s no secret that The Apollo has remained one of Sydney’s favourite restaurants for a decade - great food, great wine and great service.
Bad service, not enough staff on hand for a busy thursday night. Food was extremely overpriced, we got a banquet/feast but only 1 dish (lamb) and potatoes for the main course. Not nearly enough food considering what we paid. Wouldn't go back.
Always good here. I don't love it as much as others seem to, but never disappoints. I generally prefer "traditional" Greek restaurants such as Santorini on Oxford street vs "fancy" ones like Apollo. I recommend the saganaki without honey. Lamb shoulder and octopus also great.
We love coming to Apollo! The food is delicious and consistent, the interior is stylish, warm and welcoming and the service is friendly and efficient. Tonight’s visit was no exception. 10/10
Absolute gem in Potts Point. Amazing food and cocktails. The vibe is great. Couldn't recommend more.
An incredible spot. Greek food at its finest. Sydney hospitality as its talked up to (should) be. Exceeded expectations. Thank you Tanya.
Not just consistent but consistently very good. Food is great, enhanced by a very good wine list and excellent staff all in a venue that feels "alive"
Even after all these years The Apollo still delivers in spades. We decided this time to avoid all their classic dishes (Tarra, Saganaki, Lamb etc) and every dish was a winner (Sardines, Baked Snapper and Crumbed Pork particularly good). Service and atmosphere has never been better. Casual excellence at its finest.
The food was average, but what made a lasting impression was the waiter who literally hovered around us waiting to take last bites of food so he could clear the plates. Encouraged us to quickly "eat while it's hot", asking, "is anyone going to have the last piece? " too many times, made us feel very rushed and uncomfortable. If there is a seating window please let the table know when we sit down, or perhaps a gentle reminder when we have half an hour remaining so we don't feel like unwelcomed and pushed out.
Had an amazing Greek meal here with lamb, potatoes, saganaki cheese, octopus, taramasalata dips and pitas breads. Amazing! Staff were great as well.
