Simple, tasty, incredible value for money! A large group of us turned up with an hour's notice, we had a room upstairs to ourselves, very basic surrounds but worth it for the lovely food, friendly staff and unbelievable price per head, like stepping back in time (in a good way!). Very accommodating staff, thank you!

Their set lunch is affordable! Their BBQ pork (moo ping) with rice was pretty legit! Definitely coming back for that one.

I recently tried the cashew nut tofu and coconut curry rice dishes at a Thai La-ong restaurant for lunch, and I was very impressed with both the quality and value of the meal. Both dishes were delicious. The tofu in the cashew nut dish was cooked perfectly and the cashews added a nice crunch. The coconut curry rice was also very tasty, with a creamy and slightly spicy sauce that paired well with the rice.

The staff at the restaurant were always friendly and helpful, making for a pleasant dining experience. Additionally, the prices were very reasonable, with both dishes coming in at around $11 each (Thats generally their lunch offer) This made for a very economical lunch option, especially considering the high quality of the food.

Overall, I would highly recommend these dishes for anyone looking for a tasty and affordable Thai lunch.

Good value for money lunch special. $11. More if seafood. $15. Good if on a budget or University student. Laksa is generous size. Friend got a takeaway container. Couldn't finish laksa. Good simple restaurant.easy off street parking. Has vegan & vegetation options. Has upstairs dinning on a balcony. On balcony it has good sunlight & freshair.

This place is all about the food, fresh tasty affordable food. I never had a yummier Thai laksa noddle soup.

Great lunch specials. Otherwise avoid.
And please cut potatoes smaller or cook much much much longer so tht they cook.

I used to have lunch here often. The food and price are ok just like other thai places. The staff used to smile a lot and give free sticky rice dessert. Now, no smiles anymore and they have no patience listening to my questions after i ordered food and even showed me a angry face…I was just asking for room temperature water ok? What did i do to you？ Never come back again.

After coming here for the past 10 years, it’s unfortunate to conclude that they’ve lost the original/ authentic touch. The Pad Thai was bland, the meat was overcooked, just no flavour whatsoever.

Nice and cheap, tho I wish their pad thai was better but the pad kee mao is my choice with curry puff. This is my go to Thai place

As soon as I started eating, They started swiping the floor, then mopping around me.
I was quite disgusted. It was around 3 pm, but wasn’t their closing time.

Fantastic! Bulk ordered for an event, so quick and accommodating, have lunch specials which are incredible for $10! My go to for any event around newtown.

Unbileveable customer service. I asked for sperated rice and curry when i order 2 of curries. Of course no need to use extra cotainers and same portion. Because I order 2! They say just no without reasons. Nonsense. Honestly, this thai shop has a advantage of cheap price only. That’s why people used to go here and get a 10bucks meal. Still dont understand why they treat their customets like this.

Have been going to the Drummoyne one for a while now and thought id try the newtown store, unfortunately has just not even come close to being as good on any of the occasions i have ordered from here as the other store.

Great tasting food, very quick service and definitely the cheapest option for lunchtime Thai food on King St - $10! Really big menu too, you can't go wrong!

Cheap as chips, with a great menu, but not over the top. The food is wonderful full of flavor and freshly cooked.
Service and customer services are exceptional.
This place is vibrant and very comfortable.

Have been coming here since I was 2 years old! Honestly the only restaurant that has never let me down and is always so welcoming, highly recommended.

The staff here are really lovely and helpful. In my experience the staff have always been amazing with assisting with any requests I've had. The food is also delicious and the outdoor area is such a nice place to relax.

The food is great with reasonable prices and nice staff and good portion sizes. What more could you want?

I have been enjoying the great food that Thai La Ong have been serving all these years. They just get better each year. Their Moo Yang (grilled pork) is the best. Best value for your money and friendly and attentive service.
