Sydney Jewish Museum reviews
42Everyone should come here to understand what happened to 6million Jews in WW11. It's an amazing place with dedicated volunteers.
Third visit - always a powerful experience. Those who wish to keep their empathy renewed would benefit from a journey to the museum.
It was amazing they had IA you could ask personal questions I have never seen that before. The Collection of Movies and Pictures was also amazing.
Sydney Jewish Museum is located in Darlinghurst near the CBD. Very few museums will hit you the way this way this museum hits you. A very informative museum about Jewish history, culture and about the holocaust. Holocaust was one of the darkest times for humanity and education about it is important to ensure such events never ever happen again. They had a new exhibition called “Reverberations” which uses artificial intelligence which has pre-recorded interviews of holocaust survivors to preserve their memories and is worth checking out. Definitely worth a visit if you are in Sydney.
I thoroughly enjoyed going to the SJM and I love that it brings rich Jewish history alive through the myriad of artefacts and experiences. I talked to a Holocaust survivor and it gave me a whole new, deeper perspective on The Holocaust, it’s events and people’s first hand experiences.
Sidney Nolan's experience of Auschwitz and the earlier Eichmann trial is vividly captured in this moving, sobering exhibition. It is well worth a visit. And while there catch the exhibition of rugs from the Cadry collection on display. They are very beautiful art works.
A place where we can remember the atrocities the Jewish people endured. Long may their memory remain.
Very good museum with lots of stories and real life artifacts. Definitely worth a visit and a truly eye opening glimpse at history.
Excellent experience. Met two very lovely gentlemen 82/3 and 93 who told us all about their experiences during the war. Thank you Peter and Jack xx They made the day for us.
This is an amazing museum! These walls are home to a place of heritage and history. They tell the tales of struggles and triumphs along with historians also telling their stories. This museum has everything you need to see to learn about Jewish culture. You must visit this museum.
What a sobering day. So beautiful and interesting. If you're in Sydney please please please go. It's really a great day.
The guide was very informative and very knowledgeable.
She took into account a young school boy in our group monitoring him by asking his opinion on different aspects of the exhibition.
Looking forward to attending again.
What a sobering day. So beautiful and interesting. If you're in Sydney please please please go. It's really a great day.
One of the best museums I've seen in Sydney. It shows the history, events and culture of the Jewish people, in Australia and worldwide, and the horror of the holocaust. We allocated about 3 hours but only got through about half of the museum. There was just so much to see and listen to we would need to come back again to see it all. This is a world class museum that you should not miss if in Sydney.
Definitely up there in the top museums of Sydney, very good place to go to learn about history. Will be sure to come back here one day for a second visit!
Wish I could have spent more time there, what a great museum! We are lucky to have this in Sydney!
I couldn't get tickets to the comedy festival so I went here instead. Had a great time, funniest stuff I've seen in a long time.
The actors were great, you could see they almost believed the lies they were telling!
12/10 would defo visit again!
Absolutely fantastic in every way. Thank you to all the staff and volunteers for all the work that you do for this excellent museum.
Good experience, a lot of insight into the holocaust and the experiences of the survivors. The tour guides were very friendly and very knowledgeable. Very recommended
The best Museum, at least the one I spend the most time reading, in Australia.
It costs 15 AUD per person.
You need to talk to the gate to get in.
At first, I thought it’s a private place but it’s not.
Just ask the guard to let you in and go though bag check.
It has lots of history regarding Jew history including the holocaust.
They also provide free tour.
Strongly recommended.
