We contacted Sydney extensions regarding a renovation to our home in Linfield. After speaking with David he convinced us that we would be much better off adding a second story to our home as we really needed some space that couldn’t be configured into our existing floor plan. We are both absolutely thrilled with the result which I have to say far exceeded our expectations. Our home has been re-valued and the value far exceeds what we spent on it. Whilst the whole process took over 12 months with some unfortunate delays due to Covid and the weather the end result has been well worth it

My wife and I were looking at adding another story to our home in Castle Hill. We spoke with four building companies before settling with David at Sydney Extensions. I have to admit, I wasn't the easiest client with changes being made more regularly than I should. David was incredibly patient and his years of building and construction experience were clearly evident with top quality work being carried out to the letter.
I can highly recommend Sydney Extensions and feel confident everyday that we made the right decision.

I had my first floor extension done by Sydney Extensions and I’m more than happy with final results. It is a very good company with an excellent tradies. I made some changes in project during the work but David was very patient and easy to deal with.
I can highly recommend Sydney Extensions.

We used Sydney Extentions to do a complete renovation on our property and could not be happier with the outcome. They were very professional and David was extremely easy to deal with and very helpful throughout the entire process. Would definitely recommend.

In 2012 Sydney Extension & Design completed a second story addition to our home. Upstairs we had two Juliet balconies added but every time there’s a heavy rain we experience leaks in our downstairs lounge room. We have notified SE over the years and they did attempt to fix the issue several times by putting silicone on areas of the roof and moving roof tiles. When the issue persisted we would always contact Paul Pfeiffer who we believed to be a great person and a man of his word and really didn’t proceed with anything legal as we believed they would fix the problem in good faith. Also we knew that we had a 10 year warranty so felt assured that we would be taken care of as Paul had also assured us that he would.

Two weeks ago we had another heavy rain and sure enough the issue is still here so I enquired with the Department of Fair Trading and found that despite the fact that we have a 10 year warranty you are only able to dispute on major defects (which waterproofing falls under this category) from 6 years following the completion of the works.

Basically know your rights; despite your contract, a 10 warranty means nothing after 6 years if you want to take major defects further. Do NOT believe what you are told no matter how much you are promised. Now I have the expense of fixing this issue properly myself.

We were promised a few things during the sales cycle that didn’t eventuate for example, room for attic storage, only to be told when the works started it wasn’t possible because of the type of roof that it was. At the time that was one of our big asks, but what do you do when your job has already begun and can’t change the roof type? Did someone at sales want to point that out to us? !

They will charge through the nose for variations orders so be very exact with your final plans. Cheap Trend windows (get commercial grade) and cheap electric trades, eg.switches didn’t switch up properly. I pointed it out at the time and remember their electrician saying it wasn’t a big deal.

I’m not a complainer. In fact, quite the opposite, which is why I’m now in this position. I trusted we would be looked after, especially when it was promised. I took their word for it.

Adding to this review after the recent rains here in Sydney. Yes we sprung about 3 leaks in the house. Admittedly it was a very heavy downpour. So last week I had a roof plumber come to check out the situation. He replaced several roof tiles that had blown or slid off as they weren’t nailed or secured down. After you have a roof installed who goes up on the roof to check if they’ve been secured or nailed down? Totally incompetent if you ask me. Not impressed!

We recently chose Sydney Extensions & Designs to do some renovations.
The process from start to completion was smooth and easy.
Aaron our supivisor was very easy to communicate with and helped us resolve a number of other smaller issues during the process.
Couldn't be happier with the end result!

We were very pleasantly surprised at the ease with which our plans progressed after hearing so many stories from our friends about their renovation experiences. Our building supervisor Graeme and particularly Paul Pfieffer were very easy to communicate throughout the building process and whilst there was some minor issues along the way we wouldn't hesitate to recommend Sydney Extensions and Designs as we are thrilled with our extensions, which makes us feel like we are living in a new home.

As a sub contractor I have been working with this company for a long time and can tell you they are very thorough and experienced. I have found the team always approachable with the aim of achieving a high quality product.

Contract does not represent what was agreed in discussions. Continuous variations to complete work. Over run on time. Poor quality of delivery. Difficult to work with.
