Suspension Bridge (aka Long Gully Bridge) reviews
17Such a nice place to visit, started from Artarmon train station and walked to Long Gully Bridge
This is an absolutely gorgeous looking bridge. Visit Tunks Park below to walk the dog or have a lovely picnic in the lush green valley sandwiched between the two imposing forest-covered ridges.
Was walking here and some idiot thought he was Lewis Hamilton and went at 150km/h and nearly hit me. Turns out it was Lewis Hamilton so I'm kinda happy now
Long Gully bridge, Northbridge Sydney. Opened 1892 it spans 105m. A great piece of architectural work.
A bit of Hogwarts right here in Sydney. Beautiful during the day and amazing at dusk. Worth the visit.
Very nice bridge. The architecture of the bridge stands out. I never thought such bridge can be found in suburbia
When you look at this bridge, it's hard to believe that you are less than 10mins drive to Sydney CBD.i love this bridge and the area. Great walking track
Privately-built to promote residential development in the suburb of Northbridge and beyond, the bridge opened in January 1892 as a steel suspension bridge finished in Sydney sandstone with crenellated turreted towers. The bridge was transferred to the Department of Main Roads in 1935 and, in 1939, was rebuilt as a reinforced concrete two rib arch bridge, with the sandstone towers kept.
Lovely sandstone bridge. Shame about the steel fence but understandable in these uncertain, dreadful times.
This bridge is one of my favorites, it's nice to look at, but still humble. It looks good for its age.
Long Gully Bridge is a beautiful bridge to look at and look from. Views are absolutely spectacular from the middle of the bridge.
Beautiful bridge that accessible to walk across. Not much else around to do except walk through suburbia
Also variously known as Northbridge and Cammeray Bridge, this local landmark stretches (surprisingly!) from Cammeray to Northbridge. Now Heritage listed, this sandstone turreted and steel suspension bridge was privately built and completed in 1892. Bought by the Department of Main Roads in 1935, it was rebuilt with a concrete arch beneath the roadway, however the sandstone turrets were preserved.
What a historical looking bridge. We drove past and decided to stop near by and get out of the car and take a walk. Surprised this bridge can still withstand the punishment of today's trucks and cars.
One of the iconic bridge in Sydney
Traditional style
The neighborhood is among the top 10 the most high income residence district.
A strange folly joining Northbridge and Cammeray, built as a gimmick in 1891 by the North Sydney Tramway and Investment Company in the hope that it would encourage people to build homes on the other side. No longer a suspension bridge, and the anti-suicide fence is a little unsightly. Looks more impressive from the park below.
Genius! Lets people get from one side to the other.i would definitely recommend this bridge if you need to get over gorge. ;) very old with lots of historical interest too.
