Sugarloaf Point Lighthouse reviews
66Sugarloaf Point Lighthouse has amazing views. Heritage listing, built in 1878. There are 2 original Keepers Cottages and storage sheds also on sire, Bookings can be made for up to 20 people to stay in these overnight. Check NPWS website for more information.
Nice walk up to cottages, path to light house pretty step but worth the effort good walking shoes recommended
A good 25-minute walk from carpark, with a steep path to the light house. Great views, but once is enough.
Staff were completely useless and wouldn't allow us to bring our car up to pick up my orderly grandmother who was seriously struggling after she underestimated the walk absolutely disappointing! Would not recommend visiting if you need any help
Awesome views. Easy access from the cat park. Public toilets available. Not wheelchair or stroller friendly.
Lovely walk, be prepared for many stairs. Relatively easy walk from the carpark to the lighthouse base and various lookout points. Beautiful views.
Loved our visit here. Very interesting area where waves are crashing into two gullies. Weather changed suddenly and we got soaked. Accommodation looks good.
A great place ti visit on The NSW coast north of Newcastle. The surf was boisterous and the wind strong but the wildness beautiful
Beautiful views, would be great to stay at the lighthouse cottages. Was insanely windy though, almost blown off the lighthouse steps.
It was really a fantastic experience to climb on to reached the top for a beautiful 360 degree views.
What a beautiful spot. An amazing lighthouse on a perfect day. The walk up to the top is very steep though.
Quite a walk up to lighthouse but really worth the effort. Fantastic views. Saw whales no too far out to sea.
A hidden gem, beautiful 660m walk from the car park (although the last bit is Very steep!) & stunning views both on the way and from the lighthouse.
Not the easier hike up to the lighthouse. Our in laws had a difficult time hiking up but the view was amazing. Well worth it
It is about 45 minutes driving from Forster, and there are few beautiful beaches along the way. Make sure you have a bottle of water with you in a hot summer day because it is about 550 m walk from the gate to the light house on top of the hill. But this is great place and worth to visit.
Easy access a few steep spots not really anything strenuous. Saw some wales having a fun time. History is always mind blowing. Wonderful views.
An amazing must see place if only for the beauty of the headland on which the lighthouse is built.
The walk to the lighthouse is beautiful as you emerge from the coastal forest to a small lookout overseeing an inlet where water has carved its way through the rocks. Ascending to the lighthouse itself through the surrounding cabins and buildings affords spectacular views down the coast.
Highly recommended.
Awesome place to visit. Well worth the walk.it is not too far to walk, but the last 100m or so is a bit steep.
Amazing views from the lighthouse and the sugarloaf point is also very interesting.
Just keep in mind that the park is subject to closure in June 2021 due to aerial spraying.
