SUEZ Artarmon Public Drop-Off reviews
26Easy to dispose of cardboard, drive up the ramp to the gatehouse, they will then direct you to drive around to the back where the cardboard skips are, drop it in and drive out. Check the operating hours on the website. Your car will smell like garbage for a bit but your cardboard is gone!
This place is an absolute rip off! Green waste was once free to dump at this facility! If you're going to charge a tipping fee at least separate the cost from the general waste fee.
This place is an absolute joke, I have been coming here for 4 years twice a week and giving them lots of business, lately every time I come pass they say no hand unload or they are closing half day and won’t let you in with out putting up a notice on their Google business page or website and when you tell them they straight lie and say we have. I run a business my time is important if you are not going to let people hand unload or close early at least put it up on your Google business page so I don’t waste my time.
Convenient location but it’s expensive and the service is bad have to phone ahead to check if they’ll even let you in - way worse since cleanaway took over they are a pain to deal with drive a bit further to a real tip. Charged me full rates for concrete this morning even though I said it was only concrete and they directed me to a seperate section with only concrete now say they don’t take it at a different rate at this location so it cost me $480 - would have been less then $100 at concrete rates I feel like I’ve been robbed! They really should have told me on the way in. Only costs $57 a tonne at Benedict recycling for concrete. This is also after we were turned away from their Ryde tip because they couldn’t accept card payments today.
Disappointing to see that this one useful place is now not open to the public anymore.
They’re still operating but not for those who are trying to do the right thing and recycle bulk materials effectively. Leaving Kimbricki as the local choice for the northern suburbs.
I’m very disappointed. Got to the tip today at 4.45pm and the staff said it was closed when actually the website shows it’s open till 5pm. Wasted time and petrol plus have garden waste to be disposed before visiting a client tomorrow.
Hey Cleanaway, update your service details before you cause more inconvenience to people!
Cardboard disposal was full upon arrival. Refused entry. Goto Kimbriki Resource Recovery Centre.
They no longer provide green waste composting. It just goes in with the normal rubbish and is charged accordingly. Reduced opening days and hours for households. A big step backwards since Cleanaway took over this site.
I agree with the negative reviews that this place isn't as helpful or efficient as advertised. They don't have a direct number to call ahead and check information (only council's number) so when you do turn up they give you a totally contradictory story with the excuse that 'they are not the council'. No you can't dispose of a microwave even though council said it was okay and if you want to try later you have to pay a minimum fee of $88 (!). Disposing of smaller items is absolutely disgusting and no guarantee it will be recycled judging by how poorly kept the premises is.
My advice: try a dedicated service like Arnie's Recon that will actually try to reuse your old goods, or better yet, donate it through Freecycle if it's still working.
Never again will I come back to this place after today's horrendous experience.
Thank you Artarmon crew for going above and beyond this week to retrieve an item. Can't thank you enough. Brilliant helpful, friendly and understanding service.
Great people work here, the staff are friendly and informative when asked about disposal of items.
No issue dropping cardboard for recycling today. You just drive up the ramp and they let you drop off
This is genuinely the most misinformed publicly advertised company including website with information not available or accurate to drop off. I own a Pty Ltd company that works along side waste companies in Sydney and nothing was made known or accomodated for in any way. Don’t waste your time, unless your the owner of a company larger than clean away you are no one they will listen to.
Don't waste your time since cleanaway took over they are always closed if cleanaway can't cope why did they takeover. Don't waste your time go to another tip
Council vehicles only since clean away took over this place is gone downhill I will never come back here absolutely useless I hope you go broke
Since Cleanaway took over the site has been closed to the general public almost as much (if not more) than it has been open. It's either "council contracted vehicles only" or "tipping vehicles only". In all the years that the previous owner ran it I never came across it closed like this.
Since cleanaway took over you can never use this facility. They dont recycle cardboard anymore. If you call their staff are completley unhelpful. This is such a disgrace. This used to be a good community facility.
These guys are a joke. Supposed to be open for public recycling drop off but never are. Attempted four times this week and no indication of when public will be allowed in
Arbitrarily refusing to accept drop offs from public, only council vehicles. No information on the website to this effect.
Save yourself some time and use someone else. Each Cleanaway site plus their customer service team all seem to be operating independently resulting in nobody really knowing what's going on.
