Very helpful with trying and selecting a new office chair. Gerda is very patient and knowledgeable. Highly recommend.

I was happy with Leap v1. Armrest and gas lift failed after 11 years, which is reasonable. Instead of refurbishing, I put v1 in garage and bought Leap v2 for $1,600. What a mistake. Leap v2 is a piece of junk compared to v1. Very thin padding on the backrest, which comes off the frame. Other bits fall off. The chair is not stable. It rocks from side to side, and tilts to the left. Hard plastic lumbar support digs into your back.

I have now replaced the gas lift and arm rests on my old v1 and am using v1 again. Much higher quality than v2. With v2, it seems Steelcase thought they could change to much cheaper construction and rely on reputation.v2 is now sitting in my garage and will go ebay for $200 because I would be embarassed to ask for more.

Zero customer service. Zero communication until I was advised chair is not ready ONLY one day before I was meant to pick up. Had all plans including leave and borrowing a large car ruined. At least give me enough time to reschedule. Horrible experience and waste of time.

Beware - the chair we ordered was not suitable and we were told we had to pay an exhorbitant fee for the return. This was not explicit in the ordering process and is in my experience highly unusual. Won't go back to this business. The chair seems nice enough but is not that adjustable (i.e. Seat depth varies but not that much, lumbar support not that adjustable) I would not recommend the chair if you're looking for one suitable for a tall person.

Popped into the show room to try out some chairs for my home office. Very professional and friendly staff answered all my questions, let me try out some chairs and made it easy for me to make my selection. Chair was delivered assembled within a week. On the day my chair was delivered I received an email with a $100 rebate offer. Steelcase were good enough to honour the new offer, showing good will. Chair is by far the most comfortable office chair I’ve had. Highly recommend.

I went there to test out some Steelcase office chairs after reading a lot of good things about them online.

They asked me if I had an appointment and even though I didn't the staff were very friendly and helpful and answered all my questions accurately. They showed me how to properly adjust all the chairs I was interested in and the correct ergonomic position to sit in an office chair while outlining the strong points of each individual chair.

The staff then left me alone so that I could properly evaluate the chairs and checked in with me at the end when I was leaving to see if I had any more questions.

Unfortunately the chair I decided on is currently not in stock so I will have to wait but they were very upfront and honest about this and did not pressure me to consider buying one of the other instock chairs instead.

After visiting some of their competitors I was very surprised by the level of service they offer.

You need to beg for customer service.

Reason for a 1 star review:
- Waited 7 months to receive my chair due to miscommunication between Steelcase and third party warehouse.
- Steelcase didn't proactively follow up on this issue and contact me.
- Waited >1 month for a response to my complaint.

My situation:
- Placed an order for a chair on June 2021 as my current chair was visibly wearing away. Was told that someone will get in touch to organise pick-up
- Received emails on June, July and October stating that the order has been delayed due to COVID.
- I sent an email to Steelcase late November with my formal complaint along with supporting evidence. I requested for a definite pick-up date otherwise to issue a refund.
- Received a response more than a month later in January 2022, representative simply apologised for the delayed response and did not acknowledge my situation. Representative also stated that the order was ready to pick up back in June 2021.
- Went to the warehouse, chair was not ready for me to pickup. Waited an hour for warehouse staff to contact Steelcase, find if there were any spares available and then assemble it.
- Phoned Steelcase to discuss my experience. The person I spoke to understood my situation and explained there was miscommunication between Steelcase and third party warehouse. They stated that I was sent a message from that warehouse to have it picked-up (Nothing, also doesn't explain those emails saying the order was delayed.). No compensation received.

Final thoughts:
It seems that Steelcase isn't on top of the entire supply chain, because they would've have noticed the issue if they didn't handball the chair to the third party warehouse that was allegedly meant to contact me. It also seems that Steelcase needs to improve their customer service - regardless of whether the customer/company/contractor is at fault, you need to at least acknowledge the customer's concern/misfortune. If anything, I have a strong feeling that any other company that prizes themself for 'creating great experiences' would've provided some form of compensation in response to this mishap.

This is the first public review I've made towards any organisation. For me, I was happy waiting as long as I received communication (albeit false communication). It went terribly downhill when they responded to my complaint with the 'news' and didn't even acknowledge what I wrote in that email. The email felt like it was implying: 'Oh, we actually told you that the chair was ready to pick-up like 7 months. All the effort you put in this email doesn't matter at all cos it's your fault mate. '
? Well if you spent a few more braincells investigating, you may have located a glitch in the matrix.

I ordered the Steelcase Leap v2 and it is a big improvement from my worn down brandless chair. If not for the service, I would have recommended shopping with Steelcase.

Very bad customer service, every time you call they give you a different answer. They all like want to brush you away, feel sorry for the owner of the business, seems like no one cares about sales in the shop.

Horrible service. Website advise in stock, placed order and promised contact to organise delivery in next 7-10 business days. 11th day reached out on Facebook, Twitter & Phone until learnt on 18th business day that they do not have stock and haven't worked to get the stock in for delivery.

Bad service, bad supply-line, bad communication. Don't bother with them.

I've had my Leap chair for many years and had an issue with it's gas lift during COVID. Initially, I was told by a former employee that the chair was under warranty, but that turned out to be incorrect. Steelcase however stuck to what they had a agreed too, repaired the chair at no cost to me and kept me informed during the process, without me having to chase them. I would say Steelcase have great products and excellent customer service.

Worst customer support I have ever dealt with.

Ordered a chair in August and was sent an email shortly after purchasing saying I'd be contacted within 2-5 business days regarding delivery.

A week of not hearing anything from Steelcase, I called them up and they told me that my product had been delayed and it would be delivered next week.

Next week arrived and the product did not come, I was not notified that the product would be delayed again. I called up again after the product did not show and they again told me it would be next week.

Next week came and again it was not delivered. This has happened 4 times now and not once have they notified me of the delayed delivery.

I recently purchased a $20 lunch box and was notified of its delay, yet paying $700 for a chair doesn't seem to warrant any communication. The least they could do is notify me of any delays.

On top of this, I was forced to pay $100 for delivery as this is their only delivery option. If anyone had paid $100 delivery you would expect it to arrive within a few days.

Throughout this time I have messaged their Facebook, left phone messages, left emails, messaged their Instagram and they have not returned any of my messages. Funnily enough they have had enough time to post photos on their Instagram.

Literally the worst customer support I have ever received. You would not expect this from a "quality", "designer" brand such as Steelcase.

Definitely would not recommend this company to anyone.

I ordered one of these chairs and was told I'd hear back within 3-5 business days. Instead, I got silence for over a month with no delivery. I called their customer service desk and was told the headrest was delayed in Malaysia and was never given an update via email. When I asked if they would consider sending the chair with no headrest, the customer service rep told me he would "call me right back". I never heard back again, called again twice, only to have nobody pick up. Finally, I sought a refund via email - the absolute worst customer service I have ever dealt with in my life and would highly recommend avoiding. I would give them less than 1 star if possible.

Garbage company.
I ordered 2x office chairs in June, website said in stock
Next I was told out of stock and next shipment coming in to Australia July.
Then order still not fulfilled and told next order coming in mid August.
Still order was not fulfilled on 1/9/21.
Now told next shipment is coming in end of September with likely stock being available mid October.
Absolute sh1tshow of a company.
A chair supplier that cannot sell 2 chairs.

I was tossing up between Herman Miller sayl vs steelcase series 2, I ended up getting both for the house. I must say, steelcase series 2 is more comfortable overall, armrests are more adjustable (love these) and better lumbar support for my height (180cm). Highly recommend this product, especially for its price range.

Replaced an aging "gaming chair". Back support is excellent with plenty of adjustments for the price.
Lounging is fine when reclined. I didn't get the headrest, and it doesn't seem I need it when leaned back.
Pickup from Victorian factory was quick and easy, I was kept updated via email as my order progressed.
I will certainly be buying more steelcase chairs!: D

After initially purchasing two of these chairs I was so impressed that I purchased a few for my teenage children who had previously been using cheap Ikea chairs. They can’t believe what a difference it makes when studying. Delivery and service was just what you’d expect.

The Gesture chair speaks for itself and comes as advertised - premium product with premium comfort. I also like an upright back and this chair has just the right amount of flex with everything dialled up to keep me comfy for long workdays. The customer service however was what sets this company apart - they bent over backwards to ship to Tasmania, and were in constant contact throughout to ensure everything went according to plan. Bravo Steelcase!

I made the decision to buy this chair because it is the same one I use in the office and has always been very supportive and comfortable. I elected to pick the chair up from the warehouse where the staff were very efficient and friendly. The chair was ready in no time and it is just as good as the one I use for work.

I love the chair, the comport and the design. After using for a month or so, I've realised that it's quite warm, and wonder if leather would be cooler?

I was in a pretty bad way seeing the chiro and oesteo for my back thanks to sitting on a very bad and cheap chair for such a long time during lock down and working from home. After picking this chair up within 30 minutes of sitting on it my back felt relieved. Now a couple of months on I feel completely back to normal and I do sit on it for 8hrs a day working from home (it’s been 1 week shy of 12 months since I last went to the office). This chair is great and I use the same ones in the office which is why it wasn’t a risk to buy and try as I already knew. They aren’t cheap but they are worth every dollar and you wouldn’t make a mistake in buying one if you are having back issues with your current chair.
