StayKCC - Katoomba Christian Convention reviews
23Came here for a school camp a few days ago. Very nice place with spectacular views. Food was delicious and Scenic World is right next door which was fun. I stayed at the Mountain Camp sites with my school.:)
I lost something of mine underneath one of the floorboards and the staff took it off and mailed it to me the next day. Very grateful for the excellent service.
Excellent Christian convention venue for over 100 years, teaching the good news of Jesus life, death, and the hope of His resurrection for all who believe and trust Him for eternal life!
Came on a school camp, paid $300 for 2 nights and some activities, the activities included; the floor is lava (with wood planks), mind sweeper (with a tarp and tape.), and archery, not worth $300! The rooms stink, the beds are uncomfortable and wet, heaters don't work, 2 toilets and 3 showers to share with 50 other girls.the food caterers we hired were judgemental, the food was dry, soggy and make multiple people sick! Definitely do not recommend, so disappointing! Especially for a year 12 camp.
Last year 2022 I went to a cru camp here (crutech). I didn't like the camp so I decided to never come back again. But then I found out I am going back but for a school camp. I thought to myself it will be much better than crutech because it's with school and I was right. Last month (February 2022) was the school camp. It did start raining which I was happy about because I didn't want to do a bushwalk. Great walking distance to the Scenic Railway, great oval, and great facilities like the basketball court! I'm now thinking of going there for a real holiday with friends and famy. Staff and cooks did a very very great job!
Had fabulous few days with Basketry NSW recently at KCC. Food superb, very clean, very friendly and accommodating staff. Highly recommend for group gatherings.
Food exceptional!
Hot showers so good
Would recommend for large gatherings - seamless operating - we had 115 people they catered so well
Great venue for meetings nice and clean everything close by kitchens toilets it's a good venue
This was quite a nice stay. I went here on a university camp, and I had a great time! It was very well-located, being 5 minutes walk from Scenic World, and there was free wifi and lots of power outlets in each room (much better than some other places I've stayed at on camps).
There are few things you should keep in mind if you're planning to stay here though:
* It's a Christian camp, so alcohol isn't allowed on site. The Christian aspect of it wasn't very in-your-face, so it's suitable for secular camps too.
* The showers are very small - I didn't properly measure them but I doubt they're more than 60cm across. It was very cramped, and a bit slippery too. I also found that it was extremely difficult to get a good temperature in them - in about 1° of motion there was a range of about 40°C of temperature, and I was unable to ever get a temperature that was comfortable. If I wasn't more careful, I think it would be very easy to accidentally burn myself.
* The accommodation we had was self-catered, so we had to bring our own food, but the provided kitchen was well-equipped for our catering team.
* The sports field was extremely muddy, and there were birds nesting on it, which made it unsuitable for playing on (although it was great for bird photography).
Overall, this was pretty nice, and I particularly loved the location.
Great experience. Very comfortable, great service, beautiful location, and great food. Will be back again.
Where to start hmmm how about it was awesome even though we couldn't have the most pit and on the last day we were in the party tent and our youth started to skip around chairs and everyone joined in almost like half people pink donuts mmmm
Great stay at the KCC. Rubbish weather whilst we were there and our tent wasnt water proof! We stayed two nights one night the tent went in the grill area, the other in the laundry room. Kind staff there let us charge phones in the office. Whole site has wifi which is pretty cool!
Fantastic convention centre with friendly staff. Great place to come and learn from fantastic teachers of the Bible in addition to being able to spend time in fellowship with other Christians.
Basic camp style cabins. Excellent catering. Decent coffee. Huge convention hall. Can be heated. Not far from town with a car or a decent half hour walk.
A modern Convention centre catering for a diversity of conference needs. Huge auditorium seats 2500 people but there are smaller rooms scattered across the site all with unique features. Different levels of accomodation including ensuite rooms to bunk rooms to dormitory style to tents and powered sites for campers. Fully catered for in a dining room with chefs on site. Bushland setting.saw a lyre bird tonight enjoying the semi cleared bushland outside the cabins. Site managers and logistics were fantastic. Had a wonderful day but many were staying for a week.
YHA Katoomba in Bluemountain.
This family room is tidy, clean and there's no earthquakes in the midnight.
Staffs provide good customer service
Friendly staff, clean accommodation, close to Scenic World, and various walking trails including Furber Steps and Narrow Neck. Plenty of parking. Variety of accommodation options. Recommended.
Great bush setting for our caravan. Facilities clean and satisfactory. Gary was so friendly and accomodating.
David and Di
Great facility for young people to interact and discuss Christianity in a safe and nurturing environment.
The staff are helpful and friendly and the facilities on offer are good. They have a very good legal section in the library and internet facilities where you can use the computers for 2 hours per day for free. Also, they have a good selection of the daily newspapers and the latest magazines. There is a tea/coffee area located on the ground floor, although I've never used that facility.
