Stanton Library

One of the best libraries in Australia. They have an extensive range of small-large books. They have a particular strong range of books and magazines in the areas of art, architecture, design, interior design and so on. I highly recommend visiting if you are local or in the area. If you are from Mosman they have/had a return partnership. Also, there is sophisticated high value food and cafes in the area. Please note, this is a library focused review. Not a study based review. I would go somewhere else if I was not there for the books.

I spent the morning tracing my family with Rob, a service the Heritage Centre offers for free. You have access to Ancestry and other tools for free and the help of a volunteer like Rob.

Stanton Library is my local, and I love it. The Council funds it properly, so the library content is outstanding, the Librarians actually listen, and the place is comfortable. I delight in working through their DVD and CD collection.

I visit this library multiple times a week to take out books and dvds. Those movies that you can't find on any streaming services, you'll most likely find here. Those foreign language films that were screened internationally and won awards, they'll be here for sure. The staff are friendly and always there ready to help you.

I usually drop by when I’m in the area. Staff is friendly and helpful. Although not very spacious in each level, I like the many different cozy corners indoors and outdoors set among large potted plants, as if I were enjoying my magazines and books in my own patio. My boy enjoyed the kid’s corner when he was young, and I liked their previous talks, though haven’t gone to any since Covid. Guess it’s time to check their events schedule again.

I have a bliss discussing and checking out the new digital library facilities with Jess recently when I dropped in the library. This is my first visit post pandemic. It’s awesome to have Jess patiently walked me through all the funky new resources.

I highly recommend this library, I have never been to one so tidy and clean. Staff are amazing and helpful. Definitely can tell you’re in the North Shore

Beautiful library and wonderful staff. They always go out of their way to help me with my studies. Highly recommend!

Overall, ok if you’re here for a read and look around. If you’re here to study though don’t go feeling around under the desks because where I was sitting and under multiple tables were piles of gum stuck underneath. Disgusting experience as my hand touched a piece. The gum was hard so it had been there for a while. I thought they would keep a library clean but I guess not. Internet connection is unstable and their soap has a brownish colour. Don’t know if that’s normal? However, nicely air conditioned and is very big. Would be back if needed but would just go to Lane Cove Library on most days.

Great selection of books, staff is very friendly and helpful, generous area for kids. Also good if you need a place to work for a few hours.

In this library people talk loud, especially its stuff members, kids scream and running around. I can go to a shopping centre and study! It’s literally the same!

I think someone needs to teach the library etiquette to these people!

A good collection of resources. New technology is incorporated regularly to make it easy for members to access and borrow resources.

Very calm, peaceful place to work, read, etc. Highly recommend, but do note that this place is very popular among locals and therefore is often full.

It's an unfortunate, I was served by a rude/ small minded/untrained female consultant. Stay away from the woman (short dark hair) with a big ring on her nose. Her low minded behaviour has shown much about her toxic self. Must be pretty misery within. That's why it comes out so clearly. Feel sorry for her to be honest.

Friendly staff and helpful. If you leave in the area it's a place to be, we're so lucky to have Stanton Library it's awesome.

The book selection can be much better but a nice cozy place anyway. Staff is helpful, WiFi good. Good for the kids and elderly.

Fresh migrant. The coding and project management sections helped me prepare for interviews. The outdoor zones and the plugs help me pass interviews in a quiet setting. Got a job within a month of getting my PR. Would never happen without the library and its staff. Thank you!

Very difficult to get any work done at this library as the librarians are constantly having very loud discussions with each other with very little regard for people around them
