These Volunteers work so hard people work so hard with-in their community and should be commended and reconaised.
On they way they are and treat people, help and provide their time, Even those whom are paid on wages are lovely as well, training as part of their move into the vains of Governmental departments attached to Charities to help the rovolving door, Expirence of bed side manner, politics and hours of understanding how differcult it is being homeless, unemployed, and mental illness attached to both.
Good luck in your choosen fields in the future.

This town was a village and these are part of the people that build it into a little village, City,
Then Town.

Its been around for along time, so new comers remember this dont fix what not broken.
Elivate without humilation.
The elders know what works.
I worked in feeding people Sleeping rough, Cleaning and General kitchen duties, listening to sad stories, not much differant from my own,
People are doing hard more than ever, especially in an agiest work community,

I volunnteered Most weeks two days a week.
Then at Montique Street Sorting through Donations in the ware house.
Then, in Sales at the Corrimal Store.

With that being said the Illawarra, Wolllongong area have the most Generous people, and donations the key.
And learnt allot in all three areas.

In my experience as a client needing help, lead me to to volunteer for two years, then a further 9months the staff there are amazing and some volunteers are the same amazing. Above and beyond.

For my expirence I will always lend a hand and will always support them.

They work hard I know I volunteered there some times putting hours of a full days work, work in 5 to 6 hours twice a week, but it was worth it.

And would volunteer again in neon a heart beat.
Word of advice to some of the volunteers,
You dont own the place you volunteer.
And to the bullies and there are a few, power trippers paidones as well, be mindful, that when your too old to do the job its other kind hearts that will.

Dont put people off helping by volunteering their time in the future.
Be kind, and caring people can spot a fake a mile away.
To those that went out of their way and still do.
Stay blessed.
Good luck in 2024
Some of you deserve a Medal for your years of service, from the Primister.

For all your years of service.
That have gone unnoticed and acknoledged.

With dignity and thanks,
The key, is humility
And smart minds that invest in the people,
That return the favor in their older years.
To continue to help one another.

God Bless
All lives Matter.
Johanne Miles.

I stayed here early/mid 90s needing a roof over my head.and it still has that Coniston/Wollongong charm whether men come from further down the coast or North. Good incentives and also good to have a shower and if needed to do one's washing/drying

I'd give St. Vincent de Paul House 10 stars if I could. True Christian charity in word and deed. Even though I spent a short time there, I only have good memories of this special place. I felt at home.

“Is not this the kind of fasting I have chosen:
to loose the chains of injustice
and untie the cords of the yoke,
to set the oppressed free
and break every yoke?
7
Is it not to share your food with the hungry
and to provide the poor wanderer with shelter— when you see the naked, to clothe them, and not to turn away from your own flesh and blood?
8
Then your light will break forth like the dawn,
and your healing will quickly appear;
then your righteousness will go before you,
and the glory of the Lord will be your rear guard. "

Isaiah 58: 6-8
