The staff helped me to make appointment with loan manger. Ended up meeting with Branch manager at Top Ryde which he helped me out with the idea of investment and search the history of the property I want to buy. Great service.

Naomi helped me to do an overseas transfer. I did not have all the necessary details but she helped by googling them for me and did all of this while being very friendly and accommodating. Thank you so much Naomi

DON'T GO THERE IF YOU WANT YOU MONEY SAFE! I had a loan with them and had to open an account to access it and for some unknown incompetent reason they opened a historical account with OTHER PEOPLES NAMES on it who can access MY money! I had no idea till the statements started coming in! Then wasted more of MY TIME making ME go back and forth to deal with their incompetence! Customer service and financial management are also non existent.

I visited this branch at Top Ryde on a weekday afternoon to close a loan account. The branch wasn't busy with only 2 other customers. There wasn't anyone on the floor to welcome customers, but there were 2 tellers behind the counters.
I approached an available teller who didn't help, but instead told me to wait and take a seat and someone else would assist me.
After 10 minutes I was served by another person who did look into my account and advised that I needed to pay in cash to close the account.
When I produced the cash I was handed over to a 3rd person. I greeted this person but wasn't greeted back. They seemed to be busy with another task and then finally started to look into my request. This employee seemed to not know how to process an account closure and had to call a helpdesk to ask for the branch process to close the account. I was kept waiting for 25 minutes during which time they didn't apologise for keeping me waiting or inform me why it was taking so long.
I finally gave up and left the branch. Later the same day, I went to the Blacktown St. George branch and was attended to immediately and had my account paid and closed in under 10 minutes. They even offered an apology for the delay in processing the closure.
I'd suggest the staff at the Top Ryde branch be retrained in how to provide GOOD customer service and get to know the branch processes so they can perform their duties effectively.

I am a St George Bank customer for over 40 years, i.e. When it was a Building society then. Had had 3 Home Loans from them and happy with the interactions. In the past 8 years or so, I have a lot of direct dealing with the Branch Managers within my local areas, namely, Eastwood, MacQuarie and Top Ryde. Very impressed with the personalised Counter Services provided by the said Branch Mangers - it demonstrated to me that it remained a "down-to-earth" people's bank. Most recently had serious issues with the Top Ryde Branch unknowing issued me with a rubber foreign currency bank draft that caused heaps of problems for my O/S family members. Managed to have it sorted directly with the Top Ryde Branch Manager - YW. The mistakes was made by the St George own International Dept, not just once BUT TWICE! Nevertheless, sorted by YW as soon as she could. Final outcome was good. The St George International Dept.needs serious Review relating to the utter inefficiency and incompetent management process
Would I recommend St George? Absolutely - however, getting to know the Branch Manger helped and I certainly have received personalised services. Thanks

The worst bank I’ve ever dealt with!
Customer service is very poor, they don’t even know how to count cash money! VERY POOR AND UNPROFESSIONAL!

Was Customer with St George Top Ryde. Use to deal with Angela Jansz the local home-loan specialist.
Very disappointed about treatment, waisting hours with no outcome. Manager was not able to explain any details, did mistakes that we had to repeat applications several times. Offers made on one day got refused the next day when I came in to sign the discussed details. Overall a very bad experience and no chance to escalate matter within branch or St. George in general (Only a Feedback form on the website which tells you that you might receive a respond after 4-6 weeks).

Is there any bank taking Customer Service serious this days? Happy to join you guys.

If you are looking for a bank, my advice - keep looking.

Never have I met an institution that discourages customers from dealing with them as this bank. Now it seems are they only doing transactions that can't be done either online, phone or atm. When the ATM machine doesn't work, they seem to be struck-dumb as to what to say next. Like lemmings falling off a cliff, bank tellers are doing themselves out of a job only to increase slush-funds for directors and CEOs, I don't know who to feel more sorry for: The Customers or the Bank staff. Someone once summed up bank robbers is this way "80% of bank robbers are only frustrated customers trying to get their money"
