A rare opportunity! A visit to Spud Lane Studios is a not to be missed chance to enter a vibrant, ever-changing, exciting and inspiring world of art. I live in the Highlands and it’s right at the top of my adventure list for all my visiting friends. Artists Ric and Cat welcome you into their gallery and always have time to chat about the work or happily leave you to explore the space quietly if preferred. It feels a rare privilege to enter a gallery so alive with art works in progress as well as completed works by extraordinary visiting artists. An eclectic, magical world of art, I love this place!

I have known Spud Lane studio, Rick and Cat for some time now. In short they are inspirational and have steered me into Art and community more than anyone else over the past 10 years

Spud Lane Studio is a hidden gem in Robertson situated next to the big potato you will find this studio filled with inspiring and eclectic artworks by artists Ric Abel and Cat Doyle. Always worth a visit to look at art, have a chat or two and often a damn fine expresso with two of the most delightful peeps you could meet.

Walking into Ric & Cat’s studio is always a joyful experience. You never know what's new, what they’re working on, is the espresso machine ready. Such a magical environment - they have created for their art! ️

A very chill and awesome place to visit. Cat and Ric are so welcoming and their art is so so interesting and always inspiring.

Spud Lane, where Ric & Cat offer an intimate peak into their lives, highlighting what art really is away from all the commercial blah, blah, blah. Two talented people who love what they do & want to share their talents with like minded people. Robertson in the Southern Highlands is their home and their studio is open for all to visit. Ric might even be tempted to fire up the Mazzocco, for a heart stopping espresso & a chat if you really want to understand his philosophy about art & it’s place in today’s society. Cat however is more likely to quietly go about her work, no fuss, just a talented artist who’s work speaks volumes.

The funkiest art space in Robertson, you are literally wandering through a working studio and gallery for artists Ric Abel and Cat Doyle. They have converted an old potato shed into a hip, unique, welcoming (and warm, that's important in the highlands!) space and the art they have on show is always worth seeing. Ric and Cat are enthusiastic and engaging hosts, happy to tell you about their work, the building and its history. Artworks are reasonably priced if you choose to buy. A definite stop on your journey through the area if you have any interest in art or heritage or the repurposing of old buildings.

Ric Abel and Cat Doyle provided the best professional assistance and organisation for setting up, curating, opening and selling of paintings, drawings and etchings for the August-October 2022 exhibition of my partner Keith Looby at Spud Lane Studios. Ric and Cat went beyond all expectations and demonstrated top skills and expertise in running contemporary art events, from beginning to end. They are a wonderful team.

Spud Lane is such a special place to visit. It is not just a studio, but a unique experience in itself to be a part of! Such a wonderful hidden gem in Robertson. Definitely worth a visit when you're in town.
