Spotlight Belrose reviews
56Spotlight is my go to place for a lot of things. They have a great selection of party items. I go there for the yarn. They have great discounts. And online ordering is so easy. This is the place to go when they have sales on. I recommend becoming a VIP member to get some good bargains.
One of the worst companies I've dealt with. You only get to speak to a call centre and they do not respond to your issue. Ordered blinds 4th July part installed 56 days later. They only delivered half the order they forgot to order the other half. Still waiting for the remainder 38 days later (despite being told that it is in the country) a total of 98 days since initial order. No response at all, I guess no urgency on their side as they've got your money! Be very wary!
Best Spotlight store ever! I go there all the time. Amazing customer service.they always go out of their way to help! Fantastic variety of goods. Always an absolute joy shopping at Spotlight Belrose
Pat was very helpful and answered all my questions regarding fabric needs. She also took the time to teach me how to cut half circles and how to make the most of my fabric. Annette was also very patient and helped us find our supplies in the party section. Wonderful experience
A huge shop and amount of stock. Had good service in the past, but today. One young lady on the floor was not willing to help me. Sending me off to the service counter to get help. The lady at the counter was tired and not well with headache serving a customer. It was a lengthy sale. I just needed to ask a question on a product, she referred me back to the young lady who refused assistance, at the second counter by now. Eventually, she told me. In no graceful way someone was coming in 5 mins. A lady came over, her mum, apparently, she started lengthy conversations with her and the friend customer. I was ignored, until she remembered someone was waiting for her. I jokingly made a comment on the service, she stopped her step and said to me: If you have that attitude, I'm not serving you. I asked why she was reacting, I said I was not upset, that I'm a very patient person. I bought the sewing machine anyway, a total of over $300. The lady at the front check out counter was absolutely brilliant.
Alas, I don't recommend shopping there if you need some cheerful assistance.
Friendly staff know their stuff, just not enough of them.
Prices are a bit high but the store is stocked well you can usually get what you need.
I was at my fav Spotlight in Belrose two days ago. I had 5 rolls of fabric in my trolley, along with a few other bits and pieces. I stood in the queue, got to my turn, the woman serving says, "oh, I hate doing that many at one time"! Omg Spotlight, she is clearly in the WRONG job!
I visited Spotlight Belrose today to purchase a sewing machine. I was extremely disappointed! Although there were so many staff, they were useless, with no knowledge of any of the products. After finally deciding on a machine, they would not let me use the voucher which I received by email. The voucher said if I spend $100 I would get $40 off. There was no fine print on the email that excluded any products. What a waste of my time.
I repair musical instruments so am constantly using polishing cloths like micro fibre fabrics. So as they are getting more expensive and I use so many of them, I decided to but a few metres of fabric, and of course Spotlight has such a huge range to buy an by the metre at good prices.
Of course I found what I wanted and at about a quarter of the cost of the packs of micro fibre or toweling, so out with the scissors when I got home and job done. My previous trip to spotlight I purchased just the right Velcro for instrument cases, and some vinyl cloth to repair a flute case, so think outside the circle, and go to spotlight.
This low cost store has a huge number of products. Stock is stacked in the aisles and poorly displayed
Sorry this is a long one:
I’ve been going to the store since I was about thirteen. It got me through school dance classes, design and technology and many art projects. However I’ve been noticing a steady decline with multiple bad experiences lately.
The staff aren’t often sure of where things are. I was looking for crochet stitch markers in the sewing section. I tried to find a staff member and when I asked it seems like I was a huge burden to them, like ‘ugh stop talking to me. ’ They then said it was in the arts and crafts side of the store. I couldn’t find them so I ending up asking another employee who said it was in the sewing side.
I’ve had staff members roll their eyes, and even talk bad about the customer ahead of me.
Today, When my fabric roll didn’t have the bar code on it the lady on the register say “oh lord help me deal with these people”
I always go out of my way to be polite and say thank you many times, but there been noticeable staff members that just really seem to show no interest in helping. I’m wondering if I just keep catching them on a bad day? Or they are just tired but it’s really upsetting.
They don’t ask about your sewing project anymore or if you need help, most of the time they just seem to ignore you.
There has been two occasions where I’ve been in the store and I’ve had to help another customer because the staff member wouldn’t. The customer had a question about paper thickness and couldn’t get any advice so I helped them out. I really hope things improve because it’s a great store with great selection of stuff.
Side note I’d also really appreciate some fans or air con it can get very claustrophobic in the store.
Now I'm a man and therefore more familiar with wood, steel and beer, so it was with great surprise that I found myself enjoying a walk around the store with armfuls of cloth, lampstand and clothing dye.in summary, not such a bad place for a browse.
Wide range of fabrics and craft supplies. Silly me, I thought Click and Collect would be a faster way to buy stuff here. They don't have their act together. 20 minutes so far waiting to pick up Click and collect. Still waiting.
Nice store, plenty of parking with no time limit.however, staff needs more training about products. They were not able to give me satisfactory information about bedsheets.
Always have good deals. Ladies are all very nice and helpful. Kids costume department can be a little light on stock.
Wow, you really have to watch spotlight with hawk eyes when you are paying. They had clearly displayed that an item was 40% off but they charged full price for it. I didn't scrutinise the receipt at the time of paying - my mistake!: - (
They are also less than generous with measuring material. (It may depend on who serves you, though.) I bought the end of the roll labelled as 1m. They should have sold it at an additional discount in the bargain bin but it's their choice if they want to charge full price. 1m was enough for me though. However the young, bored looking lady who seemed like she'd rather be somewhere else, measured it an it turned out to be a few centimetres longer than 1m. She measured it meticulously, even stretching the fabric slightly and charged me for every mm of it. I should've just said, "no, I just need 1m" and let her cut it.
This was at the Belrose store. It used to be such a friendly place but judging by my last few visits, it no longer appears to be so.
I ordered two items and paid online and went to collect only to discover they had reimbursed me for one of the two items. I would not have gone had I known only one item was available.
Can always get what I need, usually check on line and have a pic so if I can’t find it a staff member can point in the direction.
I always find this place being quite claustrophobic but the craft section i love as it has everything I need.
The service in this shop might be a bit faster and more cheerful if the staff on the service desks didn't stand around gossiping about their weekends and personal stuff. Especially when they have their backs to the counters and don't look around for customers.
