I had the pleasure of dealing with Matt Menzies at the Sports Medicine Institute for the treatment of my ITB issue, which had been affecting my performance inconsistently for the past few months. I am truly grateful for Matt's dedicated efforts in helping me regain my optimal performance condition. His expertise and commitment to my recovery have been exceptional, and I'm thrilled with the progress we've made together. I see Dr Pitsus at SMI and cannot fault the quality of the care and service. SMI are a highly professional organisation with friendly and efficient staff. I was experiencing intense pain in my gluteus medius which was preventing me from leading my normally active lifestyle. I was recommended to see Dr George Pitsus for Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) injections. I had my first PRP in December 2022 and my second in February 2023. I didn’t need my third in April as my injury had improved to the point whereby I have been able to return to my pre injury activities. So happy with my treatment plan.

I couldn't be happier with the service from Dr George Pitsis, he was very thorough with his diagnosis and explained everything to me in simple easy to understand terms. He ensured i understood what was going on and why i needed certain treatments / scans. George has become my go to Dr for all injuries sport related.

These guys are freaking amazing. I've suffered few years with my elbow until it got to a point where it was unbearable. After getting Dr Pitsis to work his magic I have for the first time in many years of discomfort, enjoy doing the things I love doing.

SMI is great place to get treated for any injury. The staff are very friendly and helpful with booking arrangements and other assistance. My physiotherapist Brendan was very personable and professional in his treatment and advise. I recommend SMI for anyone who needs treatment or exercise therapy.

Super impressive

Received a call early afternoon asking to come earlier as there was a cancellation. Did so. Ended up waiting 45 minutes with no updates. After asking the receptionist, was told 5 more minutes. 10 minutes went by.nothing.so told them I was leaving and wasn't paying for anything. I have no issues waiting for 5 to 15 minutes, but just under an hour is basically an entire appointment. Very disappointed, especially after being asked to come in early.

George and his team at SMI have helped me with my severe Achilles tendinitis. SMI is total care all in the one place. George helping my Achilles heal along with the support of Tom the Physio to get me back on my feet. Everyone is very professional and a pleasure to deal with. I would recommend SMI to anyone.

L got run over by a van and was pretty banged up l have been having physio and seeing George Pitsis who has helped me tremendously getting back to myself.l find him helpful, thorough, and really helpful in my recovery the EP Tom Stretton who also has been helping me recover goes above and beyond to help me. My sincere appreciation to Dr Bikram Karmakar and Dr George Pitsis at SMI for their care and professional assessment. Their clear and concise explanations during a diagnosed distal bicep tendon tear offered immense comfort during a difficult time. It was reassuring to be assessed and scheduled immediately within 7 days for corrective surgery with a great orthopedic surgeon and looking forward to revisiting SMI for their in house physiotherapist for rehabilitation and getting me back on track. Amazing team from reception to doctors. Well done.

I have been a patient at SMI since having a workplace accident. Dr Pitsis, Bendon (physiotherapy) and Tom (exercise physiologist) have been instrumental in getting me back to work and pain free. Fantastic treatment & service. I had quite severe ankle pain & swelling (tendonitis, arthritis), originally from an injury but periodic treatment (over years) from local physio had stopped working. After only a couple of visits to SMI there was a huge reduction in the pain so I could do the exercises & therapy that are definitely leading to a permanent solution. There are no 'quick fixes'! I am now PAIN FREE but must keep going with exercise and a (gradually reducing) regime of therapies, for the permanent fix that is now within my grasp thanks to George, Brendon & Mo.

Couldn’t be happier with how efficient and professional the SMI team is, ranging from the friendly reception staff to the knowledgable and thorough doctors. Very thankful for both Dr Pitsis and Dr Karmakar having successfully treated various gym related injuries I’ve had over the years.
