Spicers Vineyards is accessible to wineries but equally calm and relaxing. The staff are professional but also very personable and are always happy to answer questions or assist when required.
We had dinner in the restaurant - anazing and enjoyed not one but two massages. Overall whilst the rooms and property needs a little TLC, it is still one of my faves and we will continue to stay here when in the Hunter Valley.

Service was great, we were looked after from the moment we stepped into the restaurant. Sourdough bread with charcoal butter was given as a little taste tester. Absolutely delicious. The striploin with pomme puree, marrow butter and hunter Shiraz jus was devine. Sides we chose were the Pepper leaf and pecorino salad, fries with nduja and reggiano. For dessert was Tres leche strawberry, tonka bean ice cream and Milk chocolate semi-freddo, blackberry and lavender were delectable. The caramel Espresso Martini was just perfect

We stayed here for our wedding night and the day after the service was absolute stellar! Not only did they have the room warm and ready for our arrival (as we weren't getting in until 11pm after our wedding) but the staff had left a lovely note and bottle of champagne for us to celebrate our wedding. Restaurant Botanica had the most amazing cocktails and delicious food. We had the five course degustation and the chef was more than accommodating of my seafood allergy, offering a number of different options I could choose from as an alternative. "The Botanica" cocktail was hands-down the best I've ever had! The "Time out for two" treatment at Spa Anise was also amazing. We felt so relaxed and rejuvinated and the staff bought a fruit platter and glasses of champagne to our room after our treatment. Thank you Spicers, for going above and beyond to look after us!

Incredible service, beautiful room, wonderful staff. We had such an amazing time at Spicers Vineyard, was the perfect Christmas getaway.
Plenty of wineries within easy cycling distance. The on-site restaurant was delicious too and we loved feeding the resident pig, Crackle

Exceptional service and everything you need on-site to feel totally relaxed. The ideal destination if you are looking for inner peacefulness, lovely surroundings and kind unpretentious people.

More attention to detail is required in order to live up to the coveted Spicers standard of service and hospitality.

A fantastic venue for celebrating special occasions with family and friends over fantastic dinner at the onsite restaurant (Botanica). To top it all off this venue is dog friendly so being able to have our much loved cocker spaniel with us made this all the more special.

Visiting Spicers Vineyards Estate has become a yearly ritual for my husband and I! We choose it as our getaway each and every year because we know it will be quiet, private and we can spend a few days just relaxing. We know we will get an amazing experience every time we visit, which is why we keep coming back.
Absolutely love the natural, relaxing vibe of this estate, even the bath products are beautiful. Having the included breakfast from Botanica is always an excellent experience for us, and we look forward to our Spicers visit every year!

When looking at the accommodation choices online, we couldn’t decide between Spicer’s Vineyard Estate and The Convent. In the end we decided to book one night in each to experience both properties and their respective restaurants. If are currently reading these reviews to decide between the two hotels, then don’t hesitate and pick up the phone to Spicer’s, as it wins hands down.

While not as aesthetically pleasing as The Convent, Spicer’s is still a beautiful property and having an open fireplace in your room is never a bad thing. The style is more modern country, with the room being large and comfortable. The check-in and check-out were both friendly and efficient, with nice touches like giving guests free flower seeds to plant at home.

The real difference is Botanica, which is a beautiful intimate restaurant. We had a warm welcome from the team and our waitress was amazing. She was only 19 years old but was engaging and had a great knowledge of the wine list and the food on the menu. The wine she recommended was perfect, the dishes she recommended were amazing. Between the restaurant, the service and the food, my wife and I had a memory we will keep for the rest of our lives.

Our waitress not only represented the hotel well, but she promoted the local suppliers so well that we went out of our way to go to Charteris and spend more than anticipated on a few wines and change our route home to stop in at Kuri Kuri Bread Basket to pick up some Sour Dough bread to take home.

The room, the open fires and the amazing food and service will see us returning to this property again.

Martin and all of the staff were absolutely lovely, highly skilled and attentive while still being down to earth. It is obvious that this is a team that works well together, are happy in their jobs and take pride in their areas of expertise. This has become a regular winter getaway for my husband and I. The rooms are always beautiful with additional thoughtful surprise touches which always make the experience extra special. The fireplaces in each room, set up each day and ready to light are the best! All staff seemed to know it was my husband’s birthday which was so incredible. After Covid, and the large staff turnover in the hospitality industry in general, we have experienced some not so great service from other hotels and restaurants as they get back on their feet (which is understandable) but the quality of service here was top notch. Can’t wait to return next year.

Visited here for our honeymoon and it was bliss. The staff were fantastic, the spa was so relaxing and the restaurant on-site was incredible. We had dinner there twice and a delicious breakfast each morning. They even organised room service on our final day when we wanted to sleep in. Very easy location to get to local vineyards. Would definitely visit again.

Stayed here for 2 night and found it overpriced compared with like boutique accommodation such as Peppers and Bannisters. The room was very average with average facilities. The shower didn’t work properly and blinds were broken on back door so sun streamed in the morning and woke my husband and I up. Whole place could do with a refresh as it’s quite dated now. Having said that the on-site restaurant Botanica was a highlight, everything we ate there was delicious.
