Sparrow Coffee - Byron Bay. reviews
21Was there last year, got a coffee and went to pay only to he told they don't take cash, so told them I didn't want it and walked. CASH IS KING! Get out plenty, just not to places that don't take cash. Getting sick of it so that's why the late review.
Looks nice but coffee was very bitter and also cap did not have the right texture. Also very slow service. Wouldn’t recommend as it was mediocre
Awesome coffee & staff! Consistent day in and day out. It's my go to every morning
It's amazing how rude the manager/owner of this venue is.
I was unnecessarily berated for using a "dirty" keep cup. A simple policy explanation would have sufficed rather than a teenage display of passive-aggressivity.
Even after my apology and explaining it was my second coffee for the day (hence the dirty cup), I was subject to a gaze so shocking and scornful you would have thought that I'd committed high treason.
Give it a break, mate. Life is better not being a prick.
Ended up being my favourite coffee in Byron - which is a big deal because there’s a lot of competition!
Thanks
Great coffee, good service but they don't accept legal tender. They only accept electronic payments.

I have recently avoided after being ‘tut tutted’ for asking to rinse my environmentally friendly keep cup. They agreed to do as a once off only. This morning I decided to return only to pay $6 for a weak, cold coffee. Avoid this overpriced place as there are a plethora of other options around Byron Bay.
After the floods and back in full swing, Sparrow is a byron fav - great coffee and yes the colour scheme did inspire the colour of my Kombi
The two ladies on were so friendly and helpful made me a double shot flat white and it was perfect. Thanks and will be back again
The coffee was ok but I got a rude shock when they wouldn't accept my cash. The barista told me they made the switch to digital 2 years ago, presumably in time with the pandemic. I'm unsure if those supporting a cashless society truly understand what this means. They may think they're doing good, but it's actually sabotaging the future for those to come.
The reality of a cashless society means no cash at all. That means that the homeless man who sleeps on the street in front of Sparrow will no longer be able to buy a coffee for himself. Cashless means fully traceable and controlled. I do not support this and I will not be back to Sparrow because I care more about the future of humanity rather than an overpriced coffee.
Quicky pored an exceptional double piccolo. Highly refined machine cleaning process. Pickup a great coffee before window browsing in the area.
Coffee was good, but the staff serving clearly didn't want to be there. I feel bad for the owners in these times.
As a coffee fanatic I always try and find the best place to get a cup, Sparrow did not disappoint whilst in Byron for a few days. Had six cups over 3 days, perfectly extracted each time. In fact, the first time I had their current single origin I had to go back to get another one as my wife took one sip and decided the coffee was her's. The staff are super friendly, a huge thanks to Savita who have us priceless local advice on where to go and eat. Will definitely be returning next time I am back in town.
Great coffee, you need to look our for the place as you might just miss it. Limited seating but the quality caffeine makes up for that.
Great spot for an easy and super good coffee! They have all types of milk and dairy substitutes as well.
The coffee was great, the baristas were nice to talk to and the stoops were a nice spot to sit and people watch while having a cuppa. I just wished they had almond milk.
Great coffee. Fast friendly service. Currently no seating inside, limited outside on this sunny side of the street.
Serious coffee. Friendly staff. Opens up at 6: 00am and there is always a line-up of locals. Would definitely go again. Double shot medium size flat white please!
Just off the main stretch in town, this place is worth a visit. As you’d expect in The Bay, the staff were super chatty and made you feel instantly welcome. Coffee is great, made really well, will definitely be back.
