Southern Warbird Adventures

OK… there’s not enough stars up there as far as I’m concerned; not even roughly!
A thoroughly professional, yet passionate, crew made this flight an absolute gem… Norm greeted us at the gate and walked us in and David did the briefing and the flying of the immaculate Harvard, which, in and of itself, was just fabulous.
However… the kicker here is that some gentle aerobatting is allowed and so it transpired that occasionally I was looking through the top of the canopy at the world, and laughing like a loon! Bear in mind, gentle readers, that aerobatics are optional, not compulsory… though when I’m president of the world, they bloody well will be!
In conclusion, this was about as much fun as you can have with your clothes on, and I’m ever so grateful for the opportunity to fly with David, in a genuine W2 aircraft…
… if you love aviation, and have a pulse, then just do it; I guarantee you that you won’t be disappointed!

Absolutely Phenomenal Experience
David and Norm are True Professionals the experience was great from beginning to end the plane sounded awesome and has a great history behind it I would highly recommend any plane enthusiasts or if your interested in WW2 history to check this experience out.

Southern Warbirds is simply amazing! If you need a special and memorable gift for someone (even for yourself) you should do this! David and Norm are fantastic - they won't let you not have the best flight experience. You can even add aerobatics if you feeling a bit Maverick!

Breathtaking and stunning and I could go on - from the moment you see the plane close up, to briefing, to strapping in and take off, to the view, to barrel rolls, to the view again, to folks waving and taking photos as you land I can't recommend this enough!

This was a birthday present for my husband and he loved it! David and Norm were very knowledgeable with their history of the plane (T6 Texan) and you can tell they really love their work. Definitely recommend for an adventure flight!

Dad was given this experience for his 60th birthday and loved every bit. He described it as an exhilarating experience and Dave as a fabulous pilot who made him feel safe but also able to enjoy all the flight had to offer inclusive of acrobatics and amazing views.

A 10/10 experience - David made sure we booked when the weather conditions were optional and worked around our travel requirements. We were greeted by Norm who was cheerful and welcoming. David explained everything in great detail to my husband who was taking the flight and Norm informed those of us who stayed behind of where and what they were doing in the plane and showed us the best place to see. The plane is in excellent condition and easy to get into and out of. My husband loved the experience, especially the aerobatics. Will be recommending the flight and the business to friends and family so they can experience flying in a warbird. We will be back for more!

This was a wonderful experience. The AT-6, "Miss Fire" is in beautiful shape & obviously well maintained. The Crew Chief, Norm, and the pilot, David were both very friendly and patient, yet very professional, knowledgeable and safety conscious. David is an excellent and very experienced warbird pilot (he has also flown the P-51D, P-40N and Spitfire MkIX, among others), and was very attentive and communicative throughout the flight. I had a good feeling when I saw him do a perfect 3-point landing on the flight before mine. I have flown in warbirds overseas and this outfit is first class. Going to do it again!

This was purchased as a gift for me. All I can say is WOW. The guys running it are amazing, the scenery is phenomenal and the experience of flying in these aircraft are excellent. I can’t recommend it enough. Book with them ASAP.

The communication pre flight from Dave was excellent.
Both friendly and knowledgeable.
The flight was tailored to what my husband wanted to do, some aerobatics at the beginning, above the airport so we could see, then he was allowed to take control of the aircraft for a while.

Truly an amazing experience! From the very beginning when booking, until the day of the flight. Dave and Norm are incredibly welcoming and informative. We purchased an aerobatic flight in the T6 Texan for our son’s 18th birthday and he absolutely loved it. We highly recommend Southern Warbird Adventures and would be happy to book with them again. I choose this as a birthday gift for my husband’s 40th and I wasn’t sure if he’s gonna like it. And guess what, he lovvvvved it ️. If anyone would like to have a real life Topgun experience, I would highly recommend this. My husband admired all the details from how David briefed all the things he needed to know, being considerate of what he wanted from the experience making sure he gets the best out of it and that landing was so smooth, he didn’t even feel the wheels touching the runaway.

Simply amazing! Norm and pilot David so passionate and dedicated to keep the history alive. Had the best flight over the Burragorang Valley and finished with some acrobatics of barrel rolls and loop the loop. A must do bucket list experience!

A must-do experience with fantastic hosts, David and Norm. Super friendly and knowledgeable. David was extremely helpful to arrange a flight on a special date for a surprise birthday gift. The planes are stunning and it was very special to see and hear one fly. Can’t recommend highly enough!
