SOUL Dining

Not sure what the hype is about. I’m Korean American and I seek out Korean contemporary fusion restaurants. I’ve been to a lot of great places in NY and LA and was excited to see one in Sydney. I had the tuna carpaccio and it was so drenched in sauce and the flavors were so overpowering that you forget that there’s tuna in there. I then tried the octopus and it was slightly undercooked. The fish was overall bland even with the chili sauce and squid ink aioli. No matter how much to get the flavor onto the squid, it didn’t blend. I ended up not finishing it. I’d skip this restaurant and go for the authentic Korean food instead.

The new location is fantastic! The food was amazing! We had to get two servings of the rice bread because it was just that good.

We also really enjoyed the sweet potato dessert. The kimchi was a surprising finish!

Service and atmosphere was also excellent, not pretentious but quick and professional.

The atmosphere is so classy and all the food is delicious! I plan to come again later with my parents.

I was a bit worried after reading some reviews, but it turned out to be the best course meal I've had recently. There is Korean fusion cuisine, and each dish felt carefully crafted. The ingredients harmonized perfectly, making me happy throughout the meal. Specially I love the bread that I ate first! And the bartender recommended special desert wine, it was assume! And the young Korean female manager (Not sure, but she work professional) had a great sense, adding to the pleasant experience. She continuously looked after guests, handling things professionally. We can understand and enjoy the food because she briefly explained each of the dishes. It feels like we received service beyond what we paid for. Unfortunately, I couldn't know her name, and I'm grateful for making my trip special!

Was there and wanted to leave a bad review, but was called by the restaurant to not to do so. I have been to plenty of Michelin restaurants in my life and this is not one of them that’s worth it.

Without doubt & by far the best restaurant I’ve ever been to. Food was exquisite, staff were amazing, words can’t explain how good this place is. Must be experienced to be believed.

Very warm dining spot. We definitely over ordered for 2. Everything was okay nothing exceptional. Most dishes were on the sweeter side. The Beef Short Rib was a let down since it was so dry and chewy. Good to experience once but won’t come back for it.

This is the restaurant to go to if thinking of having a nice dinner and an easy night out on a Friday.
We had the tasting menu, my favourites were the rice cake - tasty, the Octopus - perfectly cooked and flavour was spot on, escargot - thought it was a nice take 'korean version', tartare - went well with the seaweed base, and the chicken - tender, borderline dry but there's the sauce which lifted the dish - good flavour. Cocktail, wine selection and service were good

*Kimchi kingfish is missing the spice intense of kimchi water compare to the dish they used to present.
*Corn ribs are also missing some spicy flavour from previous presentation. （a year ago）
*Octopus is better as it is still tendering as previous but improved by crispy texture on the outside. Always my favourite dish.
* Pork chop is so tender but the sauce is not matching. Orange sauce is not my thing，it is stronger than the mustard sauce which make it unbalanced to me.
* Love the rice cake as always.
* Dessert of the day is nice. Very sweet and light
* They changes set quantity. Used to serve 2 pieces kingfish per person per set. I will skip the set menu but go for a la carte.

Good food, good service, happy customer. The presentation of the food are very nice as well. Will come back.

Had dinner at SOUL Dining last night, and it was truly a great experience.

We didn't like the cocktail that much, but we both prefer sweeter cocktails so it might just doesn't match our taste buds but the food were all great and so as the atmosphere. Definitely coming back for another occasion?

Food was amazing and service even better. Big shout out to jezza for his tips on where to go after and his great recommendations in the restaurant.

Everything was great and the complimentary mochi bread was the best texture. The claypot rice was basically a risotto but I'm not complaining. It tasted beautiful. The octopus was perfectly cooked.

I'd skip the tteokbokki as the rice cake was overcooked. The steak was also not juicy enough to be worth $90+. Also nothing special about the devil eggs.

Amazing Korean fine dining. I haven’t tried Korean food like this before, I was pleasantly surprised. 100% could come back here.

Delicious contemporary Korean food! Everything was yummy but stand outs were the Mandu and Octopus dishes. The octopus was soooooo tender it was probably the best octopus I have eaten ever! Service was also top notch! Highly recommend Soul Dining!

Friendly staff, efficient service and the food was tasty. If you could order some rice to mop up some of the sauces from the dishes, it would've been fantastic!

Disappointing service and won’t be coming back. The manager was supper arrogant and impolite. He made me feeling not welcome and hospitable.
