Sofitel Sydney Darling Harbour

Place was spectacular!
Great Location & Friendly Staff!
Room Service Food…. Overpriced and not tasty.

It was crowded during my visit, probably because there was an event, but all the staff there were friendly. Transportation is not inconvenient if you use L1 well.

I waited 1 hour for my car to be available from expensive valet parking. Very dissapointed.

I like to stay in this hotel since 4 years ago. I love everything about this hotel but this time i’m not happy with the receptionist her name is Emily. She’s a bit rude. She needs to change the way she talks. Thanks.

Upon arrival we can feel the welcoming atmosphere from every staff and well designed lobby. The rooms we been assigned was next to each other which is very convenient to my family with young kids. Great restaurant and great breakfast. A nice unlimited pool with fabulous darling harbour view from deck. Good gym room with view. Convenient locations to the local restaurant near ultimo and Hay market. Especially, great late 12pm check out upon my request. However, the only problem with this hotel is no carpark on site and the valet parking fee is higher than other local nearby hotels. It would be great if the hotel can partner up with ICC to offer daily rate parking with unlimited entry for Sofitel guests. As an Accor member myself I am impressed with my past stay with Sofitel both at Darling Harbour and Melbourne Collins St Sofitel.

I recently had the opportunity to stay at the Sofitel Darling Harbour and had a mixed experience overall. While there were some aspects I genuinely appreciated, there were also areas where my expectations were not met.
Firstly, I must commend you on the lovely room and the beautiful view it provided. The bed was beyond comfortable and the scenic view added a touch to my stay. The superior room was lovely.

Additionally, your staff members were notably friendly and accommodating throughout my stay. Their warm and helpful demeanor made me feel welcome, and I genuinely appreciated their efforts to ensure my comfort.

However, I must express my disappointment in a couple of aspects of my stay:

1. Overpriced Buffet Breakfast: The buffet breakfast, priced at $52, left much to be desired. While the surroundings were elegant and inviting, I found the variety of food offered did not justify the high cost. In comparison to the price, the selection seemed limited, and I was hoping for a more exceptional dining experience for the price point.

2. Luggage Experience: Upon checking out, I encountered a less-than-pleasant experience when receiving my luggage. Coffee had been spilled all over my luggage and while I brought this issue to the attention of the staff member at the front desk, I regret to say that the response was lacking in empathy. I expected a more understanding and concerned approach, considering the inconvenience this caused. Moreover, I suggested that this feedback be relayed to the staff responsible for handling luggage, but it appeared that the staff member was in a hurry to complete my check-out and did not address my concern adequately.

In light of these experiences, I regret to say that I do not plan on returning to this hotel. As a superior five-star hotel, my expectations were high, and unfortunately, they were not fully met during my stay.

I hope you will consider my feedback constructively, as it is my intention to help you improve the overall guest experience at your hotel. I believe that with some adjustments, you have the potential to provide an exceptional and memorable stay for all your guests.

Great hotel with great rooms and service.
I stayed here to attend conference at ICC Sydney, best decision made ever.

Located conveniently near Darling Harbour - there is no shortage of restaurants to eat or places to shop.

Quick walk to train connecting to other harbours - you will never be bored.

In room dining and breakfast buffet were great. Amenities and toileries in room were good. Suitable for family, people on vacation oe those travelling for business.

Great view from the 22nd floor. The lights were difficult to work but the view made up for it. I would definitely stay again! Wonderful service!

The staff were very helpful and friendly. The hotel is in a prime location near light rail. The view from the room is so stunning too.

The only downside that I can think of is the pillows were a little too flat for my liking and the bed was not the most comfortable that I have experienced.

Offering fantastic view over the Harbour, thus great location; contemporary interior design, amenities and facilities are great; windows shall be cleaned more frequently; occasionally price is a bit over; overall a very classic Sofitel.

This is my my fifth time coming here and I still love it. It always stays clean and new. Despite there wasn't a buffet breakfast, due to covid, we still loved the food. Highly recommend coming to stay. I am proud to say this is one of the best hotels in the city

Pretty impressed. Every staff member we interacted with from arrival to departure, gave a flawless customer service.

As some constructive feedback, some electric powered blinds would be handy and maybe relocate the mini fridge somewhere else. Being situated in the bathroom seems a little unusual to me. Incredibly minor though and our stay was still worth every dollar spent.

My wife and I do not normally go for these top end hotels, but it was our honeymoon and we thought why not? Woooowza. It is going to be hard to stay anywhere else. The room was overlooking Darling Harbour, with a bath tub right up against the window. The Millesime club provided us with afternoon tea, candles and much more. We felt like royalty. Breakfast daily was excellent with fantastic service. Couldnt have thought of a better place to spend our honeymoon.

Disappointed that a bottle of water was charged at $17 ($9.00 for a 750ml + $8 tray fee) considering there is no drinks in the rooms not snacks this fee should not be charged!

Pool needs to be booked - checked in at 3pm and was not able to get into the pool till 6: 30pm - who wants to swim at night?

From the moment we entered the Sofitel we had a great experience. The staff are welcoming, Renato acknowledged our wedding anniversary and placed us in a beautiful suite on the 33rd floor with spectacular views of Darling Harbour, thank you it was lovely. We booked the Romance package and the French champagne was delivered with chocolates which was a great start to the afternoon. The pool area is well maintained and the bar staff very efficient. Having a bath menu is a nice added touch, very relaxing bath and rain shower. The room was extremely quiet and peaceful. Great views and well maintained gym area. Lazing by the pool the next day with cocktails topped off the stay, be sure to book in advance. Breakfast is
A la carte and again the staff very accommodating and friendly. This is truly a five star experience. Would stay again. Thank you Sofitel for a lovely wedding anniversary experience!

Spacious rooms and located very close to Darling harbour and the light rail stop. Buffet breakfast served was a la carte and was delicious, would definitely recommend a stay here.

My wife Jodie and I have recently returned from a 5 night stay at Sofitel Darling Harbour and have really enjoyed our stay again. The view from the rooms are outstanding, the rooms spotlessly clean and a great place to relax and an ideal location near ferries, shops, restaurants and the city itself. We would both like to thank various staff members who went above and beyond during our stay there and would like this message passed on to them if at all possible. The wonderful team at Club Sofitel on Level 35 were absolutely outstanding during a busy time. Huge thanks to Vincent, Mitchell and Wayne especially, from the two of us, for the outstanding service received. They are huge assets to your business and their service and work was very much appreciated by us both. Thank you to all at Sofitel Darling Harbour for another wonderful stay and see you next time!

Fantastic hotel and location! Be aware the pool is not heated as advertised, it is an icebox! Staff argued it was, but all the guests swimming in it knew it was freezing and no heat whatsoever pumped into it. Made our stay a bit disappointing as we booked to swim.
All other services, restaurants and gym were fantastic. Staff very friendly.
