Beware of lies and shady tactics to avoid processing membership cancellations.

I wrote an email to Snap Fitness Zetland to cancel my membership. The manager replied saying "As per Snap Fitness Ts&Cs, we require cancellations to be made in person at Snap Fitness Zetland. "

This is a total lie, not to mention the club was closed until Saturday 13 June.

The Membership Terms and Conditions I signed state only that cancellations should be in writing. Nothing about needing to attend in person, or during staffed hours, or speaking to a manager. The Snap Fitness web site states that cancellations are accepted by email.

I called the manager out out on this, but have recieved no further reply. I also reached out to Snap Fitness Head Office explaining the situation. They referred me back to the individual club, so no help there.

Having received no reply, I went to the club on Saturday during staffed hours, only to be told that their system wasn't working and that I should come back on Monday.

It is totally unacceptable to be lied to, told I must come in person, then told to come back another day.

It's an ok gym, but I can't tolerate shady tactics. My advice is don't trust Snap Fitness with your bank or card details.

The new manager is rude and aggressive. The music is offensive. Cancelled my membership but they never responded and I’m still being debited

Brought back a manager who allows members to be bullied and treats some members and trainers very poorly.

For me the gym was perfect in terms of location - there are not many other options around, and Snap fitness is the most attractive in terms of price.

As a relative newbie to the gym experience I have no major complaints - all the equipment I needed was there and I was never waiting around too long for machines, which is a bonus given it is a pretty small gym. There's some wear and tear (uneven flooring, accessory equipment such as pads, etc are pretty worn) but the new manager is aware of it and is eager to sort these things out.

Otherwise the staff are very friendly and Ben the PT is very good at what he does. They are always eager to help with things.

Pros: Friendly staff and gym
Cons: Uneven flooring, weights are all around the weight rack, worn/old and mixed up, cracked mirrors, ropes are completely in tatters, some equipment has split padding and those are just the things I use.

Quite busy during ‘normal gym hours’, which is to be expected in this area, though it doesn’t translate to additional staff.

Was a member at the Petersham Snap and genuinely miss that gym now, much higher all-round standard.

STAY AWAY FROM SNAPFITNESS

Pushed new membership right before closing Bondi Junction gym permanently! Then transfer you to the closest gym, Snapfitness Double Bay.
Gym has been closed few days without any notice to anyone for dispute with the landlord. No communication. Gym open again a week later, no explanation, no excuse nothing.
Few weeks later same again, they closed the gym permanently with a 24h notice but guess what, keep charging membership!
No one to refund.

My first review was 5 starts, but now I had to change it. Since the manager change (2 months ago) the gym has been absolutely mess, weights everywhere, changing rooms are really dirty and restrooms out of toilet paper. The daily cleaning takes about the whole day, which means that all the cleaning stuff is around the changing rooms for the whole day. And you have posters everywhere that “ no towel, no play”, and yet still some of your staff works out without a towel

Staff very friendly but not strict with their rules 8.30 to midnight members are not using towel on the benches.

The place is fully equipped and always keeps perfecting (classes, equipments, lounge, security) ; staffs are extremely friendly and helpful. Happy to stick with it.

Been coming here for a few years now and can definitely recommend it as far as both price point and equipment. If something ever breaks it’s replaced fairly quickly and everything is in great condition. Could use some calisthenics equipment like gym rings, but it’s otherwise great. 24 hour access is a huge plus too.

The best gym in neighborhood. I've been training here for over 6 months and never disappointed. Great equipped, either you want to do cardio, free waights or functional training they have got it covered. Manager Julian is always helpful so is the rest of the staff. Aga has always smile on her face and brings positivity to the place. Keep up the good job guys.

I highly recommend Snap Fitness Zetland and if you are looking for a gym in this area, be sure they are the best, seeing that all staff members are friendly, gym is always clean and full range of outstanding equipment for all levels.
