Smooth As Silk Laser and Cosmetic Clinic Sydney CBD

The Newtown clinic was good. Surry Hills clinic operating like a backyard operation. No signage, clinic not yet fit out, no reception staff & therefore unable to wait inside as patients in full view. Looks like a cosmetic cowboy clinic. Don't open a clinic until you are fully set up!

Did my first laser hair removal treatment here and there was no consult or explanation beforehand on what the procedure would be like. The receptionist/therapist didn’t check to see if I was okay during the treatment, or after and didn’t offer any care instructions. She also didn’t do spot treatment to assess the appropriate power level suitable for me - I felt that it could have been higher to elicit better results, but was not given the opportunity to express this. I felt that the session was too brief because she seemed like she was rushing through the whole thing. Overall service was really cold, disappointing and unsatisfactory: (

Was some confusion over how to book online, and when called to speak to manager, Vanessa was extremely rude and cold. Refused to let me speak to a manager or even give a name unless I was a client. Guess this is how she prevents herself from getting in trouble for bad customer service. Well not going to be a client after the way she treats customers. No personality, dont recommend booking in with this place with staff like Vanessa.

Had a wonderful hydrating facial and microdermabrasion treatment over the weekend. The staff were courteous, professional and very generous with their time. Well known in the inner west for being the best.

I called and spoke to a cold and unfriendly receptionist. Very off-putting. The overall service may be great but I won't be contacting them again.

I have given Smooth As Silk Laser 5 stars because of the ladies, and I always have the best experiences. HOWEVER, due to the constant malfunctioning of the AC system I have now had to reschedule for the second time. I have constantly heard the ladies on the phone with the AC guys, and this has been going on since December? It is totally uncomfortable for us as the client to even consider bearing it and it sure as hell is for the ladies who have to work in the sweltering heat on top of no AC.

I was a new client here at this clinic and the service was absolutely amazing. I have never had such caring and efficient laser hair removal from any other practice before. Louisa was really thorough to make sure every aspect of the desired areas were treated properly and thoroughly. Laser bookings can always be a little nerve racking sometimes but Louisa definitely made me feel very comfortable. The only downfall I have is that the air conditioning wasn’t working in the clinic which initially wasn’t an issue but as the procedure began the room did get quite hot and the skin around my neck and chest flared up and became quite blotchy and irritated (I didn’t have any treatment near there as it was on my arms). Louisa did apologise for the heat and attempted to cool me down, lucky I only had my arms to do, I’m not sure how it would have impacted me or any other patient If they were to have their full body lasered in one session! The clinic should definitely look into investing a cooling system even if it’s a portable AC unit because the room was quite stuffy and with the added heat from the laser it could cause or lead to safety issues. Will definitely come back for Louisa!

This is second time went there for laser hair removal for 3 parts of area, its was a really bad experience. Its has no air-con of twice i been there. The staff told me of air-con still fixing even after 2 months. I FULLY PAID of that but even i can not finish my whole treatment. Would not recommend this place at all.

For both dermal fillers and botox treatments, this is the best cosmetic clinic in Sydney by far!

Second time I’ve been here in 2 months and the air con wasn’t working. This time, I couldn’t even do the appointment because the machine had overheated so wasted my time. Poor working conditions - not right at all. Very unimpressed, for the amount the treatments cost the least you could do is fix the air con

Really love coming to this niche clinic. The staff are always helpful when trying to get a last minue appointment and the treatments here are amazing. They are great at tailoring individual skin care treatment plans for specific skin concerns and always make me feel comfortable without any hard sell tactics that I've encountered at other places. I'm so thankful they are located in Newtown as I would happily travel all through town to see them if I had to! I couldn’t recommend enough.

I went in to ask for directions. I got treated like a moron. Absolutely vile, uncivil staff member. Please learn how to talk to a fellow human.

Went for laser hair removal for my chin and upper lip.it was burning after and I was given an ice pack. A few days later I got pigmentation marks on my upper lip and chin. 2.5 months later, the marks are still there. I have given smooth and silk many chances to make it right but they weren’t helpful at all. They never followed up (In fact they refused to follow up when I asked them too) and I had to always keep calling them. It’s very easy for them to say to ‘stay out of the sun and it takes time’. Pretty hard to stay out of the sun in Sydney and minimum efforts to follow up and help it heal. Would not recommend this place.

Saw Dr Jodlovich after a bad experience with another injector and appreciated both his genuine approach and concern for my best interests.
Will definitely see him for future treatment when I’m able and highly recommend (especially for someone who is new to dermal fillers and nervous).

A short while ago I had a very unpleasant and traumatic experience with Smooth As Silk Laser clinics. I booked a laser appointment for my full legs and underarms and ended up with extensive burns. As it was my first experience with laser treatments, I relied on the therapist to inform me of all processes and be sufficiently experienced and attentive throughout the entirety of the treatment. Although I voiced my concerns that I was in pain and or very uncomfortable during the treatment, the therapist brushed off my concerns and assured me that everything was normal. After the treatment, I was in a significant amount of pain and recognised that I had been burned badly. Despite this, when I called Smooth As Silk the following day, the therapist was very flippant about my concerns and would not take me seriously. Only upon my insistence did she have a look at my legs again and let me book an appointment with Dr Tom to check if I had been burned. At this point I was very fed up and just wanted to treat my legs for the burns as soon as possible to prevent any scarring. Dr Tom confirmed I had been burned and offered me creams to sooth my legs, a full refund and complementary microdermabrasion to help with any hyperpigmentation. While I am grateful for the follow up and offered services, none of this would have been necessary if I had not been burned in the first place.

After many years of shaving my unwanted body hair, I made the leap of faith and signed up for laser hair removal. From the minute I walked in to this clinic, I felt very comfortable. The services were painless and went by smoothly. Pricing was good based on the handful of places I shopped around for and the service was worth every dollar and then some more. I highly recommend this clinic to anyone in Sydney that has been thinking about getting laser hair removal done.

I am so thankful to get a botox treatment here. The staff were so nice and it was so professional and the people were caring. Highly recommended! A+
