Our experience with Silverton Outback Camels was amazing!

We visited in Jan uary 2023, after a day's delay due to some extreme weather. We arrived at 7pm, and mounted up on the camel train - my wife and I were not directly together, but the train was not too long, and we could call to each other.

During the walk, we learned all about camels, and took in the serene beauty of Silverton at sunset. We walked across the back of the property, into the main street to an open section where the sunset views were the best. After watching the sunset at 8: 20pm, we then made our way back in the twilight and were back before the light was gone.

We absolutely loved our time there, and Petah took plenty of photos of everyone to share with us!

If you're visiting Broken Hill, I 100% recommend taking the time to head out to Silverton for this experience, it's unmissable.

Tried to book online, was directed to ring. Three phone calls, over 2 days, still no contact. Went to the farm no one around it seemed to be closed. No signage or information. Still waiting for phone call back. VERY disappointed

We absolutely loved our first camel ride. Petah's farm is just so delightful; you will fall in love with her animals. Thanks for the wonderful experience, Petah, and hope to catch up with you when you're in the Gold Coast.

Can't get a better place to feel at ease, welcome and one with the animals out there. Petah is one strong woman who is amazing at what she does. 10/10

Such an incredible experience. Really takes you back and makes you feel the appreciation as to what these animals did back in the day. Great authentic way to see the local scenery and be educated by some of the towns history and botanical wildlife. Petah and Duncan really are lovely operators of this experience. I also enjoyed spending time with their other animals at the end of the tour.

Our crazy crew of eight are all about making memories, and our stay at Silverton Outback Camels did just that. The kids are still raving about Terminator ToTo and Licorice the baby lamb. The Warrigal Cottage was clean, comfortable, and even had some creature comforts we didn't expect. We felt welcomed by everyone at the farm and can't wait to book another stay. Only, next time, our booking will include a sunset tour on those incredible camels!

Amazing and relaxing camel ride. Love to see all the animals are well looked after. Thank you very much Petah for making this a highlight of our journey. We're planning to come back next Autumn for a sunset ride. Xx

We went to Broken Hill purely to do this experience and it did not disappoint! The camels were so calm and well trained. The ride featured information about camels as well as Silverton, thanks to the knowledgable Duncan. The beautiful back drop of an amazing sunset made it even more special. Also got a chance to pat some goats and llamas.

This experience was by far the highlight of our trip. Petah was very friendly on the phone while taking our booking and helpful with suggesting to stay across the road at Penrose Park where there was lots of shade. (camped in January) when we arrived for our tour we had a look around the farm and went in with the animals. Goats, alpacas, emus, ostriches, ponies, donkeys and obviously Camels. They were all super friendly.
When the camel tour started, Duncan was very informative and made us feel at ease. He took us on an hour and a half trek around Silverton while giving us all the history of the town and camels. He also took loads of amazing photos for us. The sunset was so amazing.
Highly recommended this camel tour if you are in silverton
Thanks Petah and Duncan for making us feel so welcome.

Firstly I need to apologise for taking so long before I post a review. Trust me it’s not been for the lack of trying. I returned back to England almost 2 months ago and I’m still highly impressed by the wonderful service of Petah and Duncan.
The first time I visited their place I arrived, unannounced, without a booking and was met with greetings usually reserved for old friends and family. They were already busy with a tour underway but they graciously made time for me giving clear instructions which were easy to follow.
They went above and beyond, with incredible inclusivity for me and the many people I’ve returned with, (friends from various walks of life, some with SEN) on subsequent visits. You can expect trampolining with the goats, getting hugs from deer to stupendous camel rides with Duncan’s entertainment throughout. In my humble opinion it’s truly criminal to come anywhere near without visiting. Such is the quality. I can not wait to return to see how they expand and wish those involved at Silverton Outback all the best.

Duncan and Petah run a very special attraction here
Their empathy with the animals, the town and to history is easy to follow and gives you a picture of the heady days of mining, 4000 plus population and the start of the BHP company.

Camel ride was wonderful. Myself, wife and 3 kids, aged 5,6 and 14 all loved it. We did a one hour ride through the town of Silverton. It's a small town and to see it on camel back makes the day special. You must do this, family will love it.
