I am really enjoying my Tuesday night pottery. Yegena is an amazing teacher and lots of fun. I have met some great people who are happy to share their skills. Absolutely recommend.

I took a beginners class at Silky Shapes 12 months ago and loved it so much I have been coming back ever since! Yegana is an excellent teacher who has built a warm and welcoming studio. The community at the studio is so helpful and friendly. I highly recommend Silky Shapes to anyone who is interested in trying their hand at this addictive hobby!

The beginners course is a great way to get started throwing on the wheel, with flexible returning student sessions and independent studio time to practice and create. Yegana is an approachable and knowledgeable teacher, and I've very much enjoyed learning from her.

I started by doing the 3 beginners lessons and absolutely loved it. Yegana is excellent teacher, so patient and encouraging. I stuck with it аnd a few months later I am loving it even more. It is not just a pottery studio but a community where you meet people, share ideas and have fun. Yegana is very generous with her time and very supportive of all your crazy ideas. The highlight of the Saturdays are the morning pottery classes now. Thank you Yegana.

Professional pottery studio conveniently located in Crows Nest, easy access by car or public transport. The studio is spacious and airing, is divided into areas for different activities. Booking system is very easy to use.
Yegana is an amazing teach, her instructions are step by step and detailed, easy to understand and follow, she also makes sure every student gets her hands-on help during the process, not to mention she has amazing memory and remembers her students by name, making the learning process personalised experience and fun! Have been going to the classes as return student for a few months now and will definitely continue.

Yegana is a very friendly and patient teacher. I’ve been coming to classes for about 6 months now and each week she is still so welcoming and encouraging. My throwing and trimming skills have progressed so much because of her. The studio atmosphere is very organised and dynamic for a creative space. I first came to silky shape for our Christmas party and had such a fabulous experience I booked the beginners course and love it! Yegana is a fab teacher. I really look forward to my studio time where I can switch off from work and life stressors. It’s also a great community of people.

We made 6 nice looking pieces of pottery (with lots of advice, and some help, from the teacher.). Not easy, but lots of fun.

Yegana is a fabulous teacher. She knows when to gently guide you and when to softly push you to the next level. She inspires you to find your own creative path and develop your skills. I love my pottery classes every week. Silky Shapes has become my quiet, happy, creative outlet.

I first visited Silky Shapes as part of the 3 week beginners class. Yegana was so helpful and patient, and I learnt so much. I instantly felt a passion for ceramics. I’ve done some other classes too, hand building using coils and slab building. I’ve booked in for a decorating class and an upcoming Nerikomi class and I am now a returning student. I have so much I want to learn and Yegana is a wonderful teacher. The other students are all so fun and supportive and encouraging, I call Silky Shapes my happy place. Highly recommend it to everyone.

I’ve been learning ceramics at Silky Shapes on and off for a few years. Yegana is such an experienced and patient teacher. She offers lessons and advice on all aspects of ceramic techniques, for beginners to advanced potters. A fantastic studio. Highly recommended.

I love my time at Silky Shapes! Yeganna is a great teacher who gives you just the right amount of guidance to balance you finding your own way whilst you get hands on expert guidance in throwing and decoration. Over the last 6 months I've been able to gradually build my pottery skills and take home lots of pieces to add to my hand built collection.
