Sikh Heritage Museum of Australia reviews
22 Just one word. Wow!
Beautiful modern museum telling the story of the Sikh gurus and explains in very simple language what Sikhism stands for. The sacrifices the gurus make brings tears to your eyes.
There is also a spot where you can take your photo and see how a turban (select your style and colour) along with various facial hair styles will look on you.
Do visit it when you come to see the Dikh temple.
One of the best Sikh Heritage Museum I've seen and I have been to Punjab to many temples. The friendly Sikh man educated us quite alot and we had langar next door. Very friendly. Will come back again
Fantastic museum documenting the detailed history of the Woolgoolga Sikh community and their valuable contribution to Australian society since the late 19th century. Provides a fascinating insight to their heritage, religion, spiritualty and cultural traditions. Highly recommend this place, then head across the road to share a plate of delicious food at the temple.
Sikh history of Australia was very well pictured. Satnam Singh was very informative and helpful…
This museum is a phenomenal cultural experience. You will learn fascinating facts about the history of the Sikh community from the time they arrived in Australia to the present day. Highly recommended if you love art and culture.
A really worthwhile visit. The guy that showed us around taught me a lot in a very short time. Wonderful people.
Very interesting. It was great to be taken on a tour by a guide. Great to learn a bit about the religion and history of the Sikhs In the area.
Must visit. It provides you with vast knowledge of Sikkhism and also learn about the Berry industries and the existence of the Mini Punjab
It's is a great place for families to refresh historic memories. Kids will be impressed to see the collection of photos, 3d images and traditional music instruments of Guru sahibaan's times. It's a must visit place. Thanks to sewadars.
A lot to learn at this place and if you belong to Sikh culture still you might find some interesting findings.
Moreover, they do have collections of traditional instruments with touch of new tech where you can hear how particular instrument sounds like. In addition, there is a virtual turban stimulator where you can try different styles of turbans and how they might look on your face.
A must go place if you are passing by woolgoolga or just around woolgoolga.
Commendable work of putting together glimpses of the Great History of Sikhs right from its foundation to early settlement of Sikhs in Woolgoolga well over a century ago till date. Highly recommended when you visit Coffs Harbour/Woolgoolga. It's free to view. There is a donation box at exit if you wish to contribute.
Definitely worth a visit when in Woopi. Fascinating and friendly museum with an excellent presentation on the Sikh community's history in the area and more generally.
Very well presented - the Sikh history from Punjab to Australia. A must see for anyone who wants to know the background of the Sikh religion.
My husband & I thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the Sikh Museum. The gentleman there gave us a great guided tour. Learning the history of how the the Sikh people came to settle in Woolgoolga & also learning the culture & customs of the religion. We felt very welcomed. Thank you.
Very good effort by Sikhs of this town. Sikh Heritage is just Infront of Gurdwara Sahib. Showing dress code of Nihang Singh's (True Khalsa). Sikh traditional weapon, struggling life of Sikh Immigrants, pics of old and first to enter Australia as farm labourers. A worth visiting Heritage monument of Sikhs in Australia.
Very interesting to learn more about the Sikh religion, community, and their great contribution to Australia.
Australia's first Sikh temple. A beautiful place to worship god. It has a positive feel just the visit felt like a person is in other world.
This place welcomes to everyone, the first gurudwara built in Australia, if I am not wrong, great vibes, very peaceful, last not to forget, a guru langar for all
A very friendly and helpful introduction to the Sikh faith and also it's history in Australia.
Very positive vibes. While we were going, a lady approached us, invited us to have Prasad (lunch). She served us with great love and kindness Thank you
