Shoal Bay Foreshore Reserve reviews
13Beautiful reserve and lovely walk along the water. Lots of shady port Jackson fig trees. Picnic tables. Plenty of paid parking but would imagine in holiday times the place would be packed.
Being improved all the time, is a great east walk, fabulous views, with playground, plenty of places to eat, or picnic, the view is amazing. At the base of the Summit which is worth walking to see the amazing views
Beautiful foreshore walk with a couple of paths stretching to each end of Shoal Bay and well beyond. Very accessible and there are a couple of cafes along the walk
A Fabulous location, providing brilliant walking tracks along the waterfront, and for the more energetic people why not walk up the mountain? (I am unable to walk up the mountain so I asked people who have and there are two routes you can take. One is easier while the other route is more challenging if you are walking directly to the top).
This reserve offers a very relaxing outlook as you can see from the photos. Ample bench seating, from under sheltered tables and bench seats located along the walking paths.
I observed people using their mobility scooters with ease. The Port Stephens Council certainly provides excellent facilities if you have difficulty with your mobility and you just need to exercise at your own pace. Well done.
I frequent the Zenith Cafe Restaurant and Bar across the road for what I believe serves the best coffee that I have had during my travels.
Parking isn't a problem along the foreshore but I would imagine that during the warmer days, it could mean a short walk though. There are steps leading down to the beach with great handrail support. Be careful if there is sand on the step treads it may be a touch slippery.
This location is well worth a visit if you are in the Port Stephens location.
Paradise. Picture perfect and serene Shaol bay. It's Autumn and yet the most beautiful weather for several people were seen doing laps in the gentle bay water. The sun was warn and lovely to sit in. Amenities such as clean public toilets and food shops and easy car parking. A kiddies play ground and close walk to a jetty we also noticed a few fishermen there. We let our son play in the sand and water when We shared a wood fired pizza and enjoyed the afternoon and the locals were friendly also. Highly recommend a visit. I'm guessing it's a popular holiday destination so why not go off peak when it's still lovely and not as busy? Only an hours drive from Newcastle.
Excellent foreshore reserve. Came here twice for a quick swim and sunbathing during my 3 day trip to Port Stephens. It's very quiet as well and kind of like an exclusive private beach during weekdays during my visit.
What a gem Shoal Bay Foreshore is. Most times the foreshore is just a way of getting somewhere else. But this place has it all going on.
Location is absolutely stunning of the beautiful coastline. There are plenty of places to sit should you like one. Tables and chairs provided some being under cover for people looking to do a picnic lunch by the sea. BBQ area also available which is fantastic in such a great spot.
There are toilets at both ends of the foreshore, the ones I used at the far end were clean and well stocked with supplies.
Parking can be an issue on popular days. Protected swimming area, and fishing from two piers. Greased area above the dandy beach. Amenities block is located in the reserve.
Absolutely stunning no more to say l highly recommend if you get the chance to visit go there it's a hidden paradise.
Very popular. Family friendly.
Coffee shops. Aussie Bob's fish and chips. IGA supermarket. Restaurant's Pizza shops, just a few minutes walk away
Very family oriented spot, plenty of places to eat/takeaway.
Lovely place for a morning/afternoon swim, BBQ facilities and toilets available.
Good beach access. Showers for rinsing off. Many benches and picnic tables located the grassy area. Plenty of parking if there prior to lunch time. Course my visit was mid Oct. Planning on a return trip!
