Shoal Bay Country Club

Came here for lunch. Big venue so could easily fit our big group of 8. Decent food, huge servings. Loved the atmosphere.

Great spot to sit with a view in Shoal Bay, the food was amazing, such good flavours and value. Can’t wait to come back!

Atmos: Great food, great drinks (cocktails were amazing) ; the service timing was perfect; the waiter was one of the best I’ve ever had - fun, friendly, knowledgeable, responsive. (5️)
SBCC front bar: Incorrectly made and weak cocktails; below average service; bar staff (one in particular) with the WORST attitude I’ve ever come across (and I’m up from Melbourne where we aren’t exactly known for our smiles). The others were ok, but the atmosphere was like no one actually wanted to be working. (1️)

Nice service and the surcharge for Sunday is only 5%, restaurant is under good management.

First time visiting this club with my daughter, wow what an amazing club with the best customer service I have ever come across, the staff went way above and beyond to make our night amazing. Thankyou for a great night and when we come and stay in Nelson’s bay again we definitely will be back.

Great place to catch up with friends and relax. My view is great, but it's a but pricey

The seafood platter is so fresh than any other restaurant I tried in Newcastle. Highly recommended the seafood platter.

We went there for dinner and ordered a pizza. They have a special event from boxing day to Australia day in which they have live music every night during that period. It was a fun and lively environment. Great view of the bay on the second floor. Best place we've been in Shoal Bay.

Don't let the country club name fool you. This place is amazing for lunch with a view and a few drinks.

Lady at the front was the rudest human I’ve ever come across. Didn’t even want to go in to eat because of her. Very disappointing

This country club has a wonderful view and access to Shoal Bay; amazing location. The water and landscape is beautiful.

Absolutely stunning environment, it was crowded because of holiday but still able to get a good spot. Foods are good, great portions but I won’t say impressed. Staffs are friendly and welcoming even though they were busy. Everything was good def come back for special occasions.

Congratulations to Shoal Bay Country Club, these guys have got everything right. Fantastic Saturday night vibe, live music and plenty of seating both downstairs by the band and upstairs looking over the water. Awesome cocktails and very quick ordering and serving process meaning you’re never waiting around to get a drink. Wood fired prawn and pancetta pizza was absolutely next level. And super friendly staff. All in all one of the best waterfront venues in NSW hands down. Keep it up!

Food was great, service was great in a really busy time. Coffee was great and considering how many people they had ordering - really quick. A well run outfit both front and back of house

Casual but lovely food. I was a bit concerned about the lack of sanitisation of tables when we arrived but the outdoor area is good and inside is fairly open. Customer service started badly but ended with a couple of staff members being extremely helpful and friendly.
The lunch was fantastic. I ordered barramundi and salad and the salad was outstanding. Strips of zucchini, fennel, Capers, really tasty and a lovely dressing. It's always exciting when somebody makes a salad taste really good.
The country club is in a great spot and is fairly laid back but really lovely. I used to live at the bay and still love this place. Based on our visit the other day I would say customer service is a bit hit and miss.

Great location, well designed club.
Food was an absolute letdown. We ordered the fish & chips - batter was thick and gross, chips were cold.
Swimmer crab pasta - pasta was undercooked
Grilled Octopus salad - octopus was dry and chewy
Would recommend for the drinks and location only.

The best place in Port Stephens for a good time with typically live music. Usually a very good vibrant crowd

Great food and staff with absolutely stunning views. The wait time was quite a bit though, would definitely revisit and book a table in advance.
