Shindigs

This place has anything and everything you could possibly want for a party from costumes and balloons to lollies and tableware. All are reasonably priced. Staff were also very friendly and helpful.

This is a review if the disposable gas for balloons - don’t bother! It says it will blow up 30 balloons. We were lucky to get 11! The balloons we also bought from Shindigs were cheap and exploded and they didn’t come with ribbons or ties. Unfortunately the company that supplies the gas is an Australian company too which is disappointing.

NB: Thanks for your response. I was also “saddened” by the inequality of the product I paid for and received. I appreciate your reply but if you’re selling a disposable helium gas tank and defending your cheap balloons, then it might be an idea to sell packages, with quality balloons, so as not to disappoint. In the meantime we’ve bought helium gas and balloons before - from another provider. We’ve been able to blow the balloons up the night before. Your instructions say your helium will last up to 7 hours. It didn’t. The one star review is absolutely warranted.

Picked up all I needed for my son's pirate party, the staff even recommended some things for me. Prices are very reasonable and I even picked up a costume for my husband.

My husband received his balloons today for his 60th birthday and they look wonderful very colorful, TYVM

Went in there a couple of times, they have a variety of party supplies and good selection of different items. However, they have the worst two things in life, prices are too high. Not a small difference in prices but at least one double comparing to other shops (ex.napkins 16pk for about $5.70; Hot Bargains have the same but 20 pk for $2.50). Hot bargains and K-mart are the best substitutes for Shindigs. Party supplies are mostly imported from CN for under a dollar each with shipping cost.

The second point is that they have the worst customer service ever. I’m assuming Shindigs have the best ability to teach the world how to provide the most ugly customer services.

I don’t recommend this Shindigs at all for any reason. Other shops are available with much much better customer service and at least 50% cheaper prices.

Amazing range of costumes and decorations! Found everything and more that I needed for my event. What really stood out for me though was the service. So many friendly and helpful staff, especially Ronan, who took me all around the store, finding every niche item I wanted. Five stars!

They crafted a delicious Black Forest cake on short notice. It looked terrific and tasted divine!

In the past few weeks, I’ve found myself needing party supplies, bachelorette party supplies, random bits and pieces for work events, funny little tidbits for home and Shindigs is my one-stop-shop. I don’t even have to think half the time, I simply go straight for one of the wonderfully creative, patient and knowledgeable staff who not only know every inch of their store but are able to offer brilliant solutions when perhaps the first option isn’t available or I want something a little different, a little extra. Staff have even stayed behind when I’ve been running late to pick something up, they’ve crafted things for me, workshopped creative solutions, and always done it with a smile and great prices! Thank you to the magnificent team for always making my shopping experience first rate!

Love Shindigs! Great customer service, always greeted at the door with a welcoming hello. Always have a large range of products on display. Staff are ore than willing to assist if unable to find exactly what I'm looking for. I will definitely keep coming back

Shindigs staff have always been friendly, respectful, kind and supportive.

Throughout lockdown they continued to work tirelessly to provide their clientele with top service so that they could still celebrate those important milestones.

As a small business owner, they have been there to assist when I needed packaging or specific ingredients at short notice and are always more than happy to do whatever is necessary to help.

I barely ever go anywhere else in Newcastle for supplies, and if I do it's one of the VERY RARE occasions Shindigs don't have what I am after.

10/10 recommend.

Was not allowed into store despite ending of government mandates. Shindigs chooses Apartheid even when there is no legal requirement to do so. Shindigs will never see another cent from my family regardless of vaccination status. Goodbye.

Me, my friend and her daughter want into the shop on the 3rd to find some custumes. We got the best customer service from Felicity she was amazing.she went above and beyond to make sure we got everything we needed and we did. Felicity needs a pay rise.

Click and collect has no attendant. Waited outside for along period of time. When entering the store to seek assistance, I was ushered outside and treated like a second rate human as I am unable to be vaxed. Don't expect any understanding from the owner. Poor customer service.

I have been buying balloons for the kids’ birthday for the last 4 years (I wish I started using them earlier), and I have NEVER been disappointed with the quality of service or product. I have needed Shindigs a lot through Covid and their lockdown process is quick, efficient and the quality of customer service hasn’t changed. I can’t recommend Shindigs more and won’t go anywhere else for balloons or party supplies.

Alison and Helen at Shindigs go above and beyond their excellent customer service. I highly recommend Shindigs for your one stop party shop. I also recommend their balloon packages Helium hire, balloons and tying ribbons for an awesome price. Shindigs will definitely be my go to place.

Got myself some great halloween gear for this Saturday. Can't wait to try it out. You'll find lots of costumes. It can get a little confusing with all the different products but staff are friendly and helpful.

Love Shindigs for party supplies although a little pricey on items, they have a massive range for every occasion.
