Sutherland Shinbukan is another very friendly branch of Shinbukan JCMA other than Lane Cove, the Honbu Dojo. Students are very keen to learn, diverse, welcoming and very skilled.
I found that Sutherland focuses strongly on contact sparring as well, but taught in a controlled manner, being both effective yet safe. Students hold immense respect for each other and the Senseis. Iaido is also taught by Sensei Robert Shihan who holds decades of experience hand taught by an authentic Japanese teacher.
