My wife and family had a table of 6 and 4 of the 6 came away with food poisoning that night and into the very next day. We rang and spoke to the food and beverage manager who basically palmed off the whole situation by asking us ridiculous questions. Like what did we eat 48 hours before we arrived and Obtain medical certificates to say that nobody was ill prior to attending the high tea. Absolutely ridiculous will never visit this place again. They are pathetic and Will not take responsibility for the fact that their food supply on that day made four out of the six people sick.

Loved our city stay very much here! The views for anytime of the day on level 36 are just amazing. Definitely be back.

Amazing location, beautiful harbour view rooms and the horizon club is great. The hotel also has a good gym, sauna and pool/jacuzzi.

Absolutely terrible! So overrated. We paid $500 for dinner that was supposed to have a view of the harbour. There was a pilon in our way so we couldn't see anything except the pilon. Not happy at all. Don't waste your hard earned money.

Mine was a business trip and these days at nearly 70 years old, I am more than a bit over business trips. Shangri-La Sydney however, made this trip the exception. Wonderful Location and classy and clean facilities. One of the highlights for me though was the pleasingly high-quality customer service which, in our wonderful country with so much to offer, is sadly not a strong point. I will definitely be back to stay at Shangri-La Sydney.

I was unable to fault anything during my visit. Everyone was so beautifully accommodating. The room was wonderfully appointed, the food and service superb. Thank you. I'll be back.

It was a lovely experience staying at the Shangri-La Sydney. The staff were, without exception, helpful, warm and pleasant. The bed and pillows super comfy. I’d love to stay again next time.

We stay in a suite and it had the best view, not just in Sydney, but in the world. The room was very spacious. Even though it is not a new hotel, the interior is well maintained and does not appeared aged.

Honestly fantastic! Surprised my 13 year old with a few nights stay in the Executive Suite, level 29, and the view was breathtaking. The facilities were great, the staff were amazing, the restaurant and bar on 36 were impeccable. Highly recommend

Property looks tired.

Carpet stained in Horizon club.
In Altitude restaurant furniture doors falling off.

Wallpaper in suite is peeling off in places.

Great staff

Great location hotel with disappointing staff. The positives: great views of the opera house with a lovely restaurant towering harbour views. The bad: inattentive staff with a general disinterest in providing any sort of “5-star” experience. We found the room with leftover food - house cleaning did clean this quickly but it shouldn’t have been there in the first place, especially given covid. The restaurant staff were abrupt and reception a bit clueless. We wanted to book the restaurant in the hopes of securing a window view. Reception informed us there would be plenty of space. Upon showing up we were told all the window table were booked. This is the general trend amongst the staff. Untrained or poorly trained staff with a disinterest in enhancing your experience.

Attitude their level 36 restaurant boast a fine dining experience but you might as well eat at a hotel buffet because beyond the views the food is very average.

The hotel does have potential as there members who care as we were given a welcome gift as we were celebrating our anniversary but with all the other poor experience it did not add to a good experience.

For the price they charge I would stay away.

My twin sister and I booked for 3 nights to celebrate our 60th birthday. Our room had the most amazing view, all the staff were helpful, efficient and kind, and we could not have wished for a more perfect mini break. A couple of things were missed in our room, but within moments of asking they were resolved. We absolutely loved the Blu Bar, and the Room Service breakfast was as gorgeous as the view. This is the best hotel I have ever stayed in.

Stayed over the weekend to celebrate a Birthday in the Opera house view room with Horizon club lounge access. The room was impressive size, fully renovated clean and stylish. It was a nice surprise from when we stayed last for our anniversary few years back. One big suggestion is to include a shoe horn in the room which was unfortunately nowhere to be found. On the downside the food in the club lounge significantly deteriorated in quality. It was good to have some hot food options though. Also the couches in the lounge need an update. On a bright side in was a plesent surprise to get complimentary high tea set up in the lounge not long after checking in. The food items on the high tea set up were good and the service was pleasant. It was also nice to get a complimentary sparkling in room for birthday celebration. Great to discover that the swimming pool and the sauna was accessible. In terms of location and views of Sydney Harbour it is the best Sydney has to offer. The hotel is also accomodating if you need a bit more time (within reason) to check out.

We stayed for 5 nights in a Deluxe Opera House City View Room. It was wonderful! Thank you so much to the management for surprising us with a bottle of bubbly - our travel agent had mentioned it was our anniversary - lovely touch
It was so nice seeing that view at different times of day and night. Excellent location for walking to The Rocks and Bridge and local restaurants. Will definitely stay again!

Disappointed in the room we had. Over the years we have stayed here numerous times and always the rooms have been perfect but not this time! In the bedroom three lights did not work, in the lounge room the settee was dirty and we were unable to use it. Maybe it is time to find a real 5 star hotel!

For a five Star hotel there is a frigobar empty but no options to get beverages inside of the hotel. Room service limited hours. 5 stars hotel?

Lastly the parking fare is a crime.

Overall the hotel looks really tired and the streets next to the entrance are really dark to walk at night.

The good - great location, friendly and helpful staff and great bathroom. The bad - room was dreary, brown and tired, in need of a facelift. Fantastic view of the Opera House but the bed was facing dreary buildings. Should have the bed on opposite wall so one can see the opera house.
